  1. *scratches head*

Statto and Halifax, you're both right. In my excel sheet, I have the correct format (5-12,6-11,5-10,8-9) but on the picture I have some kind of strange backwards seeding. I fixed this in the attachment, and will now hang my head in shame.

Halifax, get on the writeup, and I expect copious amounts of dramatization.

  2. Qualification Round

Simulations are done, and stats are attached to this post (Has Player+Goalie stats, Final Qualification Round Ranking, Qualification Round Results, Elimination Round Bracket)

I don't got any random blurbs or anything to post, too tired. Elimination Round 'C' will be done tommorow.

  3. Sign-ups are CLOSED

11 teams signed up, and i'll submit a team to even it out at 12:

    G: P. Roy (MTL)

    LD: P. Coffey (DET)

    RD: D. Wilson (SJ)

    LW: M. Lemieux (PIT)

    C: B. Hull (STL)

    RW: D. Gilmour (TOR)

    G2: K. McLean (VAN)

    B: E. Lindros (PHI)

Got some pretty good luck on my 8, Hull's gonna give you guys nightmares.

Pools were randomly assigned, and here they are:

    Pool A

    Zalex

    Beavers

    TubaHero

    Pool B

    Logan

    Shaftman

    Halifax

    Pool C

    Freydey

    RedWingDevil

    Statto

    Pool D

    Smozoma

    Snyder

    OrangeBlack

To keep the # of games played relatively uniform throughout the tournaments, this time around each team plays every team in its own pool twice (Home and Away), for a total of 4 games played for every team in the Qualification round.

Following the qualification round, teams are ranked by the following criteria:

    1. PTS %

    2. Wins

    3. Goals For

    4. Goal Differencial

All Teams move on to the Elimination Round. The top 4 seeds are given a bye to the Quarter-Finals, while the bottom 8 play one round to determine the Quarter-Final matchups. All games in the Elimination Round are 1 game only, the only difference from the Qualification Round being a 20-minute OT rather than 10. This set-up means all teams are guaranteed 5 games, and a maximum of 8 games can be played in the tournament.

    Schedule

The schedule will be pretty loose, but in general rounds will be played with the following "chunks" each being simulated and results posted in one day:

    -Entire Qualification Round (No Writeups)

    -First Elimination Round (Quick Writeups)

-Quarter-Finals+Semi-Finals (In depth Writeups including dramatic interviews with players)

-Championship Game (No Writeup; Full Game Video + Highlights)

Qualification round will be done either Today or Tommorow.

    Other

If anyone would be interested in helping out with the tournament, there something I have in mind:

Commentary for Championship Game - For shits, I figure why not have a Pizza-esque commentary? Of course this wouldn't be serious, and preferably i'd like Hokkee to do this (while being a few too many beers deep, of course). If you're interested, PM me about it.

  4. G: Patrick Roy(Habs)

    LD: Gary Roberts(Flames)

    RD: Gary Roberts(Flames)

    LW: Gary Roberts(Flames)

    C: Gary Roberts(Flames)

    RW: Gary Roberts(Flames)

    G2: Ed Belfour(Chicago)

    B: Gary Roberts(Flames)

*Note: I only picked ONE player from the flames.

Probably would have allowed this if Walachuk was in net :).

  5. Today marks the start of the last weekend to get Sim League games in before the March 15th deadline, so try to put in one last burst of activity.

Playoff seeds will be set quickly and playoffs will also begin March 15th, with the deadline for series to be decided later.

  6. Alright, Sign-ups close late afternoon on Monday, March 15th. I may or may not enter a team for myself, I haven't decided yet.

The big thing that I like about this format is that it requires minimal dedication from both coaches and myself, which allows for a fairly active "league" of sorts. Simulating a game (unless I want a video of it) takes less than a minute, and updating the stats is a breeze for me.

From here on out, after a tournament is finished the topic will be closed and the first post will be updated to contain the Final Tournament Stats and Award Winners.

