HABS
MONTREAL, QUE--- After a very nice preseason, the Canadiens were flying and ready for GDL season 3. Montreal looked to avenge their playoff loss in the East Finals to Kgman in GDL 2, and also first round loss to the same Kgman in the classic league. But the team has been playing flat uninspired hockey this season. And has a league worst 4 OT losses, all at home. With the score 1-0 near the end of the 1st, former Canadien Patrice Brisebois delivered a vicious hit on Wayne Gretzky as he was about to cut in for the deke and score. The never used Peter Stastny was given a shot at right wing. He came in and led the team with a goal and an assist. But the Canadiens played terribly and lost 7-2 to the Jets, after pulling the goalie with the score 5-2 trying to spark something. Gretzky has had some amazing games against Kg's Jets, and the loss of his playmaking was too much. With 36 games left and a 9-7-4 record through the first 20, it will be tough for the team to repeat as division champs. Coach Habs hinted at some linechanges for the first time this season, and a more opened up offensive game. Montreal's no name roster must play as a team to succeed, so far it has been a bust. The Great one, on the bench after a being injured in the first period. He did not return to the game. Gretzky, asked after the game, "Why does the team suck, and why do you have the worst wrist shot in the league?". He gave no answer and decided to stare into the camera for 3 straight hours.
