Made some new background graphics and a couple other aesthetical changes to make the ROM feel more of a complete experience in my eyes. 

I really like the opening EA splash screen from @AdamCatalyst latest ROM, so start i replaced the stock splash with an homage to his where i reworked the EA logo (turned the E into a C and flipped the A around to make an R) and surprisingly it looks pretty good as CR Sports. Also swapped the Stanley Cup out for a whiskey barrel, because... for the culture of course.

Team select screen got a bit of an upgrade. Banner went from VISITORS to AWAY and in the menu i switch TEAM 1 and TEAM 2 to HOME TEAM and AWAY TEAM.

All Team Logos now have coloured backgrounds. I feel it looks better this way than the white background.

Matchup Screen along with Edit rosters, Edit lines, Player stats and all subsequent screens customized to include the CR Sports logo to make the experience feel far more complete.

Gatorade bottles added to the tops of the nets 👌

Finally I went through the suggestion to look into player handedness by @RT1977 and fixed all of the wrong ones.

Enjoy this small update as much as i did

Finally put the finishing touches into my ROM that i made for the guys at work. This ROM was built on top of @Sauce NHL 94 Trade Deadline Rom. I started it long ago and was a long on again off again project. I would edit some and then come across another topic on here to change or add something else so I would keep going back for more. I originally made the Crown Royal team on top of Hartford for whatever reason but then shifted when I wanted to make a second team and put them overtop of Wales/Campbell all stars. A big thanks to @von Ozbourne for rearranging and cleaning up stray tiles for me. Im sure I've patched this ROM with a tonne of things that i cant recall. There are some hidden characters on a bunch of teams and cousins and uncles spread out through Toronto and Detroit.

Updated the intro screen with my favorite goalie ever Felix The Cat and changed it to CR Hockey for Crown Royal obviously

My absolute favorite part is the selection screen, it took me a while to get it as close to right as I could. I had some trouble with this and finding the right offset for the pallette following the tutorial set out by @Drezz but that was due to my own lacking. Finally figured it out and was really the last step for me to truly finish this ROM. Two Crown teams the Crown Royals and the Crown Apples, to match different flavours of the whiskey.

  

Matchup screen updated with Michael Buffer on the call to get the players hyped.

Updated Islanders and Rangers on scoreboard instead of New York I and R,  for my own preference. TSN branding on the scoreboard and Diageo on the Zamboni.

I'm liking the white rink for now so that's what it is. Added our union for the advertising to seal the deal.

Only changes I would like to see in this is Dino Ciccarelli added to Detroit (maybe remove Martin Lapointe to fit him?) and for Anaheim Mighty Ducks maybe change Charlie Conway to a higher rating so he's then the best rated player on the team! LOL!

Working good so far except I just had to add/ rename a extension (such as .bin) to these download files on my device after I downloaded because they were not added to the file names in the download. My emulator I like to use accepts .bin files for example so I just added that extension to the file after downloading.

@RT1977 weird I've had no problems with file extensions. They work great on Kega Fusion and GenPlusDroid. Thanks for the heads up though.

Ok Good as that should help everyone downloading the ROM.

Thankyou also for making this Rom. There is many years of many peoples great work and their efforts on this whole site for mods of the NHL game Roms. I think it's great! For watching current  real hockey it's unfortunate my cable TV package isn't good enough to access many season games. On my cable package it looks like the only next upcoming game I can watch is not till Tuesday night! I do not have ESPN plus or NHL network for example.

If curious for the Emulator I tend to mostly use for Sega Genesis games it's called EmuMD XL by Pentawire. Because for years I just only play and use Android Tablets to play my Genesis Roms or Android games. I actiually no longer even own a PC actually but I used to own a Windows PC many years ago. Because now I just have a Smart Phone, some Android Tablets, and also own a few now discontinued Playstation 4 consoles as "my latest"  gaming console. Still have not yet upgraded to the Playstation 5, etc. If curious to what my actual favorite Playstation 4 game is its called War Thunder! I only play and like the flight simulation portion of that game that includes both aircraft (Props, Jets) and also helicopters. Lately I've been  flying the Helicopters on it moreso than the planes over the last few months.

Only other current suggestion for correction is Players I noticed who need corrected handedness to my knowledge in this Rom....(correct handedness check?)

Rob Blake (on both LA Kings and Western All Stars team), Zdeno Cigar?, Kelly Buchberger, Jesse Belanger?, Brian Bellows, Marty McSorley, Jason Smith?, Tom Chorske?, Keith Jones?, Esa Tikkamen, Steve Larmer?, Ed Olczyk, Claude Lapointe, Dimitri Mironov?, Wendell Clark, Jimmy Carson,Don Sweeney (Boston), and Charlie Conway (Ducks, I think in the movie he was a righty).

These players to my own knowledge (? on some im not sure) have wrong handedness in the game.  

