Hey guys,
I just got back from a short trip and noticed that a few guys have been messaging me for trades and games. I had set my gmail to not available and haven't been on Aim, so I don't know why this is happening. I wasn't getting these messages on my phone either. I apologize if it seems like I've been ignoring everyone. I think this has happened to a few guys on Aim.
Extra apology to LA Robbie who has been trying to get our Blitz games in for a couple of weeks now.

I apologize for being AWOL for the past couple of weeks. I've been unable to connect through gens, so I did a reinstall of Windows, but that didn't seem to help. I'm visiting my family for Thanksgiving, but will be online later in the week to try again.
LA Robbie - I think that your inbox is full. Can you pm me to arrange the two games that we need to play?

This happened again tonight, but with Labs. When gens is about to start, it prints a bunch of gibberish on the top of the window, and the game doesn't start up for me. I've tried redownloading gens and the rom, rebooting my computer, using a different ham server. I'm not going through a router, and I disabled Windows firewall. I'm running out of ideas. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Next step will be to reinstall Windows, but I'd like to avoid that if possible. -
Can you give the newbies an overview of trading for this league, or point us to a thread that explains things?

A couple of other points - I can't ping him through ham, even if we are on the same network. However, I believe he was able to ping me. Also, I'm not going through a firewall or router, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Please load the save state in the emulator first and see if it is the correct save state before uploading. Try again.
Thanks Chaos. I didn't realize that I could reload a network game... I should have tried that first.

Sorry, i tried uploading it again, and I am getting the message that it was already uploaded. Now that same game shows up twice again. Can you delete it once more? I'll see if Sicarius is okay with me simming it and uploading the result.
I'm 1-11, so I really want my win!
If it doesn't work this time, I'll just take the loss.

I've had an idea of making an NES Ice Hockey rom, where you can only pick small (fast and easy to knock down, lousy shots), medium (average at everything), or fat guys (slow but great shooting), but never got around to it. It might work better as a league though.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure if we need another league right now. It might be preferable to get Blitz going first. Another idea would be just to use the overall rating (you could use a custom formula if you don't like the default) that corresponds to the salary. That way everyone could customize their teams how they like. If you limit the amount of speed, size, etc., then I think that most teams would end up pretty similar.

Sorry to nag, but does anyone know what the status of the league is? I assume it takes a lot of work to setup the site, so I'm not trying to rush anyone. Just wondering if we have an ETA....

Another idea would be to run some feeder leagues at the same time, while having a promotion/delegation system. That way you could promote the guys who show up to play. A set schedule should help reduce the DNPs, but I think we need to try more than one thing right now. I think we need to get some new blood here rather than try to keep the current guys motivated. Maybe this idea would help as well.

Of course you are still in, I think Icestorm is just bummed to see another dependable coach replaced. It's been 3+ weeks since the last checkpoint and Frey hasn't played a single game. GL!

If you guys still want me in this league, I should be able to get a bunch of games in this weekend. I'll be online most of tonight, and part of the day tomorrow. Not sure about the rest of the weekend, but I always answer my PMs.

Maybe we should make an aim group for general exhibition games outside of specific leagues??? It might be easier for the new guys to find games that way.
