1st Round Draft Picks Strategy by kingraph This is my list, and the reasons, with the following assumptions: 24-team draft league There are no trades I want to win the league I am playing against top A level opponents to win. Simple yes, or no question. Obviosly not till Classic is established, and winding down say maybe Thanksgivingish for a targeted draft start, or Dec 1st. If your not in good standing with your Classic participation you would probably be excluded (I'm not saying I'm going to be the commish, but if your not active in Classic I would probably think whoever runs the next GDL should it happen would take that into consideration).

Is there any word on GDL happening again?? I'm willing to help in any way needed to get it up and rolling.

It seems as if AJ is refusing to play me this season. That is cool. BUT, I want to say something. If we do meet up in the playoffs (round 3), I'm not going to waste my time playing this guy's game and let him do whatever he wants. I'm not going to tolerate any buffoonery. I'm not tolerating any garbage such as stupid play times because of "having no connection and time", and I'm not going to deal with his antics IN-GAME such as putting on +3 smoothing and refusing to take it off or scoring on lag spikes. There should be a hard deadline of 5-7 days. If we fail to reach the deadline primarily to AJ's stupid scheduling/antics, it's going to be a forfeit for AJ. If it's on …

Had some spare time on my hand and while researching my upcoming draft, I went through the players that have won the title. We had a similar one in NHL95 Manager league and while it will not tell that much where the players are controlled by humans, it's still a fun statistics and eventually some players might start to stand out, I was surprised with 3 titles with Duchesne for example. Moog also with 3 titles, while it's most likely only due to a draft position of stronger players and a random occurance _so far_. I did not list backup goalies and only separated the scratches on offence. The game has also evolved since most of these have been won, but at least it's for fun…

After refusing to play me last night, AJ has now kicked me from the GDL group chat and blocked me on AIM. This is good for AJ, as it saves the time he will waste in losing to me, and it also frees up some more time so he can leave his nice California condo and head over to Saskatoon to take more pictures at the bar. FPB/Seth, I can play whenever. I'll be ready.

Important note: This has not happened! YET! FPB is one of the highest skilled players, and finished near the top of the league. Aqualizard is a poor player all around! On paper, and off of paper, and in every way imaginable, FPB is likely to win 4 games straight! Unless.... You tell me my best strategy to beat him!! Me: I won 19 games, had a Goals Against AVG of 5.04, and Goals for of 3.43. In short, I score rarely and give up lots of goals! My one saving grace is I have Mogilny, and was able to get about 2,5 PPG with him. (Yes, I know that is a sad PPG for 89!) Ok. 1/4th of the league is hyper to finish games and punish the slackers. 1/4th of league is slackers, and the other 1/2 is stuck listening to this battle. However, it is obvious that an additional week is needed to finish the season with decent games played. Robro has been dealing with internet issues, and that has made it difficult for him to get his games in. Darko is on French F&ck time, and with the league's inactivity, has struggled as well. AJ has been messaging and trying his best to schedule games days ahead, but has found most of the slackers not connecting with him. Lupz seems to have hit some real life crisis, as he's been MIA. Pitt is ineligible for the playoffs, even if Aqua turns in a miracle run. Both are similar skill level/win %'s, so this is to help guys avoid DNP's. This has been the best GDL ever lol Has to be some kind of record for drop outs/replacements/re-replacements, clowning, etc??!? Get your games in boys. Season is ending soon enough and it'll be a little bit before we do another.