  9. Don't worry about your roster guys, i'm checking them throughout the day, just edit your post and I will see it. Don't post in the topic again simply to state you got your rosters in (attempting to keep this topic less cluttered).

I'm waiting for Evan to give me moderation privelages in this sub-forum so I can start putting up stats and the like.

EDIT: RWD: Same as last tournament, duplicate players are allowed.

  10. I'm having a good time doing these, so I will be starting up a new one shortly after this one. Here's how it's going to work.

-All games are only one game, with the winner moving on and the loser being eliminated.

-There will be recaps and they will get progressively more intense, the words "riduculous", "robbed" and "blasts" being tossed around like confetti near the Semi-Finals

  11. And I don't have Hull on my team on the All-Start Tournament best roster, Logan.

Not quite sure how I messed that one up, but that's meant to be Freydey. I'll go fix that and pretend it never happened.

As for the live stream, i'll put a post up about it later today about it, and ill also record the game and post the video on the forums.

Hopefully Dr. Pizza will make an appearance and provide color commentary.

EDIT: Just noticed a mistake, the championship game is RedWingDevil AT TubaHero, not the other way around like the Tree indicated. Higher seed is always home, and I have already fixed this in the stats.

  12. Also, i'm considering having the championship game tommorow streamed LIVE, as well as a recap after it's finished. The stream would be on JustinTV at night (Around 8-9PM EST, let's say) and only open to NHL94 Forum members, so we could watch the game as well as talk and laugh about the game. Let me know if you guys are interested in this, otherwise i'll just record it and make highlights.

  13. Semi-Finals

    Halifax (14) AT RedWingDevil (9)

Ahem, for full appreciation of this recap, music is required. Please crank your speakers and

The 1st period starts off with a bang, as Hero Selanne gets the puck off the opening faceoff, and streaks into the offensive zone, and rips a shot at Fuhr, who gives up a rebound right back to Selannes stick. The Finnish Flash cuts in, dekes, and is robbed by Fuhr with an incredible diving stop. Play continues until 2 minutes are left in the first, and this time it's RedWD's Selanne who strips Bourque of the puck and goes in on the breakaway. Roy stops the initial shot, and dives to cover the puck, however Selanne beats him to it and shoots. The puck hits Roy, and starts to dribble towards the open net as Bourque speeds back and reaches for the puck...and just barely gets there in time and passes it out to safety. The game enters the 2nd period tied at 0-0, the shots 12-10 for Halifax. Midway through the 2nd, Halifax's Selanne receives a feed from Bourque and hammers one towards the open net, only to be denied by the crossbar, and Fuhr covers up. RedWD cannot solve Roy, and the game enters the final period still 0-0, the shots 21-17 for Halifax. The 3rd is fast paced, with both teams firing shot after shot at the goalies, who refuse to let in the 1st goal. With 5 minutes left, Bourque and Chelios are called for cross checking penalties, and RedWD has a 5on3 at a crucial point in the game. Blake gets the first powerplay shot, a blast that Roy deflects to the side boards. RedWD's Selanne picks it up and cuts to the front, and again Roy denies the shot with a pad stop. Selanne picks up the rebound but it crushed by Bourque and the puck is cleared. RedWD can't mount an offensive attack for the rest of the 5on3, and the game heads to overtime, still deadlocked at 0-0, the shots 33-29 for RedWD. Early in OT, Halifax's Selanne receives a pass in the slot and one timers it, and Blake blocks it, but the puck falls back to Selanne who swats it back at Fuhr, but again Fuhr turns the shot away and covers up. Off the faceoff Selanne dishes it back to Bourque, who slaps it at the net, leaving a big rebound for, seeming like the only player on Halifax's team, Selanne, who fires it at Fuhr's fivehole, but is shut down as another rebound trickles out. Selanne picks this one up as well, and shoots high glove side, only to see the puck disappear in flash of Fuhr's glove. With 2 minutes to go in OT, there is a battle for the puck near Halifax's blue line. Gretzky digs it out from a mass of players and barely keeps the puck in the offensive zone, and looks to the slot. Lemieux is waiting as Halifax's Bourque see's the danger and desperately skates towards the passing lane as Gretzky passes. The puck reaches Lemieux stick as Bourque launches a body check. Lemieux shoots just as Bourque bowls him over, and as he looks at the ceiling he see's his teammates mob him amid cheering. The underdog run is over.

