    rules are same as the current leagues

    5minute periods, no line changes, penalties, no off sides.

    Coaches will provide a list of teams they want in order of preference. I'll have a random draw for the order coaches will select and then assign teams accordingly from the lists provided. Hoping to get 10 teams but will certainly have more.

    Games will depend on number of entries...but I'm looking in the 30-45 game range....plus playoffs

    League will start after the current playoffs or earlier(if there's a general consensus).

    Important* Looking for committed players. please be respectful and dont sign up if you dont think you can commit.

    i agree and i think the big thing is if your a b leaguer and want some respect....earn it and get bumped up with your play, just like anything else u have to climb the ladder and i know there are some solid b league guys there that should def be in a

  9. Playoff Preview Analysis...SNES A

    1) Que vs 8) Mtl-beyond a tough series for either team to take in the first round, however, Que has been on a tear all season and has been very consistant in his play...the offense is firing and i think Que has the edge coming in having played basically a full season. Do not count shaka out though, the guy is one of the most complete players in the league and although he's been dormant im sure he is looking to seek revenge on last years exit.......biff calls this one 4-2 Que

    2)Pit vs 7) Buf- the pens have been surging after starting the season off 11-8, the coach rallied the troops and went on a 12 game tear...the offense is clicking, the d and netminding are finally performing like they should and pitt feels they are entering the playoffs on the right foot...having said that we will take no opponent lightly and look forward to a hard fought series....in my first game as a professional 94 player was beaten by mr. bs and haven't forgot that....biff calls this 4-1 pitt

    3)Htf vs 6)NYR - aside from the mtl/que series this one could be the most interesting in my opinion, battled with schwartz last year in rd 1 and gave me all i could handle, luckily i had a large supply of alexander keiths to lead me to victory lol, i as well have lost to nyr twice this season and was quite impressed with his play....biff calls 4-2 hart

    4)Phi vs 5)Bos -mcmarkis vs steveyboy, this has potential to be a good series as another cb boy has joined the league, mcmarkis is a solid player and has an above avg 1timer, can the caper rookie roll with him....4-1 philly

    1)Det vs 8)Cal - another tough 8 seed is lethal, this guy played awesome this season despite his record and took down a couple tough opponents this season, unfortunately for him he is up against rudy who finally played up to his potential this season as expected, was an offensive powerhouse all season but allows quite a few goals as well...will it be off or def that takes this one ???......biff calls it 4-1 Det

    2)LA vs 7)Edm -fenty and slimeball ..."lets get it on"...should be a great battle between two top vets...hard one to pick but i will call this one 4-3 fenty, just dont think slime is as dominant with the oil and fenty has been playing reg games all year

    3)Win vs 6)Van-should be a fast paced high scoring series, pokerchamp has bursted on the scene this year and is a welcome addition, can the rook hold on and take down the high flying canucks???....calling 4-2 Win

    4)Chi vs 5)Stl- prob the most watched series in the first round, energymike has established himself as an elite player this season and looks to keep proving himself with a rd 1 upset against the def champ. despite finishing 5th and a minus 8 in goal dif this guy proved himself in the playoffs last season and should not be taken lightly....because of lack of icetime im gonna call this one 4-3 Chi

    This is purely for entertainment value lol and hope no one on the short stick takes it seriously, good luck to all in the playoffs and hope everyone returns next season to turn this league into what it was before

    Playoffs are now posted for both SNES A and B. Feel free to e-mail your opponent and get started on the first round. Evan will be e-mailing everyone about the playoffs as well as the deadline (probably November 15th) for first round games.

    Also, in a number of cases the Admins adjusted playoff seeding to be different than the standings show. This is because certain teams had a lot of unplayed games and were possibly placed lower to give the guys who worked hard to play their games more credit than the current standings gave them.

    Now I'm going to say this preemptively before people start to comment...If you have a problem with this seeding, I understand that because it's not a perfect system. We feel we made good choices based on what we had to work with. Feel free to constructively criticize and discuss at will as that is what this forum is meant for.

    HOWEVER, what we WILL NOT tolerate any further is the open bashing and negative tone that has occurred in many of the preceding posts regarding this matter. This is not something that we do for a full-time job, this is something we have put together for the enjoyment of all, in our FREE time. We are learning from mistakes made and evolving the site and systems in place to improve this league to be even more fun than it already is, (and at least for me, despite losing on a frequent basis, NHL94 is pretty damn fun) Many of you appreciate our hard work, and we are happy that you do.

    Others have voiced displeasure on one or many occasions. As I said before, channel your displeasure into a brainstorming thread of what can be done to improve the league. If you have insights, share them with us. BUT MAKE SURE you leave out the snarky comments when you do so. If you have a negatively worded post, it's not going to be taken as seriously as it would otherwise have been. If you want to rant about how unfair this system is, you are NOT HELPING and you have a choice to make about whether you want to be a part of this community or not. Realize that there are better ways to effect change than to rail on us for putting together a crappy league.

    Whether you are happy or discontent with the league as it stands today, we hope you decide to contribute to our efforts to improve the community and the league. We appreciate, and will need your assistance even moreso as this league grows.

    i for one agree and the important thing is people realize that if everyone played most of their games that this would happen alot less, thanks for the great job guys, i def appreciate what u guys do and people need to voice that more rather then complain

    dude 1 player doesn't beat u, if they do then u need to practice your defense...i love pitt because lemieux is my favorite player and my friends actually banned them for me before but none of them would win with them...some people find a team they are good with ie look at quebec in the snes league, they guy is just a solid player, i actually did better with the rangers last year....so i dont think u can say 1 player can beat u, would be more like kgboy beat u using 1 player that u could not stop and lemieux will def go down, he is elusive but does not have near the speed of other top players so he is pretty easy to hit...

    Though... it's kind of sad that I'm cheering getting my games played... 40GP should be the norm, not the exception....

    And playing all 40 is really gonna bite me in the ass while I watch the rest of the players in the conference move past me in the standings with all the wins they will get for games they didn't play... but meh.

    40 GP!!!

    good stuff dude, hopefully this carries over for other people and def should be a norm and not an accomplishment

    and for the record i know the goals your talking about ..they suck ...bigtime...and my friends prior to starting in this league would refer to such a goal as a "cut" and we would not allow them...BUT ...when joining the league they did not have this rule sooooo....if your really a master or man of the game ...to be the best wouldn't u want to be able to defend against all methods regardless of how flashy it is or not... i feel like a more complete player now that i have learned to defend it...

    dude it was your first few games, u cant expect to just come in and dominate....otherwise you would be the 94kid...lol..jk...ahem...u need better control with your goalie if someone scored from there, u did it twice in our "first" game in which your controller "wasn't working" ...hopefully u have a change of heart and stick it out or maybe drop down to the b div....but there are alot of solid players here and im more then willing to help u out with your game....cheers
