  1. NHL 94/09

    League Format

Both A and B League run on the same format. Each league has twelve teams with two conferences of 6. Each coach is obligated to complete their 32 game schedule consisting of four games against in conference opponents (two home and two away) and two games against out of conference opponents (one home and one away). Coaches are responsible for contacting each other through AIM to play games. Top four teams from each conference will make the play-offs.

    Point System

Just like modern day NHL (with exception of a tie):

    Win/Overtime Win - 2 points

    Tie - 1 point

    Overtime loss - 1 point

    Regulation loss - 0 points

    Rules

    Period Legnth: 5 minutes

    Line Changes: Off

    Penalties: On, Except Off-Sides

    Goaltending: Manual

Overtime will be 5 minutes as well.

    Be respectful of other coaches!

    Checkpoints and Waitlist

Every two weeks a coach should have at least 8 games played. If a coach is behind on games at a check point they will be warned. If behind at a check point, you have until 7 days after the check point to make up to the required amount at that checkpoint. If not caught up by that 7 day time period, the coach will be replaced. For example:

Coach Timmy has only played 4 games at the first check point, he has been sent a PM from me and has one week to get up to 8 games or he will be replaced with an eager coach from the waitlist.

To sign up on the waitlist, just reply to the League Sign-Up thread in the General Discussion section of the NHL 94/09 subforum. Remember to submit your AIM screen name, your top 5 choices of teams, and which division you would like to be put on the waitlist for.

The waitlist list is first come first serve, don't be discouraged though. Top people on the waitlist sometimes join other leagues and decline offers for a spot or remove themselves from the list. When moving someone into the league, the leaving coach and new coach will be notified. If the leaving coach has played less than 16 games, the new coach will pick a new team and start fresh (and be given slack on checkpoints to play catch-up). If the leaving coach has played more than 16 games the new coach will take over the already existing team and past games will still count for that team.

    Play-Offs

As the regular season ends the top four teams of each conference make the play-offs. Tie breakers for points in the regular season will be:

    1. # of Games Played

    2. Head-to-Head Record

    3. Number of wins

    4. GF vs GA

    5. Potato Sack Race in my backyard

Top four teams from each conference will make the post season and the first round format will be:

    Best of 7

    1 (Home) vs 4 (Away)

    2 (Home) vs 3 (Away)

Game order for the top seed team will be: Home, Home, Away, Away, Home, Away, Home

  2. Sorry? No one took Edmonton in the A league, why did i receive the Trashers? But i guess i will keep them , they great but those god damn horrible jerseys

Sorry, that was a mistake on my part. I had Houlanov on A with the Oilers before he sent himself back down to B and forgot they were you number 1 while I was putting things together. If you still want the Oilers just let me know.

  3. Both A and B League's are full... Check the original post for the teams and conferences. Once the league is given a subforum and the rom is complete (Thanks to shaftman for his help) the league will start.

Still taking people on the waitlist for both A and B leagues, it is ok to sign up for both divisions. If you sign up for both divisions you can only accept one opportunity, for example: if Stan1sh is first on both the A and B waitlists and a spot become available in A, he is moved into the A league and his name is removed from the B list.

  4. Quick question, since its an 09 rom, couldn't we have a shootout after overtime?

I hate shootouts in general but still . . .

Hmm, I don't think it's possible to have the rom set up to do a shootout after OT. I guess if it's still tied after OT you could go straight to Shootout mode and play. It would be a lot more like the modern rules to eliminate ties all together. I'm open to leave this subject up for debate. Please leave thoughts on Shootouts and the Penalty time change(which would change penalties from 2 minutes to 1:20).

  5. A league is set with teams and conferences... Check the original post for the details. Season is not starting yet though until we have a subforum and the rom is finalized! I will still take people for A waiting list. If you want to be in B league and be on the A waiting list at the same time that is fine too!

C'mon we still need two more B leaguers!

  6. alright sign me up...

Put me on the A waiting list...if anyone drops out id like to fill their spot.

    other wise B...

    1. Montreal

    2. Montreal

    3. Montreal

    4. Washington

    5. Montreal

    Other then that...

As long as im not the bruins or leafs its all good.

Crackawhat dropped out of the league and he had Montreal... You're all set

  7. Just keep them at 2:00. Between 1:00 and 1:30 is like scolding a player at best, not to mention it being a bit ridiculous.

Oh, and are you using a latest version of the 2009 season ROM? Some guys complained that some stats on players were inconsistent and look like they were made like drop-and-go, and by that I mean the guys who made the ROM were laughing joking numbnuts. No offence, mind you.

I was thinking since these games are short that shortening powerplays a tad bit might make things a little more fair, but it's open for discussion. As of right now they are staying at 2, just an idea I had I want to get some opinions from the guys in the league.

  8. Is this league going to have the weightfix applied to the 09 rom?

Yes, the thread I got the rom from is here http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?showtopic=8736 . On the thread they say they used the weightfix, but you guys might wanna test it and make sure... I'm not very good at being able to tell...

All injuries were an automatic 4 minute penalty and I changed it back to 2 minutes in the sin bin for causing an injury. I'm thinking about even making penalties shorter, like between 1:00-1:30, how would everyone feel about that?

  9. Hokkeefan2 signs up in the A league with Vancouver, Calgary, New Jersey, Tampa Bay, and Columbus.

Just talked with Houlanov, he said place him where ever he feels is a fair place. I haven't played online since last summer and I remember him being pretty good, and since I haven't seen him play I'm not sure where he's at (I imagine much better). So I'll see how things shape up and think about it.

  10. Houl and redwing, you guys are good enough for A, try ur skills in A as well!!

I agree, there are going to be a lot of people wanting into B and there might be more of a demand for A teams, so if you guys want to move up just give me the word.. This would be a good league to try and play up a division. You also might have a better chance at getting your first choice team.
