1. Before i hit the expansion stuff i will explai some of the nuances of the cap system not all is similar to fvhl.

A player on a one year deal is AUTOMATICALLY RELEASED IN FREE AGENCY after the season no need to do anything. A 1 year player may be released at any time without cap penalty.

2 year players may not be released . if they are they are subject to half the penalty for year 1 and full penalty for year 2. e.g: 10 million means 5 million year one and 10 million year 2 for penalties. A two year player becomes a one year player only AFTER FREE AGENCY AND THE ROOKIE DRAFT. the key word is AFTER you may not drop a 2 year player without penalty untill he becomes a 1 year player.

3 years is the max you can sign a player after that he becomes a unrestrictyed free agent. any tema may bid on him

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

cap max will remain unchanged for the simple reason there will be no increase in revenue so there will be no more or less money to spend on players.

there will be no cap minimum.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

rookie draft at the end of the playoffs the first thing that will happen is all 1 year players will be released into free agency. However before free agency there will be the rookie draft.

2 rounds . A rookie is someone whos first year was in the 1994-1995 season e.g martin brodeur. if a player was not a rookie that year he is still elgible to be drafted if it is his first year in the ea sports nhl hockey series. all players not drafted become unrestricted free agents.

after the rookie draft is the free agency bidding process again players will be named in blocks with a public and private bid system.

The salaries of the rookies will be determined using a formula taking into consideration the draft position of each player. ROOKIES MAY BE SIGNED TO 1,2 OR 3 YEAR DEAL DEPENDING ON WHAT THE COACH WANTS.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok expansion is coming guys but i dont want anyone to worry the established franchises will barely feel the 4 new franchises arrival

heres the plan

the top 10 teams of this year meaning it ends at fpb will be in the Super ocnference seperated randomly into 2 divisions . so 2 five team divisions. the bottom 6 will be in the rlegation divison also to add the 4 expansion teams will be in the relegation division making 10. again 2 divisions of 5. at the ned of season 2 the bottom 2 of the super power divison will be relegated to the relegation conference for the following year and will not participate in any playoffs.

the top 2 for the "B" conference will participate in the dynasty cup playoffs and be promoted the following year to the super power conference.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PROTECTION LIST 1 GOALIE

4 FORWARDS

3 DEFENCEMAN

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE 4 FORWARSS THEN NO FORWARD MAY BE REMOVED FROM YOU TEAM. SAME WITH D AND GOALIES. NO TEAM CAN LOSE MORE THEN 1 PLAYER SO BASICALLY WE ARE TALKING ABOUT 16 PLAYERS WHO WILL BE GIVEN TO 4 EXPANSION TEAMS.

BASICALLY EACH TEMA LOSSES ONE MAX SOME WILL LOSE ZERO.

THE EXPANSION TEAMS WILL BE ADDED TO THE FOUR TEAMS ALLREADY IN THE LOTTERY FOR THE DRAFT.

FREE AGENCY EXPANSION TAMS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BID LIKE EVERYBOSY ELSE. EXPANSION TEAM MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 3 PLAYERS ON THERE ROST E AT THE END OF THE EXPANSION DRAFT

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEXT YEAR SCHEDULE 2 SCENARIOS

#1- 5 GAMES VS ALL CONFERENCE OPPONENTS = 45 GAMES + 2 GAMES VS NON CONFERENCE OPPONENTS =20 45+20= 65 GAMES TOTAL

OR# 2- 4 GAMES VS ALL CONFERENCE OPPONENTS = 36 GAMES +2 GAMES VS NON CONFERENCE OPPONENTS =20 36+20=56 GAMES TOTAL

I PREFER #2

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THIS IS WHAT AWAITS US NOW

-AWARDS HANDED OUT

-END OF PLAYOFFS

-TRADE PERIOD //FRANCHISE RELOCATION

-DB UPDATE / SITE UPDATE

-EXPANSION DRAFT

-ROOKIE DRAFT

2. Some of you have requested to change franchises i.e: change from city to city.

-here are some guidelines to changing franchises must be an actual franchise that has been in the nhl or is presently in the nhl.

