D-pad to move player A button for Flip Pass/dumping puck/ or hold for line change (when set to manual line changes) when in possession of puck. A button to Hook when on defense. B button to Pass and to select player closest to puck. And B button on defense to poke check. C button to Shoot, hold for slapshot. C button to Check on defense. First Press B to pass then C button to do onetimers. Start button for Menu and to pause game. That's most of the basic controls for Sega Genesis version of Nhl94.
