Awesome xot! Bernie Nicholls was a great hockey player, but he did most of his damage with the kings. He only played two seasons with the hawks.
You may want to consider inserting Dirk Graham instead. While he wasn't a player that people would pay to go watch to score goals, he was a defensive specialist. Graham captained the hawks for 6 seasons and won the Selke award. He also played for Canada in the 1991 Canada cup.
Or Troy Murray who had some solid seasons with the hawks including a selke trophy in '86.

I'm working on a rom with the best players since around -85. Some players will show up in more than one team.
The ratings are based on how good the players were as best for the team they're in.

Just noticed in the ruels you can retake a penalty if the glitch occurs! That happened to me with toxic I think..

Not keen on the being able to restart a game in full after a goals been scored, will be easy for someone to get frustrated after a goal being scored against him & the slightest bit of lag for them to complain.. and the lag might not particulary improve.

Two new videos.
First one is a game against the famous fenty.
The other one is a single player game. I used Pittburgh and tried to score as many goals as possible with Mario Lemieux.
I managed to score four hat-tricks (12 goals). Has anyone scored more in a 5 min game?
If not, can anyone beat it? You can use any team except All-stars. Record a zsnes movie (zmv).
It's kind of tricky to setup the same player to score every time.
This is the settings that I used:
5 min periods.
penalties on, no offside.
line change off

I never put in any rules in regards to lag. I guess I just assumed guys would follow the classic rules...so my apologies for that.
Lag is usually evident within the first couple minutes of a game.
If determined that lag is a factor when the first goal is scored...the game can be stopped and replayed in full at a later time. If two goals were scored in the game...then the game can still be stopped but it is then officially counted as a 'started game'. Coaches should record the time left in the game and replay that time at a later date. Before the replayed game takes place...coaches should confirm the time left in the game that a goal cannot be scored on or after.
I played 3 games against fenty earlier without any problems. Sweden is a bit closer to Ireland though.
I've experienced lag against fenty in exhibition games before. But I don't think it's his connection that causes it. It's probably something with his computer. Spyware or whatever.

I just added some highlight videos from last fall on youtube. It's from the classic league and exhibition games. Goals, glitches, crazy shots and moves.

If you activate it you can change between the defenders by pressing the L and R button.

Great rom! But looks like you put Winnipeg at the same spot as one of the All-star teams. Which makes it impossible to use them in a single player best of 7 playoff.

At the end of the classic season I changed light and speedy Svoboda for heavy slow Smehlik in Buffalo and it worked perfect for me. Svoboda probably has the worst shot accuracy in the game (25 I think). Smehlik is a good checker and I scored more goals with his bulldozer style in the last 5 games of the season then the whole season with Svoboda.
I like using both heavy slower teams and light ones. I'm trying to figure out my seeding for the next classic league but it's kind of hard.
I also prefer to put the best forward in the team as center. Mogilny in BUF, Hull in STL. I think STL is one of the most underrated teams in this game. They have great shooters in Hull and Brown (power) and Shanahans 90+ accuracy. And for speed I add Emerson instead of Janney. This team is good for my style and it should be no problem to stop that a**hole Lindros in Flyers
I like having one heavy defender and one fast, Detroit is perfect for that and the attackers Ciccarelli-Yzerman-Fedorov is almost perfect if you're going for a fast and skilled team. Both Yzerman and Ciccarelli are good shooters. Only the goalie suck.

Yea, nice job Bob! Impressive second half of the season.
I lost too many crap games in my first half. It's my own fault I didn't make the playoffs. Nice by Chozo to fill in.
Still, we should rewrite the rules about FF wins and DNP's for next season.

how do dnps get decided? are points awarded for dnps? I think thats kind of dumb as the one guy was saying becuase if someone is hard to get in contact with you are almost better served to not play them and get the free wins which shouldnt be how wins are earned
Yea, exactly. I played schwartz in my last game a couple of weeks ago and lost. Could have waited and just posted a thread one week before the deadline asking for schwartz. If he doesn't reply I get my free win and a playoff spot.
At the same time I understand it's frustrating for BobKudelski26 (Detroit) who have been looking for Calgary for a week now or something.
But shouldn't be very hard to finish the season some weeks before the last deadline for anyone. a couple of NHL94 games a day doesn't take that much time.

I'm f'd though. I don't think the Calgary coach will play his 3 games against Detroit. Which means Detroit get three free FF wins and end season with one more point than me and get the last playoff spot
Guess it's better to not finish all games in time. Will remember that next season.