- you cannot change franchises without a valid reason E.G : 2 flames franchises

-No 2 franchises maybe in the same city except the nyi and nyr

-no 2 teams may have the same name e.g: flames

the reason for thsi is having same names creates confusion for the db and the schedule making process

the reason for this is the banners and site design are effected everytime a franchise leaves or chnages location.

I have agrred to allow the TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS TO MOVE TO PHOENIX AND BECOME THE COYOTES. one other request was denied.

Also one of the MINEESOTA FRANCHISES WILl HAVE TO MOVE WETHER IT BE THE WILD OR NORTHSTARS ONE HAS TO GO IF THEY CANNOT COME TO AN AGREEMENT WHICH FRANCHISE IS TO MOVE IT WILL BE DECIDED BY A BEST OF 3 SERIES TO RETAIN THE RIGHT OF THE MINNESOTA NAME RIGHTS.

ALSO THE 2 FLAMES FRANCHISES ONE WILL ALSO HAVE TO MOVE IF THERE IS NO AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TWO THEY WILL ALSO PLAY A 3 GAME SERIES TO DECIDE WHO KEEPS THE FLAMES NAME RIGHTS

3. I found this way a bit easier to understand (adapted from magoo's post):
FOR PLAYERS:

total = (agility) + (speed * 1.5) + (offensive * 1.5) + (defensive) + (shot_power * 0.5)
+ (checking) + (stick_handling_value * 1.5) + (shot_accuracy) + (endurance * 0.5) + (pass * 0.5)

if total < 25
x = 25 + total
else
x = 2*total

x = rounddown(x)

if x > 99
overall_player = 99
else
overall_player = x

NHL95 NOTE: for stick_handling, use this table to find the needed value :

sth => sth_value
0 => 0
1 => 1
2 => 1
3 => 2
4 => 2
5 => 2
6 => 3
7 => 3
8 => 3
9 => 4
a => 4
b => 4
c => 5
d => 5
e => 5
f => 6

FOR GOALIES:

total = ((agility * 2.25) - (0.25 * (agility % 2)))
+ ((defensive * 2.25) - (0.25 * (defensive % 2)))
+ ((puck_ctl * 2.25) - (0.25 * (puck_ctl % 2)))
+ ((stick_r * 0.5) + ((stick_l * 0.5) + ((glove_r * 0.5) + ((glove_l * 0.5)

( "%" is the modulo/remainder operator)

if total < 25
x = total + 25
else
x = 2*total

x = rounddown(x)

if x > 99
overall_goalie = 99
else
overall_goalie = x

ok thats crazy!!! you figured this out wow

4. just want to mention im the one who ended his 25 game streak and i hope to meet him in the gdl playoffs. I have devised a plan of ninja tactics , black magic and spritual voodoo which will lead me to victory and if all else fails i shall call on the power of grey skull!!!!

5. DYNASTY CUP PLAYOFF PREVIEW

(1)PITT VS (8)CHI

The pens seem to be the team to beat heading into the playoff. Carse had an impressive season basically taking down anything that stood in his way. With Doug Gilmour leading the way and the stellar play of Dino Ciccarelli , carse had his boys going all year.

PENS KEYS TO WIN:

-continue to pund like he did all year

- get solid goaltending

- shut down the neutral zone and J.R

sungod6162 (11:07:13 PM): The Black Hawks stumbled out of the gate as the coach figured how to use his team. Sometime in mid season he found his form and order was restored. To make himslef even better hokkee defeated Jrod in 2 games in the play to have the right to face Carse. Dont be fooled by his 8 place seeding hokke is as skilled as they come and is more then capable of giving carse a run for his money.

Balckhawks KEYS TO WINNING:

-J.R NEEDS to carry this team on his back

-defence need to be solid and stepu with a solid transitional game

-Be physical best way to beat a bully is punch him in the face

(2)ATL Vs (7) HFD

Habs is a master of the slow and steady game nothing flashy just solid in all aspects of the game. He will need to get ready for bo a different type of opponent one that presses all the time. If anyone can handle it its the calm and steady Atlanta flames.