    FINAL SCORE: 1 - 0 RedWingDevil (OT)

    OrangeBlack (6) AT TubaHero (2)

3 minutes in, Hull wins the faceoff to Mogilny in the offensive zone, and Mogilny turns and rips a wristshot home for a 1-0 TubaHero lead. 3 minutes later, Bourque dishes to Hull, who's bullet shot blows past Roy to make it 2-0. The 2nd period is, in the words of Pierre McGuire, the "Patrick Roy Show", as he denies one timer after one timer from OrangeBlack's offense. The prettiest save sequence comes with 30 seconds to go, as Mogilny goes cross crease to Roenick, who dishes it to Lemieux in the slot, who hesitates just long enough before shooting to allow Roy to get over and make the glove save. OrangeBlack keeps pushing in the 3rd, but all seems lost until Lemieux finally solves Roy, putting a one-timer blast over his shoulder to make it 2-1 with a minute left. Head coach OrangeBlack calls a timeout as Roy is pulled in an attempt to tie the game. As OrangeBlack delivers a speech so inspiring that music can be softly heard. The teams line up for the final faceoff, as Lemieux has a grim look of determination on his face...only to have it knocked off by a charging Hull, who takes the puck, skates into the zone and pops home the easy empty net goal.

    FINAL SCORE: 3 - 1 TubaHero

    Tournament All-Star Team

    LW: Teemu Selanne (Halifax)

    C: Brett Hull (TubaHero)

    RW: Brett Hull (Freydey)

    LD: Ray Bourque (IQ25)

    RD: Doug Wilson (Freydey)

    G: Grant Fuhr (RedWingDevil)

Picks mostly based on stats, but also based on the numerous games I watched.

  14. Quarter-Finals

    RedWingDevil (9) AT Freydey (1)

All eyes are on Freydey's Essensa to continue his incredible goaltending, and it appears the pressure gets to him 6 minutes in to the first, when Selanne gets in close, takes a shot that is blocked and recovers the puck, but Essensa attempts to stack the pads on the first shot, sliding him out of position, and Selanne's second attempt finds the back of the net for a 1-0 RedWD lead. Play remains even until, again, 6 minutes into the 2nd RedWD's Gretzky is hauled down from behind near the benches by Doug Wilson, and Lemieux steps up to defend his teammate, delivering a crushing bodycheck to Wilson, sending him over the bench. On the ensuing 2 on 1 rush, Lemieux passes it to Gretzky on the wing, and Gretzky slides a perfect pass back to Lemieux, who blasts one over Essensa's blocker for a 2-0 lead. Fuhr holds the fort for RedWD until Wilson salvages his reputation by (shades of Bobby Orr) rushing up the ice on his own, finishing it off with a pass to Lindros, who dekes and slides a backhander past Fuhr, making it 2-1 with 7 minutes to go. For the next 5 minutes, it's all Freydey as his offense continues to push for the tying goal, but Bourque gets overzealous, delivering a vicious elbow to Fetisov, knocking him out for the game and putting Freydey down a man for 2 minutes. Freydey's PK tries to contain Gretzky and Lemieux, but again Gretzky gets up close, sucking both defensemen into him, and delivers a beautiful no-look behind the back pass to Lemieux, who hammers it past a helpless Essensa for a 3-1 lead with 2 minutes to go. Gretzky would ice the game with a breakaway goal, upsetting the #1 seeded Freydey.

