NHL Discussion

A tribute thread to those players that were in the game! This is the website I used to track these. http://www.sihrhockey.org/__a/members/deaths_by_year.cfm Players are listed by name, Date of Death, Team, Jersey number, and NHL'94 rating.

This thread was initially created in July 2007 to recognize all active NHL players from nhl94 and what NHL teams they play on. It has since expanded to those players from NHL94 playing professional hockey anywhere. If you have any info in regards the players listed below or any from NHL94 not listed playing professional hockey...let me know and I'll update the list. Here's list of those active in/retired from professional hockey that were there in '94. Updated: October 06/16 Last Man Standing Jaromir Jagr - Florida Panthers RETIRED Tony Amonte Stu Barnes Jesse Belanger Ed Belfour Josef Beranek Rob Blake Peter Bondra Rod Brind'Amour Patrice Brisebois Sean Burke K…

If any. Thinking about a vintage Orr, or North Stars Modano.

Inspired by Dangler's recent meeting with JR, this thread is created for you to tell your stories of whom you've met, who you know or whatever the case may be to all those who have a connection with the nhl past or present. If you play in the NHL, please list that here also. I know chaos played 3 seasons with the Florida Panthers before he was forced to retire from a knee injury so he probably has the most prestige on the site. When I was 12, I went to a Mike Mcphee card signing (yes Mike McPhee was a big deal). I had my card in my hand but I was nervous I was going to bend it while waiting in line so I put in my coat pocket.....where....I ended up bending it...and Mike …

Your thoughts? The poll will be closed on September 30.

As a super fan of Norm - he's my all-time favorite comedian - this is one of my fav hockey stories of all-time. Also, growing up in Philly, Dave Schultz was a legend.

Anyone still collect? https://rumble.com/v6zms8w-brendan-shanahan-rookie-card-.html?mref=4mtycg&mc=3rxtj

Without looking it up... Has any city ever won the Memorial Cup and the Stanley Cup in the same calender year?

Once again the NHL draft has featured a plethora of players who are sons of NHL'94 players. Keeping track... Bold for players who've made it to the NHL (roughly defined as was in the lineup consistently for a season). Grey for players drafted 4th round or later. 1989 #114 STL->EDM->VAN - David Roberts (LW) - Nephew of Gordie Roberts 2004 #33 WSH - Chris Bourque (LW/RW) - Son of Ray Bourque 2007 #11 CAR->PIT->VAN - Brandon Sutter (C/RW) - Son of Brent Sutter... etc #6 EDM->ARI->PHI->CBJ>VAN->EDM - Sam Gagner (C/RW) - Son of Dave Gagner #103 ARI Vladimir Ruzicka (C ) - Son of Vladimir Ruzicka …

Certainly, looks like an arcade hockey game similar to that of the Backyard Hockey 2005, Disney and ESPN gives Nick doing NFL wild card games and Cartoon network NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest a run for their money. I wish they gave all those players their own models in the game though. nitpick aside, this article explains everything behind the scnes here: https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-big-city-greens-classic-adds-new-dimension-to-rangers-capitals-game/c-342182936

Went to town to get supplies for my birthday tomorrow 1/27. I found this at Dollar Tree for $1.25. Best gifts are the ones I get for myself. I also got Pokey Reddick off of EBay. He is my moms favorite Cincinnati Cyclone.

With the NHL deadline just a month and a half away, its time to make your predictions. 1. Where is Patrick Kane going? 2. Who else do you see moving? 3. Who do you wish your team would pick up to solidify them? 1. Rumors say its almost certain Kane is out in Chicago. They say the Rangers, Boston, Pittsburgh, Carolina, and the Islanders are potential landing spots. He's definitely not coming to Columbus, so good luck wherever he goes. 2. In Chicago, Toews maybe be a potential mover. Seeing he's in his final year. Word is Columbus will have Korpisalo and Nyquist on the block, since they're in their final years as well. 3. Coming to Colum…

If you have DirecTV, NHL Center Ice is free all week. World Juniors are on this week.

Haven't watch hockey game in a while. Grew up a Cincinnati Cyclones fan, the Sabres are their affiliate now and were on last night. Turned it on in the second period and it was already 6-0. I thought wow! So I stayed up and watched them boys put on a shooting clinic. Columbus didn't have a prayer. Haha!

In sad news... https://thehockeynews.com/news/former-nhl-defenseman-bryan-marchment-passes-away-at-53 His significance around here is that he's the player on the left in this NHL94 in-game art. Gone too soon. RIP.

Yup...it's official! The 32nd NHL team will be the Seattle Kraken. https://www.nhl.com/news/seattle-kraken-nickname-for-nhl-expansion-team/c-317588092 Can't say that I'm a fan of the nickname but I guess it could have been worse. I love how they (the team officials) talk about Seattle and its maritime history... they do realize the Kraken isn't a real thing, right? LOL

https://winnipegsun.com/sports/hockey/jets-legend-hawerchuk-gone-at-57 Lost another 94 alumni. Helluva player. Gone too soon!

It appears that the team will return to the logo that they used in 1997. The logo is very similar to what was also used in 1994. The difference is it said "Ottawa Senators" where the black arrowheads later appeared in 97 (within the gold circle). https://news.sportslogos.net/2020/07/17/leaked-ottawa-senators-new-2020-21-logo/ I hope they return to this jersey set up as well. Also, very similar to what they used in 1994. There was just no white strip in the black jersey in 94.

If only 1 from the above (Mogilny) makes it this year, then I think it's safe to say the committee has never played NHL 94 and they should resign their positions for next year. [They put the SNES console in the HOF and the Sega box... it's near the Slapshot jersey if you ever go there one day]

I just ate a whole box of oreos.

Reminds me of the time my dad took me to Disney Land in Atlantic City. You never get over these types of things. LX4R61wMkjhLrgWZkfaNVD7eWm0czh2LoUhgitj9UTc.mp4