ATL KEYS TO WINNING

-slow pace wins the race make bo play his game

-slow bo down in the neutral zone

- shoot alot a suspect goalie possibly on the other side

Bo has this team reved up a high flying team dont count them out in this series as they are the best 7 seed you will ever see. Solid in all positions on the ice porbably the most start studded team you can find. to make matter more difficult for his opponents bo rare losses 3 or 4 in a row. He can score in bunches the only achillies this year has been his goalie.

WHALERS KEYS TO WINNING:

-Protect burke do not give up a lot of shots

-speed up the game

7. Toilet Cup

(1) Jrod Bruins Vs (8)jtakkunen Northstars

(2)FlamingPavel Nordiques Vs(7) xdeaths Leafs

(3) Freyday FlamesVs (6) leif Avalanche

(4) Zalex Colombus Vs (5) Chris Dudda Wild

Here is my breakdown Of The 1st round in the toilet Cup

(1) Jrod Bruins Vs (8)jtakkunen Northstars

Looks like a mismatch an elite player in Jrod and a relatively unknown in Jtakkunen who is playing in hist first league. You need to take a closer look at this one Jrod will have all the pressure on him with Jtakunnen having nothing to lose. to make matters more intresting jtakunen finished the season strong maybe a fight in this one or will jrod simply impose his will on the less experience player? stay tuned

Offence : Jrod

Defence: Jrod

Goalie: Jrod

Experience: Jrod

Intangibles:Jrod

Streaking: Jtakunen

(2)FlamingPavel Nordiques Vs(7) xdeaths Leafs

Another real intresting series here. FPB comes in as the favorite and has proven can be an elite player when he stays focused on the other hand no one can deny his dispointing season this year. Xdeath on the other hand finished strong and began to roll with the big boys. The One big question remains can FPB put it together and bring home the first ever Toilet Cup TM? He will need to be more consitent and use his skills to take advantage early....last thing anyone wants is to be trailing against xdeaths who can seal up the middle pretty fast. WE may have an upset if Fpb does not take his opponent seriously.

Offence: FBP

Defence:FPB

Goalie: Xdeaths

Experience: Draw

Intangibles:FPB

Streaking:Xdeaths

(3) Freyday FlamesVs (6) leif Avalanche

A very intresting match up in this one. Frey has to be considered a heavy favorite but Leif has something frey does not and thats #33. If frey get into a funk it may be too late and Leif might to the unthinkable an defeat frey. Frey need to use the body and create many scoring chances. On Paper Frey should run away with this one but lets jsut say vegas wouldnt put all there money on an easy sweep. Leif on the othe rhand need to ride the #33 and get some goals form his big guns. The transitional game will be huge in this one.

Offence: Frey

Defence: Frey

Goalie: Leif

Experience: Draw

Intangibles: Frey

Streaking: Frey

(4) Zalex Colombus Vs (5) Chris Dudda Wild

Here is likely the best series of the 1st rd in the toilet cup. Zalex who seemed to have put his game together and made a push towards a dynasty cup spot but saw it all fall apart on a losing streak versus MR. CARDIAC kid Chris dudda. Both guys have the talent and this may be a career making series as the losser may be labeled a stepping stone while the winner a futur star. Zalex need to use bure and impose his style of fast paced game on chirs dudda. Dudda needs consitency and better deicion makin in his own zone. We may look back at this one and say this is where it all began or ended or each of these guys.

Offence : Zalex

Defence: Draw

Goalie: Dudda

Experience: Draw

intangibles: Dudda

Steeaking: Zalex

9. i rather replace people then give points for unplayed games i dont want it to come to that but if it does that is what iwill do. i appreciate that 14 owners got there games in on TIME. I will try to accomadate eveyrone but there is a limit.

let's get it done

10. well said bothats why i wont award points for games not played. Sebe missed th eintial deadline and the zalex has been no show for 3 days. bottom line get the game s in or the games dont count.

meanwhile hokke and jrod can play there one game play in playoff game to determine who plays carsw in the 1 round and who goes to the toilet cup playoff

11. playoffs will begin sunday....i need time to end the season reset the dband make the playoff page

ill have the match ups soon meantimne get seb and zalex to play the games or all 3 games will be candeled meaning no points

12. Ok this is a very bad debate,

Genesis is head andshoulders better.

