As I said in the OP, stats will be tracked loosely, key word here being loosely. I have a big excel sheet set up, which i'll use to record some basic stats for players (Goals, Assists, Points, and PIM to be specific). I'll track the player points by which team they're on, as well as by the actual, unique players (I.E All of Mario Lemieux's stats in one place, regardless of which team.)
Goalie stats will just be SA, GA, SV% and GAA.
As for videos, I think HABS put it best. I'll do a video for the championship game, and even then i'll edit it down to highlights only, as nobody wants to see the AI play for an extended period of time.
Also, I predicted earlier that if a shootout occurs it will last forever, and I tested my hypothesis in a quick AI vs AI shootout. It ended in round 97 :|.

I meant March 8th, my bad.

I realized the deadline I have set isn't the greatest, as I'll probably be too busy that weekend to get much of the work done.
Keeping this in mind, i'm bringing the deadline up to Monday, March 8th. That leaves the rest of the weekend (and until I get back from School Monday) to signup, so keep em comin.
EDIT: FUN FACTS:
-There have been 66 roster picks, but only 31 unique players.
-Patrick Roy is goalie for 8 out of 11 teams (73%)
-Most selected Forward: Mario Lemieux (6/11)
-Most selected Defenseman: Ray Bourque: (8/11)
-
Hopefully if this takes off i'll look to expand on the idea, and at the very least i'll hold regular tournament's every so often, of course with some changes to keep it fresh.
Halifax, while not on sportscenter, i'll definitely record the championship game and edit up some highlights.
Looks like Roy is going to be in a lot of goalie duels...with himself.
Also, thank you Smoz, that's something I never would have thought of.
Another tidbit, if a game goes to shootout, I have strong suspicions that it will last 100 rounds before the AI manages to deke out the goalie.

Quick Info
-Weight Bug WILL be fixed in ROM.
-10 Minute Periods
-No Line Changes, No Offsides, Penalties On.
Rosters
Here's the fun part for this tournament, you pick your 6-man roster (3F,2D,1G), and you can pick ANY player out of NHL 94, regardless of whether or not another team has already picked him. The only restriction on picking is that there cannot be more than 4 identical players on two teams. Only 5 players are needed, as in the event of an injury, every team will have identical replacements.

I'm still around. I have to remember who I play with in this league, though.
That's a good point, i'll put a topic up to make it easier to keep track of who you've played.
-
I was ripping on Crosby all game, he wasn't doing much.
Then 10 seconds after I say he needs to pick it up, he scores the winner.

Second deadline has come and gone, and again nobody has met it, the closest being iceguy with 11 games.
Not sure where commitment is at anymore, even I am beginning to lose interest, mostly due to school.
Anyways, although the outlook for a second season is bleak, I still want to finish the first.
Here are the FINAL deadlines:
March 15th - Final deadline for ALL games.
After this, seeds will be set, playoffs will start and we'll wrap this up as quickly as possible.
Important for ALL coaches: Please make a post in this topic if you intend to see this thing through till the end. After 3 days I'll start replacing those who haven't made a reply, going by least games played.

MTL 0 @ VAN 5

Today marks the original deadline, and unfortunately nobody met the goal. Not really a big problem, although I don't want this to slow to a crawl. I'm pushing back the deadline by two weeks, and increasing the number of required games to 12.
One thing I would like, however, is for all coaches to post in this topic with their thoughts on the league, ROM, rules, etc. If you have nothing to say, still make a post, i'm trying to gauge who's still in.
-
About smoz's point: I didn't reduce agility at all actually, it was only the following 4 attributes: Speed, Shot Power, Shot Accuracy, and Passing.
-
1. Even with just a few games I can see 7 minute periods wearing thin on me, it's just too long.
2. I'm on the fence, it doesn't quite feel too slow to me, although sometimes the speed bugs me.
3. Maybe 3/4ths is the way to go, as slower heavy guys are now almost impossible to check with.
-
Alright, I need all coaches to answer a few questions in a post:
1. Do you prefer 7 minute periods, or 5?
2. In terms of gameplay, do you feel it's too slow or just right?
3. The check boost: Do you like it halved, or do you feel it's too slow?
4. Any other concerns, ideas, or anything related to the league, rom, etc.?
What i'm considering is having a "halfway" point, so to speak. Judging by the coach response, a new ROM will come out with changes (if you guys want changes), and that will be used to end off the season.
-
RedWingDevil(Iceguy94) is Edmonton, to clear it up. Houli originally switched to Anaheim, but since Edmonton and Anaheim both have the exact same rosters on the ROM, Iceguy can use Edmonton.
-
Houli has decided to drop out, and going by the waiting list, RedWingDevil(AIM=Iceguy94) is the new coach.
-
What about Toronto? As far as I know FPB and I are also in the waiting list.
IQ chose to drop out early, as for the rest of the teams, everyone has until Feb. 8th before replacements happen again.
-
IQ has informed me that he is dropping out of the league, and so a replacement is in order.
As I said at the start of the season, I'm interested in playing in this league, but was going to wait until either a replacement was needed or until next season.
After thinking about it, i've decided to step in and hopefully help get more games in. So Vancouver's new coach is me, AIM = logantessier@gmail.com

Game 1: 4-3 CHI
Game 2: 3-1 CHI
Game 3: 4-1 CHI
Game 4: 1-0 CHI
Last game was a forfeit (I had to go, and with my schedule I'd rather give Louie the cup, which he deserves, than drag this out for who knows how long)
GGs, congrats to Louie.

I think tonight should be good, depending on how late my schooling takes. It won't be crazy late though, so as long as your on tonight, i'll find you and we can begin the Roenick vs Lemieux showdown.

I've messaged Evan and hopefully I can get a sub-forum set up to keep this more organized.
Here are the Pools, teams were randomly assigned.
Pool A
-IQ25
-RedWingDevil
-Beavers
-Logan
Pool B
-Nationals
-Smozoma
-TubaHero
-Snyder
Pool C
-OrangeBlack
-Flasox
-HABS
-Houli
Pool D

For the preliminary round, each team plays every team in their Pool once, (2Home, 1Away for 50% of the teams, 1Home, 2Away for other 50%) with a W = 2 points, OTL = 1 point, L = 0 points. After this, teams are ranked 1-17 using the following criteria:
1.Highest PTS%
2.Highest Goal Differential
3.Most Goals
4.Most Wins
More on the format when the sub-forum is set up., but Preliminary round will be completed TONIGHT.
