Cell Phone that runs emulators

Recommended Posts

  • 3 weeks later...
My Cell phone plan is up and I am due for a new phone.

Anybody have a phone/pda that runs emulators well for Sega and NES?

My guesses would be...

N95 (or any S60 phone with enough power/n-gage capability)

iPhone

Most windows mobile phones could probably do it as well-- my brother had an HP Windows Mobile Phone like 3 or 4 years ago which could do it.

What definitely cannot do it? S40 phones... not powerful enough. They can handle ports of Genesis games though (there is a version of Sonic 1 & 2 available for S40 for example)

thanks for the info. I am not sure what are s60 phones, but I was looking at the Blackjack II and the Moto Q. The Q has a site with a forum to download emulators but it looks like the Q can't handle 3 buttons pushed at once, which may be a problem for some games. Everything Q

Do you have any experience witht he Q?

My one thing I don't like about the iphone is there are no "real" buttons for the controller.