    FINAL SCORE: 4-1 RedWingDevil

    Halifax (14) AT Nationals (4)

The underdog Halifax looks to extend his win streak to 4 games, and the team looks to OT Hero Teemu Selanne to lead them to another upset. The Finnish Flash does not dissapoint, when 5 minutes into the game, with Bure serving a slashing penalty, he streaks into the zone, rips a slapshot off Scott Stevens chest, freezing Fuhr, and proceeds to bat the puck out of midair into the net for the shorthanded goal and a 1-0 lead. However, Nationals is still on the powerplay and doesn't wait long to respond, as Lemieux beats Chelios on a dump-in, circles behind the net and sets up Roenick for a one-timer that barely beats Roy to the glove side, tying the game at 1-1. The 2nd period is less about offense and more about sending a messege, as cross-checking penalties are given to both teams seemingly every minute. Finally the game settles down, and with barely over a minute to go in the period, Bure drops a pass to Bourque and streaks towards the net as Bourque hammers a one timer low that Fuhr can't control, popping out a rebound to Bure, who dekes to his backhand and trips over Roy as the puck slides in for a 2-1 Halifax lead. Early in the 3rd, Selanne continues to lead his team by taking a Mogilny pass on his backhand and slapping it past Fuhr to make it 3-1 with less than a period to play. Less than 3 minutes later, it's Mogilny's turn as he cuts into the slot, and snaps a shot that deflects off Bourque's stick and through Fuhr's legs for a 4-1 Halifax lead. Lindros makes it close for Nationals on a broken play around the crease: Bure gets control of the puck and haphazardly passes through his legs in an attempt to clear it, but the puck bounces off Chelios skates and to a rushing Bourque. Bure manages to poke the puck off his stick, but Lindros picks it up and takes two whacks at it to make it 4-2 Halifax. However, Bure sucks the life out of Nationals' team on the ensuing faceoff, getting control of the puck and simply streaking past the defense and deking for a breakaway goal, making it 5-2 Halifax. With 3 minutes to go, Roenick again pulls it to within 2 for Nationals, but Selanne completes a hat-trick 30 seconds later to put the game in the bag. The underdog run continues.

    FINAL SCORE: 6 - 3 Halifax

    Flasox (7) AT TubaHero (2)

Play is even throughout the first, when midway through the first, after the puck seems to be harmlessly sliding out of Flasox's zone, Coffey streaks past the blue line and whips the puck towards the slot, where Brett Hull is waiting and pops it over Roy's shoulder to make it 1-0 TubaHero. 3 minutes later, with Roy double-screened by his defensemen Bautin and Desjardins, Hull picks up his second goal of the game, sliding a wrister through Bautin's legs and into the net, 2-0 TubaHero. Ronning gets Flasox on the board 2 minutes into the 2nd with an absolutely beautiful pass through 3 TubaHero defensemen, giving Klima the easy tap-in at the side of the net, bringing it to 2-1 TubaHero. With a minute left to play in the 2nd, Roy let's a bad-angle Mogilny one timer slip over his blocker to restore TubaHero's 2 goal lead at 3-1. Early in the 3rd, Mogilny breaks in and crashes into the net with Flasox's Bautin, leaving a sprawling Roy completely out of position, and Hull picks up the puck and slides an easy one home to complete his hat-trick, 4-1 TubaHero. The final 7 minutes tick down to 0, and Flasox cannot find a way to beat Roy, who finishes with 26 saves for TubaHero.

    FINAL SCORE: 4-1 TubaHero

    OrangeBlack (6) AT IQ25 (3)