Let me explain,

- the most crucial part to any game is the frame rate it allows for s,oothness and fluidity in any game. Genesis is superior in this regard and the animation simply looks likeit was meant to be.

1-frame rate

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-the hitting is alomost laughable in the snes version. It's as if the guy that is hit simply collapses to the ice for his daily nap.

2- hitting a integral part of the game

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The controls are so much better in the genesis version. Carefull when i say this i mean they are more realistic and have less of a delay. the passingin the snes version is almost like a game of blades of steel. rarely any bad bounce of a skate or a deflected pass. Seems like he " makes the pass" everytime.

3-controls

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

graphically the only thing i like better in the snes version is the ice color. the logos are nice in gens the banners are almost identical but the player have faces, the goalie skates ect

4-graphics

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What i like to call intangibles are so much better on the genesis version From music, to sirens to the way ron bar just breaks it down on the gens version is so much better.

5-intangibles

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do i like thesnes version : yes

do i think this is a reasonble debate no!

i challenge anyone who plays the snes to play the genisis exclusively for a month they will fall in love with its intristic qualities. I know snes guys get mad when we crap on the inferior sister of nhl gens but facts are facts and these are compelling arguments based on fact not opinion.

Now if i offended the snes boys Im sorry but Gens version is sooooooooooo much better

let the war begin

13. Pittsburgh Penguins (CARSE)

The good: Won the presidents trophy and was a like a buzz saw as they went through the 42 game schedule. A balnced team with 2 good threats to score the pens look lik the team to beat heading into the playoffs.

the bad: two losses to ice storm.....maybe ice has carses number?

the ugly: an absolute checkin machine carse may check his way to a dynasty cup

Minnesota Northstars jtakkunen

the good: finished strong as got 3 out of a possible 4 points against a playoff caliber opponent in jrod

the bad: 7 wins all year and had some long losing streaks

the ugly: in the toilet cup but a sudden burst may at the end may help build confidence as jtakkunen goes after the toilet cup

ATLANTA FLAMES( HABS)

THE Good: they say steady pace wins the race and all season thats what the atlanta flames have been. slowly and quietly playing solid hockey all year they rarely played a bad game. No one would be suprised to see habs put his hands on the Dynasty cup

the bad:a stunning 6-1 loss to leif near the end of the year. Possibly a bad game but those kind of losses sometimes make you question your game.

the ugly: the worst face off guy in the league? that just cant be

Toronto Maple leafs xdeaths

the good : had decent season when you consider took over a team that was 0-11. he built some positives for the futur and could make some noise in the toilet cup

the bad: plagued by inconsistency and a line up the coach doesnt like he went through some tough times this year

the ugly: the only franchise to have more then 2 owners has had 5 different ones . The t.o franchise is likely to move after this year and hopefully get rid of those bad spirits for good.

Montreal Canadiens Sungod

the good: TEEMU! had a year for the ages outscoring 7 teams all by himself. an offensive machine the canadiens are a danger everytime they play

the bad: little if any secondary scoring from larmer and kneely. The canadiens lost key games to zales and xdeaths. this lack of consitency may show in the dynasty cup playoffs

the ugly: A team with this much offence should win more games tehy dont....stay tuned

Colorado Avalanche Leif

the good: leif took over for fvhole who had 1 win through hi s first 10. leif did some postive things and instantly made colorado a viable opponent capable of wiining games.

the bad: a dreary record down the strech and a bad begining by fvhole allowed the avalanche to fin themselves in the toilet cup.

the ugly: 0-6 and 1 in ot games not exactly what i would call the cardiac kid

New your rangers Vocally caged

the good: a trip to the dynasty cup playoffs and a division title.

the bad: will not have home ice past the 1st round and will draw a difficult opponent round 1.

