It appears that the first two rounds have gone fairly smoothly so we'll continue with this format for the time being.
The draft order flips again back to what it originally was in ROUND 1. Any trades and we will try to keep the draft order updated. (see the thread on trades in Coach's Corner if you have no idea what I'm talking about.)
Here is the draft order:
1)drinnagh - Toronto Maple Leafs - Mark Messier
2)metzgerism - San Jose Sharks - Steve Larmer
3)nhltrippin - Dallas Stars - Zarley Zalapski
4)houlanov - Florida Panthers - Pierre Turgeon
5)PondHcky1 - Quebec Nordiques - Eric Lindros
6)gihtarman - Montreal Canadiens - Brian Leetch
7)BobKudelski26 - Ottawa Senators - Grant Fuhr
8)prodigyof94 - Chicago Blackhawks - Brett Hull
9)masterof94 - Edmonton Oilers - Gary Roberts
10)theval99 - Boston Bruins - Jaromir Jagr
11)fenty62 - Los Angeles Kings - Al Iafrate
12)xgrad06 - Vancouver Canucks - Al MacInnis
good luck with the picks
Here is the updated list of players with the drafted players highlighted:
-
Prodigyof94 asked us if he could pursue the option of potentially trading draft picks with other coaches. Although we think it would be extremely rare for a situation like this to occur, we decided to allow the trading of picks effective immediately. However, all trades must be posted on the forum (preferably in this thread) with BOTH coaches confirming the trade. The trade will not be approved until both coachs have confirmed it. Note that already drafted players ARE NOT allowed to be traded, only picks. There will be a 1-2 week trading period where players can be traded at the end of the draft.

And the first pick of the Inaugural SNES Draft League draft is ..... waiting.. waiting
I know, hahaha, just waiting on drinnagh (tony twist) right now... he's the only one that we haven't talked to about the draft yet and he just happens to be first overall pick

2)metzgerism - San Jose Sharks - Ed Belfour
3)nhltrippin - Dallas Stars - Wayne Gretzky
4)houlanov - Pittsburgh Penguins - Patrick Roy
5)PondHcky1 - Quebec Nordiques - Ray Bourque

10)theval99 - Boston Bruins - JR
11)fenty62 - Los Angeles Kings - Adam Oats

Please reply to this thread with your pick IN THE ORDER IT APPEARS ABOVE! To help other people connect forum names with AIM names, please say "The Toronto Maple Leafs select ________" with your own team name inserted. We will try to update this thread as often as possible with the selections.
Good luck with the picks for Round 1!

Also remember,
This Draft consists of 12 rounds (picking 12 players). You will need 6 Forwards, 4 Defence, 2 Goaltenders... no more, no less to complete your roster. You can pick Forwards, Defencemen or Goaltenders at any point, as long as you don't exceed the limit of 6 F 4 D and 2 G for your roster.
Good luck with the picking!

Pittsburgh 4 @ Boston 3
Boston 5 @ Pittsburgh 6
Boston 7 @ Pittsburgh 6

Hey Everyone, since all the coaches selected their teams we're all set to begin the draft!
We would like to get 1 round in per 24 hours. This is obviously going to be very difficult to do because coach's cannot pick whenever they want, they have to pick in order and one slow guy, slows down the entire draft. So, for the first round, we will begin with Drinnagh's pick as early as possible tomorrow (Thursday, July 3rd) morning/afternoon. You can even pick late night tonight if you wish Drinnagh. Following drinnagh will be metz, then mark etc... DO NOT PICK OUT OF ORDER! It will mess everything up and we'll have to start again from the place where the person picked out of order. Late tonight I will start a topic titled "Round 1", each coach is to reply in this thread with their pick IN ORDER and the round will finish with my last pick. If it goes wayyyyy too long between picks (like 24 hrs) then I will authorize the pick to be skipped and we move onto the next coach. The coach that skips his pick will pick at the END of the first round then get returned to his previous position in the order for Round 2 (hopefully this won't happen). If we find that Round 1 has taken WAY too long, we'll switch to plan B of our draft method, which is, coach's private message me through the forums or AIM with their list of preferred players for each round. If this method is necessary, more details on this will come.
Here again is the order of the draft:
1)drinnagh - Toronto Maple Leafs
2)metzgerism - San Jose Sharks
3)nhltrippin - Dallas Stars
4)houlanov - Pittsburgh Penguins
5)PondHcky1 - Quebec Nordiques
6)gihtarman - Montreal Canadiens
7)BobKudelski26 - Ottawa Senators
8)prodigyof94 - Chicago Blackhawks
9)masterof94 - Edmonton Oilers
10)theval99 - Boston Bruins
11)fenty62 - Los Angeles Kings
12)xgrad06 - Vancouver Canucks
So once again, good luck with the draft everyone. I hope everyone has seen the excel sheet of the list of players we have supplied here:http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?showtopic=7702. Remember you can pick someone not on this list AS LONG AS YOU KNOW THEY ARE IN THE SNES VERSION OF THE GAME. Please ignore the asking prices because they do not apply until the first offseason. The team you draft will be the team you play with for the inaugural season (unless you make trades)!
And remember STAY IN ORDERRRRR!

After what Tick has said I should drop out of this SNES draft.
Tick makes sense.
I'll watch and see how it goes.
I'd pick mostly Canucks anyways.
I kinda felt bad signing up for this when I didn't sign up for Cap 2 because I was busy.
Great work shaftman and xgrad for making a SNES draft! The SNES '94 gods are proud of you guys!
I hope it is a sucessful draft! Good luck everyone.
Cheers
just a note that we will be supplying everyone with an excel sheet of every player ranked by their overall rating so research for the draft is not necessary

hey everyone, i'm xgrad06, cocreator of the snes draft league with gihtarman... we plan on starting out the league small with the 12 teams, and a list of coaches we feel will be committed to the league. These coaches are not set in stone yet because we don't know if they'll have time or even want to join the league so feel free to sign up here to get put onto the waiting list, you may even get added to the league for the first season!
can't wait for the fun to begin!

Taking Anaheim as an example.. At decimal offset 945504 you'll find numbers of forwards/defenders. Just set it to 64 and you'll have 6 forwards and 4 defenders.
so you're saying that the team size does not need to be altered at all? just the number of forwards/defence?
-
wow, this NHL 09 game sounds awesome! think they're releasing a super nintendo cartridge? cause thats the only gaming console i've ever had........ seriously lol
it may finally be time to upgrade my system... any word to who's on the cover yet? i'm not upgrading my system til they put Crosby on the cover
-
i think what he means is you started at home, so you have the home ice advantage, but buffalo was a higher seed so they should have home ice advantage, unless they preferred road ice... is that what happened?
-
so where do we post our preferred starting lines? here?
for pittsburgh I would like:
G - Fleury -> could I have his number changed to 29 instead of 31? thanks
LD - Gonchar
RD - Letang
LW - Hossa
C - Crosby
RW - Malkin
Ex- Staal
Also Gonchar and Scuderi have the same number (55) I dont care at all if you change this or not, but if you do desire to change, keep the 55 with gonchar

pittsburgh trades crosby to montreal for koivu.
hahahhahahaha good laugh
-
if gainey was offered crosby for saku koivu and he didn't accept it, he would immediately be fired.... then after the press conference revealing his dismissal, he would be shot by some montreal fan.... then after the burial, his grave would likely be robbed and we'd never hear about him again.... thats how big a mistake he would be making.... to say that saku koivu would better someones team more than sidney crosby is ludacris
