why are you not on IM hokkee so we can play an offsides on exhibition?
I think it takes away from a lot of strategy (long range passing) and excitement, but I would like to give it a shot.

I pushed for this in the 1st lg i joined and there was nothing but whaaa...whaaa....whaaa .So i gave up on that ..but .finally someone had the balls to use this in a lg.it makes the game sooo much better !
1-real nhl uses this rule obviously.
2-it keeps alot of those cheesy breakaways down to a minimum.
3-you have to be aware of where your forwards are when going on the rush
4-once you have gained the zone you just cant swing outside of the blueline and come back in
5-and yes players do break in sometimes that you dont control but oh well thats part of the game and you have to swing back and regroup .
6- im sick of the all out run n gun with no limitations
7-its time to play the game the way its played in real life

I think people who have been saying there is no reason to favor Kega should take a look at these items:
if the controller issue is tightened... then this makes Kega a lot more favorable
2 questions: for novices, what settings should users change for optimal use?
for full screen, which settings will display the proper aspect ratio of the game? Is this user dependent?
some new changes that could be useful:* Rewrote controller code, should fix problems with some USB controllers.
* Added two controller sharing options for Netplay. Everybody can now share
controller one, or all controllers. The latter isn't very useful, but why
not.
* Added AVI Logging using custom Kega Game Video 1 lossless codec. This is
needed because logging RAW video causes poor performance even on highend
machines, and using any of the available codecs either doesn't compress
well enough to fix that, or does compress well enough, but can't keep up
with 60fps, so you get poor performance either way. The codec is able to
use hints from the emulator to aid in compression, allowing pretty good
compression while taking very little CPU time. The codec to allow you
to play back and convert the files is included in the archive, and can
be installed via right clicking on the INI file and telling the OS to
continue with the install. Tested on XP and Vista64, should work fine
on 9x and Vista32.
* Disabled BIOS use where possible during Netplay games, to prevent out
of sync errors when people had different combinations of BIOS/NO BIOS/
Different BIOS.
* Netplay Games should now automatically change your country code to that
of the host.
* Kega Fusion now runs beautifully under Vista.

matt, you just dont have your settings correct with Kega if youre having that many problems.
Ice and I have had MANY smooth games, but at that time of day on either Kega or Gens(being unplayable), the connection isnt the same.
I don't have many problems with Kega... just as many as Gens. I just feel that if one is having connection issues... it will be similar on both platforms.
When we have games in the future, I'll play Kega.

I am curious if others have Christmas conflicts? Anyways, the deadline is the deadline and I'll do my best to make it, or I'm s.o.l.
Does my 2nd round opponent rely on the outcome of your series, or could I potentially play them now?

The other conference is still unsettled, sebe and i are scheduled to play our series out tonight, if he wins he plays carse, if i win, i get swos.
Deadline is Dec. 29th for this round, but no reason why we cant get it done early if we jump on things really quick here before christmas gets too near.
When is the deadline for the round after?
I will be out of town from Dec 23rd to Jan 3rd.

Not true Bo, Ive tested it. Kega can withstand a bad connection to make it playable, while Gens will just continuously be choppy or desynch.
And it isnt a fiasco, Kega without a doubt has a better online connection.

so... Kega has some sort of built in Internet booster, right?
don't get me wrong... Kega could be the best. For you. We just don't experience what you do.

You didn't give me much confidence, explaining all these places that you would be that would prevent you from finishing your series. I am just making sure we don't get stuck extending deadlines like we have in the past. Nothing personal, brah.

There is a distinction between objective and subjective assertions.
The ones you make are subjective. There is no dispute to this, as you are using your own experiences and are presenting hearsay of conversations you had with other people.
I have stated that we need evidence to distinguish if Kega is superior, nothing more. Until then, I don't feel it is a good move to brand Kega as champion when other people prefer Gens with arguments that hold just as much merit as your own.
Hokkee has the best solution - use whatever works for you.
And I'm not above asking how you think my retort was defensive? I'm not defending Gens. I've stated that I have had situations where Kega works very well. However, the percentage of low quality games is similar on both emulators for me at this point. I'm asking that if you demand Kega exclusive leagues, then present objective reasoning as to why we should oblige. Telling me "many people think it's choppy" isn't much. Right now, I don't see an overwhelming response to Kega exclusiveness.

Hokkee... although I agree that a dual emulator platform isn't ideal, it really isn't reasonable for you to rest on the laurels of "it has to be gens."
the only actual changes in gameplay I noticed were a lack of precision in controlling for kega. It was suggested that the controls were improved in the latest release of kega... I have my fingers crossed. The aspect ratio can be achieved very near to what you see on the Gens if you play around with the settings.
I have had some really smooth games on Kega... but I have also on Gens. I personally have not experienced an upside in latency for Kega. Since that isn't an issue... I think it is fair to play half of a series on each others emulator of choice.