Quick Edit:players Jesse Belanger, Steve Larmer, Zdeno Cigar, and Tom Chorske have  actually the correct handedness in your Rom. For the other players mentioned I think I'm mostly correct but not a expert! Just a suggestion to fix these above players to the correct stick handedness? I will ease back abit because I've been  writing you abit too much tonight!

@RT1977 I appreciate the engagement with my ROM. I'll for sure have a look at those guys and swap their hands. Real easy to do in NOSE. Back in 94 I was only 8 and only cared about the Leafs and the .ain superstars of that era, my dad was a huge wings fan.

I assume you are from Canada? In the 80s and 90s I've been to Canada. Only Canadian city their I've been to though is Toronto on a vacation with my parents as a kid. I visited the CN tower their too. Canada often reminds me of Europe actually, partly because for one they use the metric system for example as I'm from the USA. Actually the only country outside the USA I've been to is Canada in fact. I also do listen to just some music groups out of Canada but not too many. Its Funny Ive  noticed about myself the last several years I both  think more  and talk about Canada more fondly today than in the past! Perhaps it's partly or maybe has abit to do with more recent years of the political changes in America. Funny  that one past Canadian Hockey player I do remember very well was actually Mike Ricci!

I think Brian Bellows on Montreal to me seems too lowly rated. I think he could use a ratings boost. Also it appeared he was named Brian Bellow not Bellows.

Aside from correcting some players handedness the only other suggestion for this Rom is maybe for some teams that lack a fictional player maybe one or two could be added to those teams. And better if at least one or two of the fictional players on each team could be rated at least a 80 or better overall? Other than that I don't have any more suggestions at the moment.

I seem to had mentioned some rather ambitious suggestions and ideas for this Rom to be progressed to a further  level. As I made another  thread about it I think just yesterday. If you have read it, its Probably not likely to ever happen but I assume if you can't do it for me or whoever might be  interested in what I proposed  then  maybe someone could help you abit with that or have someone with your permission to maybe do all the work on my shared suggestions? They would need your permission if they ever would. What I had suggested probably is not overly too hard to do, but would take some time to complete though. I assume you work weekly too? I seem to be interested in a more strictly NHL only based Rom off this Crown Royal Edition. In my other post I just detailed in detail what I would personally myself would like to see for this particular Rom in the future going forward. It's just a idea and suggestion that's all. I seem to be a user on here that just really enjoys the Roms. That's mostly why I'm here and visit this site and this forum.

I assume now that you were actually only planning on making just this one Rom (Crown Royal Edition) primarily and it may be likely just a one off ROM project? Im Sorry if I scared you off by seemingly requesting after further Rom projects. 😁

Hey @RT1977 yes this ROM was my full intention to make modded version at this time. It definitely scratched my itch but maybe in the future if I think of a concept and need that itch scratched again maybe I will. For now I'm extremely happy with how mine turned out. I might make some minor tweaks here and there, as far as adding hidden characters to all the teams I feel like it would take away from them being hidden and take away from randomly picking Tampa Bay and seeing they have Thor in the lineup.

Ok thanks for replying and giving me some reference and understanding. Its your Rom and its pretty good.  My requests for future versions were more totally separate versions of your current Rom. Meaning just extra variants beyond the current one. As in the same general Rom but like 5 seperate different versions! Meaning this one can be as is  as a download. My intended request was for 4 "extra seperate versions" on top of this one you made and would be all separate downloads.  Does that make any sense? If you have any future itch to make more Roms please do. And If someone else with permission  could take on what I seem to be requesting maybe someone else could someday pursue that and or in the future? In the meantime thanks for making this first Rom though.  Only question is if you make future minor tweaks and versions of this current Rom will it contain correct accurate handedness for all the real players? The only ones that bothered me the most was Rob Blake bring a left shot when hes really a right, and Don Sweeney being a Right handed shot in this Rom when hes really a lefty. I think Esa Tikkanen too.  Things like that. Again future tweaks to this one single  basic Rom will be nice to see. While maybe My other ideas and suggested/requested extra variants was a bit too much and ambitious. 😶

I give anyone who wishes to permission to alter my ROM for any purpose at anytime, it's a bloody mess on the inside but it's all there. The base ROM by @Sauce would be alot safer and is well documented in this site as a starting point.

I can probably give you a break for awhile about it. But by any chance if you know anybody else on here that you think might or could take up what I seem to very much want for a project  please do that  if you'd like or if you could? If you ever feel you could take my request though down the road please do, but I will leave that option totally up to you and you can do it or even if Not on your own decision. If you have any time on your hands for your already current Rom and of your planned updates to it, or if you may want a second project like I  had asked for , or even got a perhaps better one of your own as well too you got my approval one way or another on all three. Thankyou for replying and getting back to me earlier today too!

Thankyou for the updates to this.  I'm also very happy to see the players with now fixed and  corrected handedness as well. Seems so far that everyone is correct now. Those early mistakes were not even yours as the original  base used was from The Sauce.