This game gets off to a fast start, as just 2 minutes in Roenick spins around one defender, dodges a check from another and rips a slapshot past Barrasso for a 1-0 OrangeBlack lead. However, minutes later Roenick tries to get fancy, deking around one check and tries to cut into the offensive zone near the boards, and Mark Messier has none of it, exploding into Roenick and knocking him out for the game, leaving shaky replacement Joe Mullen to pick up the slack. The score remains 1-0 deep into the 2nd despite an onslaught by OrangeBlack, outshooting IQ 11-6 in the period. However, with less than a minute to play, Bourque makes a terrible mistake, putting a pass right onto Mullen's stick near the slot. Mullen puts a backhander on net, and after a few bounces, a sprawling Barraso can only watch as Mogilny picks up the puck in the crease and slams it into the empty net, making it 2-0 OrangeBlack. Early in the 3rd Lindros is sent off for slashing, and in the ensuing OrangeBlack powerplay Joe Mullen continues to play admirably, delivering a pass to Lemieux in the slot, who bangs it home for a 3-0 OrangeBlack lead. IQ continues to push, but can't solve Roy, who finishes with 24 saves for the shutout, and backup Joe Mullen sets up 2 goals for the OrangeBlack win.

    FINAL SCORE: 3 - 0 OrangeBlack

    Quarter-Final Rants/Blurbs

    Halifax's Selanne = Clutch

Let's just recap Halifax's run to the Semi-Finals: He squeaks in as the 14th seed out of 16 seeds, and seems likely to be eliminated soon. Going into the elimination round, Selanne had 4 points in 4 games (4G, 0A) and hadn't really been anything special. In the first game, Selanne scores 2, including the game winner, to oust fairty-tale Zalex out of the tournament. That's 1 GP, 1 GWG for Selanne. Game 2 vs Houli, Selanne sets up Mogilny for the tying goal, then goes on to score the game winner in OT. 2 GP, 2 GWG. Game 3, Selanne ties up the game in 3rd at 1, then in OT, albeit fluky, pots the winner. 3 GP, 3 GWG. Entering the quarter-finals, it seems like Halifax's luck has to end sometime, but Selanne just continues to lead, scoring a hat trick to lead his team to the 6-3 win. Selanne has been absolutely essential for Halifax's winning streak in the elimination round, scoring 11 points (8 G, 3 A) in 4 games.

    Upset Round?

Freydey, IQ25, and Nationals went undefeated in the qualification round, and beat their opponents with a combined 37-10 score, to secure 1st, 3rd, and 4th seeds respectively. However, when it came down to the games that mattered, all 3 were eliminated by a combined 13-4 score. Maybe the extra time off to rest between the first 3 elimination rounds and the quarter-finals made their teams lazy. When asked for a comment on his team's lack of success, IQ25 proceeded to glare at Tom Barrasso and close the locker room door. Barrasso has since gone missing, while backup Tugnutt insisted "I would have won the game if I was given the chance".

Semi-Finals will be played in approx. one hour, after I finish eating.

  15. Elimination 'A'

    Zalex (15) AT Halifax (14)

After 2 periods of play, on the strength of two Brunet Goals, Zalex holds a shaky 2-1 lead and looks to continue the fairy tale. Unfortunately, early in the third, in a span of 30 seconds, Selanne puts Halifax up by 1 with a 3-2 lead, and the foot never came off the pedal. Mogilny scores 2 midway through the period in a span of a minute, and Halifax outshoots Zalex 14-4 in the final 10 minutes.

    FINAL SCORE: 5 - 2 Halifax

    Smozoma (16) AT Snyder (13)

Smozoma's Patrick Roy turns in a strong performance, turning away all 24 shots he faced to secure a win. Bourque started the scoring in the first, scoring his first goal of the tournament on the powerplay, and that was all that was needed. Selanne added another goal in the 3rd, and put home an empty netter to finish the game.

    FINAL SCORE 3 - 0 Smozoma

Halifax and Smozoma move on to Elimination 'B' to play Houli and HABS, respectively.

    Elimination 'B'

    Halifax (14) AT Houli (12)

Just 3 minutes into the game, with Fleury in the box serving a slashing penalty, Dougy Gilmour blocks a shot and storms down the ice, with Chris Chelios right on his back. Gilmour fakes to his backhand and puts home the shorthanded goal to make 1-0 Houli. Roy and Roy (lol) battle it out for the majority of the next two periods, trading saves until early in the 3rd Mogilny bangs home a pretty pass from Selanne to tie it up at 1-1. With neither team being able to solve Roy for the rest of the period, this game heads to overtime. It looks like it's headed to a shootout until Selanne picks Housley's pocket, skates in on Roy and picks off the top corner, ending the game for Halifax and ending the tournament for Houli.

