SCART Image Issue

Featured Replies

Hey y’all. Got a question. I just bought a GBS-C Pro just for NHL’94. Was hopeful everything would work with SCART. Unfortunately, the image quality is scrambled. I purchased a cheap AliExpress cable and I purchased an expensive CSync cable from internet advice. Neither had a good picture. I’m playing on a Model 1 Genesis

Any advice from the group?

Forget info

Look at the pins and connections of your cables. Swap out that cable as well to be sure.

I use HD Retro Vision cables to my all my CRTs these days since the Model 1 handles RGB it natively, but I'm going to assume you don't have PbPr component on that monitor.

First time I’ve heard of these HD Retrovision cables. May have to pick theses up. Thanks for the info.

This is a sync problem. People have you fooled thinking you need CSync cables. Sync on composite works absolutely fine, and sync on luma is even better (but Genesis doesn't have S-video output so you can't use that in this case).

You get what you pay for in cables. Shielding is the most important thing in all of this.

@chaos …can you recommend a cable to buy? I purchased an expensive PackAPunch cable and that’s what the pictures are from…

I saw this cable from Stone Age Gamer. Thing is, it says it’s wired for CSync… but says it’s RGB. Still looking for sync on luma or composite. Any advice would be helpful.

I've bought cables from here in the past (were different owners though). Should be the same quality. CSync is fine as long as it is properly used. They are made to order though.

The stoneagegamer one is fine too. Never heard of the other company you posted.

Also make sure your GBC is set up properly for the right sync. It might me trying to sync on Green instead of using csync

Thanks. I was thinking to get cables from either place. I’ll check to see if I can change settings. Haven’t been able to find simple instructions.

Thank @clockwise. I purchased the HD Retrovision cables and the image is stable. I think I may try to get a scary cable later, but this is fantastic! Thank you both for the help.

If you upload that video as an MP4 it'll play in the reply. But I dl'd the MOV file, it looks great.
