NHL 94 - 32 Team ROM by slapshot67

Featured Replies

I found this ROM in one of the other threads, and it looked like a good one (maybe the best one?) to use as I start working on a ROM project of my own. I was able to change some things in NOSE, which was cool for a start!

I did notice that it seems like some other mods/hacks have been applied to this ROM. Two things I noticed right away were the 5 minute periods were actually only 30 seconds long (which might be great while I’m working on it!) and the stick tape mod was there too.

Is there a full list anywhere of what mods have been applied/added to this ROM? I just want to know what I’m working with, and if there is anything in it I’d want to back out (or maybe wouldn’t even be able to back out) before I get too far.

Thanks!

Sorry for the extra post - just realized I should do this… @slapshot67

I think it is just a base rom, stick tape was the only mod added, no other hacks have been added.

PATCHES NOT IN ROM
weight bug
6 button goalie
fighting
fake shot

Thank you so much for the reply, @slapshot67!

Do you know if the xml sheet with bookmarks for Tile Molester will work with your base rom? The one I’m talking about is here: XML file “that is a bunch of bookmarks in TileMolester for the 32-team rom template” from naples39

Thanks again for the help!

Answering my own question, it appears that most if not all of the bookmarks in that xml file work. There are still some things that I haven’t found yet, but I think if I poke around I can find some potential offsets for those things and see if they work. If I do manage to add anything significant, I’ll post my own xml so that others can use it in the future if they want.

@slapshot67 I’ve been able to find most stuff so far, and have edited some logos, banners, etc. using Tile Molester and the offsets from that xml, along with a few I found elsewhere (that I think happened to be the same as the 30 team rom).

There are two things I could use help finding:

  1. The pause menu scoreboard logo that says “Bucko TIRE YOTA” in your rom. I went to the offset I found for the 30 team rom (000BC906), and it’s definitely in that neighborhood, but not quite right. The palette number from the 30 team rom (366884) also doesn’t seem right.

  2. I haven’t seen an offset for this anywhere, for any size rom - the VISITOR banner from the Team Select screen. I found the HOME one, and the palettes for both the home and away can be found scrolling just like the 30 team rom. But if I wanted to change the look or font of those banners, I guess I’d need the offset for the VISITOR banner.

Thanks for all the help!

@slapshot67 Cool! Thank you so much! A couple of follow ups:

  1. Is the canvas size for the scoreboard ad smaller (4x3) rather than the 6x4 size in the 30 team rom?

  2. With the Zamboni “THRIFT” ad, did you use two tiles for the left tile on each row (seen at offset 000A89AC) that aren’t connected to the 4x2 tile block seen at offset 000A8BCC that makes up the rest of the ad?

Thanks again!

The 30 team rom has no side judges, so some tiles were used for that in the 32 team rom

the Zamboni is in pieces, so you have to edit it like that.

Thank you so much for the answers! So great to be able to set this up in an xml and just go to work with the bookmarks!