    FINAL SCORE: 2 - 1 Halifax (OT)

    Smozoma (16) AT HABS (11)

Midway through the first, HABS' Yzerman makes it 1-0 off a one-timer feed from Messier, and the score remains this way until the third despite many chances by both teams. 3 minutes into the 3rd, Lemieux and Selanne score 20 seconds apart to make it 2-1 Smozoma with less than a period to go, but Yzerman comes through again and ties it up with 3 minutes remaining. The game heads to overtime, and it looked like HABS had the win, when during a 5 on 3 advantage, Yzerman and Messier get in close and start banging away, but Roy shuts the door, stopping 5 consecutive shots from in close. Roy finished with 40 saves, Belfour with 31. The game heads to a shootout. Roy and Belfour trade saves until Round 64, when HABS' Rob Blake skates in on Roy, goes to his backhand, proceeds to flip it behind himself to his forehand and fire it home for a pretty goal. Housley comes in on Belfour, needing to score to avoid elimination...and fails.

    FINAL SCORE: 3 - 2 HABS (SO)

Halifax and HABS move on to Elimination 'C' to play Shaftman and OrangeBlack, respectively.

    Elimination 'C'

    RedWingDevil (9) AT Logan (8)

Lemieux and Gretzky score for RedWD in the first, and Bure answers for Logan, the score being 2-1 entering the 3rd. Things go back and forth, with Logan looking for the equalizer, but 6 minutes in Lemieux and Selanne feed eachother for another 2 goals, and Logan does not recover.

    FINAL SCORE: 4 - 1 RedWingDevil

    Halifax (14) AT Shaftman (5)

Halifax looks to continue his long road to the final, playing his 7th game agaisnt Shaftman. Shaftman's Lemieux opens the scoring with a minute left in the first, taking a feed from Jagr and hammering it home behind a startled Roy. The score stays this way for awhile, with both Roy's turning away over 25 shots, until Selanne continues his heroic ways for Halifax, tying it up 2 minutes into the 3rd. Neither team can break the tie, and the game heads to overtime. In the last minute, with Halifax's Bourque serving a hooking penalty, Shaftman's Housley bobbles the puck around his own blue line, and Selanne picks it up and rips a slapshot from just outside the blueline. The puck nearly takes off Roy's head, but misses over the net and slams into the glass, and a nightmare bounce happens: the puck floats back towards the net, bumps off Roy's mask and tumbles into the net. Selanne picks up his second consecutive OT Winner, while Roy looks on in disbelief.

    FINAL SCORE: 2 - 1 Halifax (OT)

    Wags (10) AT Flasox (7)

In a defensive struggle, not much is happening offensively. With a minute left in the 2nd and Flasox's Klima off for tripping, Lindros makes it 1-0 Wags with a bullet shot. It isn't until midway through the 3rd that Klima makes up for his earlier penalty by turning a forehand to backhand deke into a 1-1 tie. The game continues to be slow and defensive, and the game heads to overtime. Down in Wags' zone, Ronning gets under pressure in front of the net and dishes a pass off to Gary Leeman behind the net. Showing off his questionable hands, Leeman cuts to the front of the net and pops a backhander in to win the game.

    FINAL SCORE: 2 - 1 Flasox (OT)

    HABS (11) AT OrangeBlack (6)

HABS' Rob Blake opens the scoring with powerplay blast 6 minutes into the 1st, and HABS carries the 1-0 lead into the 2nd. In a sloppy defensive period for HABS, OrangeBlack's Mogilny scores an unassisted breakaway 5 minutes in, and Lemieux adds 2 in 20 seconds 8 minutes in to make the score 3-1 heading into the 3rd. HABS can't seem to mount much offense for most of the period, until Messier finally breaks through and brings it to within 1, making it 3-2 with 2 minutes to go. With a minute to go, HABS pulls his goalie and keeps it in OrangeBlack's zone, trying to find to equalizer. With 5 seconds left, Sweeney feeds a pass cross-crease to Messier, who blasts it towards the open side, but instead of a celebration all that is heard is a loud 'PING' as the puck slams off the post. The puck bounces back to Messier, who tries again but this time Roy is in perfect position and makes the save as the final buzzer sounds.

