Gartner Still #2 Prostitute, but Broadway Blueshirts on Roll

The New York Rangers are finally playing like Eastern Conference favorites. Too bad it took them 19 games to find themselves.

Mike Gartner had a huge role in the Rangers' recent 3-game sweep of the Quebec Nordiques. They sent the Nordique faithful home shocked with a 5-1 beating at the Colisee de Quebec. Then, coming back to Madison Square Garden, in front of a pair of sold out crowds, took the next pair by counts of 3-2, and 4-3 (OT). The Rangers are now 9-10-0 and looking to prepare for the postseason with their final game against the Tampa Bay Lightning looming large for both teams. The Rangers need it to move closer to the #2 seed, while the Lightning with a win can ruin coach Tom Delgado's hopes of his first ever .500 season, and keep their hopes of claiming the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference alive.

Quebec falls to 1-9-0 and will need a good run in their final 10 games to get into playoff form. They do however, need just one point to pass Montreal for the #4 seed at the moment.

*Bonus*NHL Prostitute Rankings

1. Kelly Hrudey's Clones (LA)

2. Mike Gartner (NYR)

3. Barry Melrose
