Having picked the biggest climber this season, I hope i'm not a chump. Emerson in second cetainly seems odd. I mean, how many people really know about his skills as easily as Roenicks, sakics, etc. However, consider this. The guy had 4/4 speed and weighs the same as Roenick does. He's a good hitter with decent passing, and with Dino at center, it's a pretty good combo.

I am one of the guys who went 3 Forwards in 3 rounds. I knew for sure I was going 2 forwards in the first two rounds, and Emerson and Dino make a great pair, but the problem is I can't always rely on Dino and Emerson doesn't have the best shot. So I went with Sanderson, who can make some respectable slappers. Now that my offense is set, D comes next. I'm fairly confident in my defensive skills, especially manual goalie. The way i've found it, slower goalies make it easier to manual than a lightning fast Belfour.

The Quebec Nordiques select Geoff Sanderson to add extra punch to their offensive line.

I was growing more and more dissapointed with newer NHL incarnations, and as a last ditch effort went online to read reviews for the newest 2K and EA incarnations to see if they were worth it (94 is great, but being the only avid fan out of my friend group, it's hard to enjoy playing against an AI that can barely handle you moving anyway but in a straight line ). Through a series of links, I ended up at nhl94.com, and i've been a rabid fan once again ever since.

Guys, the teams might not be ultra fast superstar teams now, but that's FINE. You can deal with average players and use them well, especially if every other team has the same basic talent.
-
Expansion got voted down, and in my opinion, the talent pool is fine right now. I've got Ciccarelli and Emerson. Meaning I have a superstar and a semi-star in Emerson, who can hit like a champ and keep up with Dino's fast skating. Every team should basically end up like an NHL team: They have 1 or 2 super stars, then a whole bunch of above-average or average players. It works out great IMO.

Caps lock is cruise control for cool, as they say.
There are no openings in the league currently. You can get put in the waiting list, but you will be put at the end. I'm sorry to say that with this league consisting of mostly active vets, you will most likely not play in the league this season. There is always hope next season however.

I dont get it... Logan was just on and he didnt pick?
This is the only thing I disagree with, it shouldnt take guys forever to make a pick when they know its their turn.
I knew it was my turn, but the problem was I didn't have enough time to look through the available players at the time. My computers internet was a POS today.
-
You forget awesomerino, there is 24 coaches, most of which have jobs and/or school. It's tough for all of them to be available to make their picks in quick succession.
-
Now if only I could repeat these in league play...
-
Although Sandstrom and Luc might seem like a bad pair, it all depends on your play style.
-
Have not noticed that at all. Worth checking out I guess.

Gretz has a ugly shot, but he's a good skater, great at dekes, and he's good for setting up one-timers. Don't underestimate the great one.
Now Oates, there's a horribly overrated guy. I can never use him properly. That 93 overall is a joke.
-
Brian Bradley being picked after the first round is a steal for whoever gets him. Nice pick by gr8. You have to overlook that he's on Tampa and check out his stats.
-
I like 4 vs division, 3 vs conference, 2 against other conferences. However I see how this can skew the stats. So 4 vs division, and 2 vs everybody else works for me.

I tried to balance out all the divisions equally. I feel these, possibly with sligh revision, or Donchs, make for the best approach. It's hard to judge talent, as some old vets that were once amazing might be rusty, or a coach might be much more talented than shown in previous seasons, but going by ear, I think the skill is fairly evenly divided.
-
Gr8, to be totally honest, those divisions do not work for me at all. They don't seem balanced all around, as practically all the (if I may) 'elite' vets are in one conference. They should be distributed evenly.
-
When the Donch division is implemented, may I suggest he replaces Dallongevilles. You can't replace the other 3 for obvious reasons:
Wboy : NOSE makes making new rosters easy as pie
Dmitri : Created the GDL and the fantastic looking and running site for it.
Evan : Brought all of us together in the first place.