the ugly: that damn pass goal watch for it lol

Minnesota Wild Chris dudda

the good : 5 overtime wins to lead the league, played inspired hockey most of the first half of the season.

the bad : after a promising start chris is relegated to the toilet cup. his game seemed to vanish in the second half.

the ugly : was my pick to sneak into the playoffs..dispointed a few of us hhopefully can bounce back with a strong playoff in the toilet cup

buffalo Sabres Ice storm

the good: Known as a fearless player "ice: did not disapoin this seson his tough d and manual goalie control propelled him to big victories againt the upper echelon players of the league. to top that he gets a trip to the dynasty cup where he most likely will upset someone

the bad: could it be possible to have a bad year with 92 goals? in this case maybe as mogilny came in as one of the favorites to win the scoring title he came up with 92 goals. playing alonside the talented but tempermental peter klim may have taken points away from the rugged russian . Have these two meshed in time for the playoffs?

the ugly: giving up 17 goals to the montral canadiens in 2games

colombus Blue jackets Zalex

the good: an offensive machine in spurts has upset the top teams in the league. Incredible wins and some big time upsets marked his rookie season.

the bad: by far and away the most inconsitent coach can win 10-3 and lose 11-0 the next game. need to get it in gear to win the toilet cup

the ugly: a 3 shot performance will be rembered as a very ugly moment of season 1

Ottawa Senators SEBE

the good: a top caliber player when he puts his mind to it could finish3 rd in the league (if he plays his damn games)

the bad: has a dr jeckyl mr hyde thing going.....trailing in playing his games to boot

the ugly : delaying the league 24 hours lol

Calagary Flames Freyday

the good : a beast at time can get even the best players of there games with his relentless attack and stiffleing defence

the bad : relentless attack and stifling defence can disapear pretty fast. loses concentration and if down rarely comes back

the ugly: could have made it to the big dance if not for some losses in must win games against lesser opponents

chicago Blackhawks hokeeFan

the good: made the playoffs despite a horrid start and managed to complete a season without any major meltdowns

the bad: A streaky player there is no reasonable explanation why hokke got off to such a bad start

the ugly: no secondary scoring past jr....cliff ronning???

the Quebec Nordiques flamingbavelbure

The good : the #1 seed heading into the toilet cup. in all likely hood will win the toilet cup has the skill an ability to be in the dynasty cup.

the bad: flamingbavelbure is one of those guys you feel isnt quite there yet needs to prve he can win on a consitent basis. if he doesnt win the toilet cup many may question his ability to come up big in the clutch.

The ugly: a 9-1 drubbing to the hands of carse where he only got 1 shot

ouch!!

Hartford Whalers Bo:

the good : As solid as they come balanced offence with a solid d. qualifies for the dynasty cup.

the bad: not winning the division may hurt bo as we will play all his games on the road and may lead to bo being bounced early against a high ranked opponent

the ugly: 1-5 record vs Vocally caged cost him the division and may cause bo to want to avoid him in the playoffs.

Boston Bruins JROD

the good: Took over a abandoned for dead bruins team and got them to the playoffs.

the bad: a shotty d at time had lead to some serious collapses. need to be more of a defender to get anywhere in the playoffs.

the ugly: john blue and darren puppa not good.

there it is

14. this thread would not be complete without the dillusional thoughts of angryjay. First of all you have no idea what i am even talikng about since you have benn gone for more then a month. Amazing how you came up with being the cause of people not playing games because i started a league.

You are quite the card, i think you should post less and play more. Because when you post it makes me realise how ridiculous you really are. At least when you play you are tolerable.

I have no idea why you would bash me for stating my opinion. This is added to a long list of attempts to categorize me as "difficult". I believe if logan simply took the time to listennot just to me but otheres in the league the league would br in a lot better shape.

Instead there has been 10 replacement coaches.........lets talk about facts not what your imagination seems to draw up.

I stand by everything i have said and it had to be said i wont pretend everything is fine when its not. As history has proven maybe i have a point.....see past angryjay stupid non sesical comments
