LA TIMES - Kings rebound thanks to Hrudey!

Coming off of a home loss to Vancouver in overtime, GM and coach of the Kings, Buhtwhole Burnside, called an immediate team meeting at the local pool hall to try and get his players motivated for the next game and the tough season ahead. "I thought it was a great night with the team. First we tied that greaseball Hrudey to one of the bar stools and let the defensive line whack him across the head with their pool sticks", laughed coach Burnside. "Leave it to McSorley to bring a cattle prod to the joint", Gretz added. "You gotta wonder why McSorley gets off watching a guy piss in his trousers all night." Even Dirty Dave, the local bartender, was able to get a few throws of the 8-ball in during the teams "Knock Hrudey's teeth out Tournament". Coach Burnside summed it up: "It was all fun and games and Hrudey knows that... and if he doesn't then f#@k that queer!"

As coach Burnside predicted, this important night lifted Hrudey's spirits and game as LA finished the homestand with 6-2 and 7-2 wins over Philli and New York. "It's not everyday you have to forklift your goalie onto the ice yet still get a meaningful win." Hrudey felt especially proud with his performance. "Being rated 57 never felt better. I was unconcious most of the game, but woke out of bad dreams of me and Dirty Dave to make a few clutch saves with my broken arm." After the win, coach gave his goalie a crown for his exceptional play. "I AM KING OF LA!" Hrudey yelled out! "And you're the queen of my heart!" followed Dirty Dave dancing with Hrudey's jock strap on his head.
