Offsides "Off" please
-
i have an honest question, how many of the guys that want it turned off have played more than a couple games with it turned on?
the opinions of those who have played lots of games both off and on mean a lot more to me than the opinions of those who have only played with it either off or on. since i have only played with it on, i dont even consider my own opinion as having much weight.
I cannot tell a lie. I have played with offsides a very limited amount of times. Every time I tried, frustration with the poor AI and bad passing kicks in almost immediately.
But then again, I ussually play with crappy low rated teams.
-
The polls results you posted shows a landslide in favor of off-sides "off." But chances are the voting is skewed due to non-league members voting.
Dmitry - It's your call but perhaps we should ask the players to post their vote along with their Round 4 pick.

Hey all.
Since an awards topic was posted, it made me think... we should make a subforum here, with one topic for each award in each of the four leagues, each with a poll with all the players names (and team names for those of us like me who dont memorize the names of each team).
An even BETTER idea would be to have an awards form that people can fill out (that way, people dont see the results until the voting is over). Unless invision allows for polls that you cant see the result until the poll ends (which i -THINK- is possible with invision)
Much easier/better/more organized then everyone posting with their picks.
Cool idea.
But one aspect is how do you prevent random person that was not in the league from voting? I personally think the votes should come from your peers that were in the league.
Or how do you prevent someone from voting for themselves?
Also, I've attempted to make polls using the forum in the past. Man is it tedious!
But your right. A good old poll or voting form would be the best. But just not sure how to implement it.

Chicago Blackhawks choose: Eddie Belfour

I'm not sure if this was covered somewhere but will there be player trades?
-
Sweet. Thanks!

Hey Buccslaps, from your name I am guessing you are a SNES player? This is a Gens league. Are you joining the Dark Side?
Just checking. That's cool if your crossing over.

Also, What are the plans for the drafting process?
Live Chat? (very hard to coordinate, but leads to best lineups)
Draft Via the Forum? (take turns on the forum. This would take a long time)
Paper Draft? (everyone submits on paper)
Other method?
-
Due to injuries and penalties we will have to draft backup players.
I think in the NHL94.net draft league we did:
6 wingers
4 Defensemen
2 goalies
We did it in a chat room and it took a lot longer then expected. We tried to set a time limit to pick, but i dont think anyone was keeping time.

Common Crossbar, give Kgboy some credit. Lemeuix falls down when your breathe on em. Easily the most overrated player in the game.
It's the playoffs. They say anything can happen.

I guess I just like the wider open game play. I have played with offsides on and just simply thought it was a drag. Its just a lot of work to me to keep that whistle from blowing. Especially with the bad passing in Gens.
-
*waits for the obligatory insult hurled my way*
Why do you say that? This is a pretty friendly community for the most part.
-
I prefer offsides off. It is simply too many stopages in play for my taste.
-
I good beating is a good learning experience. There's no magic tricks or secret codes to this game. If someone just kicked your ass, suck it up and learn from it. If someone else does a certain deke, slapper, etc, you can do it too.
-
That Genesis release date is wrong.
I'm pretty sure Marc is right. I pre-purchased it from a Babbage's and it arrived my 1st semester of college.
-
I originally voted Boston, but as a WHOLE team, its definately Chicago. (can a vote be changed?)
Even without Smith and Chelios, Roenick and Belfour make this team the best in the game.

Are you on wireless?
From my experience, even with an excellent signal, wireless can signficantly mess with your ping times.
