    Washington wins game 7 to take the 4-3 series win on the back of an Alexander Ovechkin 6 goal performance in game 7.

    I have been receiving instant messages about the ending date of the regular season. Currently, the season is scheduled to end on August 25th, as I stated in a previous update. At midnight on August 25th I will post an update. Please stay posted everyone and please, I say it a lot and I feel like a broken record but.... PLAY YOUR GAMES! I've been trying really hard to make things run smoothly for my first league and many coaches have put forth the time and effort to play their games. By not playing games or even giving the effort through IM or the forums(making a post never killed anyone) shows disrespect to the other coaches and myself. I will be using # of GP as the first criteria for a tie-breaker, the rules section states that "head-to-head" record will be used but now it will be the 2nd tie breaking factor.

    Now once the regular season is called to a halt and if there are games that were not played they will be decided in two ways:

    FF = Forfeit

    DNP = Did Not Play

    FFs will be handed to the coach that showed a lack/no effort in playing that particular game. A FF will count as a 1-0 loss. The best way to avoid a forfeit is by making a topic here on the NHL 94/09 Subforum's General Discussion Section. An example would be "(Insert team here) availability" and let everyone in the league know when you'll be available for your games (make sure you also state the names of the coaches you are looking for). I will be checking the forums to see which coaches have made topics and posts. Make sure you do this, I can't monitor you AIM conversations so if you tell me "well I tried to message so and so and they didn't respond" it won't work with me.

    DNPs are less complicated, if both coaches show the same effort or no effort then they will be awarded with a 0-0 tie that counts as a DNP. Sometimes you won't be able to make yourself available with another coach and that's understandable, but effort needs to be shown that you at least acknowledge that fact that you have games to play and that you want to get them in.

    To wrap it up: It's a lame way to end the season with FFs and DNPs becoming a possible factor in deciding the post season. By you not playing your games can cost another coach their spot in the post season. I do not want to resort to this, but please try and get games in by the 25th. Check back for an update.

    I figured it out, there were two threads post you and Atlanta's scores for games 1 and 2 and another thread for you games 3 and 4 so you have Atlanta accidentally had 6 games worked into the standings. I fixed it up and you'll see it on the next update.

    Until this afternoon it had been 3 days since either league had a game played. I had a busy weekend, sorry, but I was paying attention. There aren't quite enough games for me to do a full on standings update. But here is a list of coaches who still have games to play:

    A Division:

    Nothing in A league is clinched.

    In B league Wags and bartdogg have clinched their conferences. Myself, houli, nationals1, and orangeblack have also clinched playoff spots.

    The deadline was set for the 25th - I hope coaches are making the effort to play these games. Start making forum posts looking for each other - it would be a shame if FFs and DNPs had to decide playoff spots for some.