    FINAL SCORE: 3 - 2 OrangeBlack

RedWingDevil, Halifax, Flasox, and OrangeBlack move on to the Quarter-Finals to play Freydey, Nationals, TubaHero and IQ25, respectively.

  16. Apologies HABS, I never noticed a new post/edit. No worries, there will be more of these and then Tony Twist can lead you to glory.

EDIT - For the record, i payed no attention to any of the games while they were being played except for two occaisions:

1 - Zalex vs Wags, I noticed close to the 3rd how close the game was, laughed at watched the rest of the game while I ate. Zalex's team looked like little kids or possibly Team Kazakhstan, and Walachuk was actually pulling off some pretty saves. Dixon's game winner was garbage, shot it off a D man, goalie froze, got the puck back and floated it home.

2 - During one game, about midway through the 3rd, the player with the puck inexplicably quit moving, and nobody would get the puck from him. This resulted in NOTHING HAPPENING for the rest of the game. Strange.

  17. Elimination Draw Info

Top 16 teams are seeded into the next round (17th place is eliminated) as follows:

Top 4 Teams have a bye into Quarter-Finals

Next 6 are seeded into Elimination 'C'

Next 2 are seeded into Elimination 'D'

Next 4 are seeded into Elimination 'A'

The priority was to always give the #1 team the greatest chance of playing the lowest ranked team, although this is not guaranteed.

Just Little blurbs/rants on various aspects:

    Patrick Roy discovers Cloning

In total, Patrick Roy played 30 games, posting an impressive .920 Save % and a minimalistic .986 GAA along with 6 shutouts. With 50% of the teams using Roy as their starter, looks like he's popular for a reason.

Darcy Walachuk pulls off an upset

On paper, Zalex has the worst team by far in the tournament (Bob Beers and Gino Odjick being the "best" players) and was the favorite to be 17th place and eliminated. Zalex was crushed by a combined 14-1 score in his last 3 games, but squeaked into the next round thanks to the stellar play of Walachuk against Wags in the opening game, where he stopped 35 of 37 shots to carry his team to OT, where unlikely hero Dixon Ward scored the winner.

    Hull can't be stopped

Entering the elimination round, the highest scoring player is Freydey's Brett Hull (12 G, 1A), and as a unique player he also leads in Points/G (3.00) and Goals/G (2.57). TubaHero and Freydey are looking pretty smart right about now.

    Barraso stands on his head

Tom Barraso was picked only once, by IQ25, and showed why by putting a clinic: He won all 3 of his games, posting a stunning .973 Save % and .667 GAA with 1 Shutout. If he can carry his stellar play into the Elimination Round, IQ25 should have no problem winning the tournament.

    Schedule

Elimination 'A', 'B', and 'C' are all played tommorow, Quarter Finals and Semis are Wednesday, and Championship game is Thursday.

    Stats

-Players/Goalies are listed first as if they are all unique (i.e Lemieux on IQ25 is different than Lemieux on Wags), and then simply by name (i.e All Lemieuxs together).

  18. *bangs head against wall*

Sorry guys, It appears I was not fully awake when I made this up, it looks like in my excel sheet I shifted over just enough to exclude myself and shaftman.

Apologies, but on the flip side I have good news.

The ROM is set to go, and now after a quick adjustment to the pools/schedule i'll start simulating the preliminaries. Signups are now closed.

EDIT: Fixed the Pools above, schedule is fixed, I'll begin simulating soon and have the results up by tonight
