I am online everyday for most of the day. I have one game with the professor of the weight hack. Hes disappeared and i am ready to play in the playoffs.

yeah i would say just get playoffs going...unfortunately people have been slacking off in all leagues ...january seems to be slacker month every year

OK, one more change (I've made so many, whats the difference?). EVERYONE will participate in the playoffs. I will give FF victories to the coaches that attempted to play their games but did not see their opponent. You have to post in this forum that you were on and your opponent did not show up. This is everyone's last chance to get their games in. I will be on at 6pm CST until about 8pm.
Tomorrow, I will set up the brackets and confirm the start date of the games. It will be set up like this:
#1 gets a bye
#4 vs #5 in a five game series. Winner advances to play #1 in a seven game series
#2 vs #3 in a seven game series. Winner goes to the division finals.
Division winners face off for the OSL Cup.
I need everyone to be on top of this so we don't drag the playoffs and we can attempt to get another season started.

Hey Michael,
Just a suggestion from one league organizer to another. Since there seems to be a stalemate to get those last few regular season games in. Perhaps start your playoffs now and conduct it like you are planing for your OSL tournament. I know it goes against your idea for the current playoffs but this way you're rewarding the guys that put the effort into play their games.
Have 4th seed vs 5th seed in both conferences conduct a play in series(say best of 5 if you want)....then the winner of those series plays 1st seed in their confernce in one semi final...and 2nd and 3rd seeds play in the other conference semi finals in the best of 7 format....and then carry on from there as you would normally.

I agree about wags. He picked up a team and then vanished into the NHL94 archives to study up on the weight hack.
In any case, I could just hand out the FFs for his games, but Vancouver, Chicago (me), Calgary, and Pittsburgh have mulitple games left to play. I was on last night looking for my remaining games and none of them appeared to be on.
Do we really want to hand out those FFs? I mean some coaches have half of their season as FF wins. I have no problem moving on to the playoffs, but some of these coaches that I haven't seen around are going to be a part of it.
I think it would be ridiculus to have FFs in the playoffs.
In any case, I guess we'll press on. Even though the season is a bust, I at least owe it to the coaches that stuck it out.

Attention Coaches: you have one more day to finish your games. Unless I see some progress (meaning more than a couple series played), I am shutting down the OSL and moving on to the invitational. We've had too many FFs to consider it a legitimate season.
I've been on (except last night) and haven't seen much of the coaches that needed to be caught up. I know "disasterpiece" tried to hook up with me, but he caught me at the time I happened to be away from my PC.
I think I have explained myself enough in various posts to justify my actions. I don't hold it against anyone if I have to close it down; I'll just chalk it up to experience. I know I expected alot from the coaches but in all fairness, I think I made my expectations clear.
Running/playing in a league takes time and commitment from everyone. I think a tournament will be easier since there will only be a few games to play.
If I do shut the league down, I apologize to everyones time that I "wasted". I did it for members who weren't a part of any of the leagues (like myself) and it turns out that most of them ended up FFing out.

Better yet, I'm organizing an invitational tournament that I posted in my Gens Old School League. Why not sign up for that since there are some vets participating in it.
And don't give me a cop-out like "ohhh, the pucks too small". It's the same game...
By that, I mean the nhl2008.bin file....

SUNGOD: How about you get some games against some vets and post the scores on your own forum post so we can see how full of BLEEP you may or may not be.
You split a series with a rook (NOTHING AGAINST The Rocket) but if you can't handle a newbie, how are you going to challenge an established vet???

Registration is now open for all NHL '94 members to sign up for the1st Annual Old School League Invitational Tournament. As soon as the Old School League season comes to an end, I will be setting everything up. I'm hoping to start in about a month depending on how long it takes to close out the season.
I am setting the sign-ups to either 8 or 16 teams. If I get more than 8 but less than 16, I will take the first 8 that signed up. I expect all coaches to meet the deadline standards and have a commitment to the tournament. I had a hard time keeping everyone together in the OSL and I don't want to have a bunch of FFs. Odviously, if I don't get seven other coaches I will scrap this idea and never bring it up again.
Below is the criteria:
--I will need your AIM and team choice when you sign up (making sure you pick one that isn't taken).
--We will use the NHL2008.bin file; the updated version that just came out.
Get it here if you don't already have it. I know a lot of you hate this ROM, but I need a break from the same 'ol NHL 94.
--8/16 teams depending on interest. One bracket for 8, Two brackets for 16.
--All series are best-of-seven
--Seedings will be based on your status in the forums (the # of posts)
As soon as the OSL season ends, I will set up the bracket and post rules, ect on the OSL website.

I'm hoping that everyone catches up this weekend because there have been no games played since New Years Eve. I was on the last couple nights and I couldn't find anyone. Remember, you only have until this coming Wednesday to finish your games.
I'll be on most of the weekend if you have games with me.

Thanks to all the coaches that reported in. We are still waiting on the Canucks (disasterpiece) to check in. If he doesn't report in by the end of the day tomorrow, then he will be eliminated.
No one has been playing any games in a while...finish up your games so we can close the season out.

Thanks very much to everyone, I enjoyed the season, and more importantly met alot of really classy guys.
Great series Jrod, u played like a true champion, this thing could have went either way. You are a great player, and more importantly a good sport.
This season and these playoffs meant the world to me. I am glad to have been able to accomplish what i have, and i will relish the memories forever.
Congrats to Jrod and to his accomplishments this season and playoffs. U played like seasoned vet and just fell short. You'll get em next year.
Thanks again to all those who have offered there advise and time.
A special mention to Eric Anthony for all his help and tips and all those beatings i took...lol. It really helped my game to learn from the best.
Also thanks to AJ,takeurpill666 and Kgman and all the others who put up with my questions and late night game requests. You guys are the real champs.

Finish what up? I was given FF wins for the rest of my games, and the forth playoff spot was eliminated. This season ended for me when you pulled the f'n plug on the Old school lg and began planning some other minor lg venture. Sdogg has left the building. Not a smooth move booting vets like thegreatone99.
First off sdogg, put out that joint you been smokin' and read the original post. I have not pulled the plug on anything. Don't give me s*** about the fact that we had some flakey coaches that decided that they couldn't play 15 games in one month. It's not my fault, I gave everyone pleanty of warning. I don't care if I booted the damn god of the internet off my league, I had a check point posted since day one that 6 players did not meet. I've already spoken to "gr8" and told him that its nothing personal. If someone wants to hold a grudge against me because of a game or a league that was doomed to fall apart from the get go, then the hell with them.
So are you in or not? You seem to be the only one having a hard time taking the fact that the playoffs had to be altered. This was an experiment....get over it.

Michael, I still don't see that Montreal Game 2 getting recorded on the site. Could you adjust that?
I only had 4 more games (Buf and Phi) left to play but I guess I'll get all FF wins. When is this league scheduled to start playoffs?
What game are you referring to? I see you have 1 game against Quebec and 1 against Detroit. I'll look over the results section again, but I don't see a report for those games.
As far as the playoffs go, as long as I get the coaches to check in, we'll start as soon as everyone finishes their games. My guess is that some coaches have given up.

Alright, well it looks like no one played any games last night, so FFs all around.
I was on for a couple of hours and observed who was on. I am going to hand out the appropriate FFs and will begin constructing the playoffs on the website. When I am finished, I will post the information.
