  1. #2--

I set up http://sea-hag.net specifically for recording stats from exhibition games. There's no obligation to play anyone other than your friends, and so far it's worked out fine. It supports ZSnes and Gens save states.

I believe there are standalone .exe stat extractors floating around somewhere, although I haven't personally used them. If there is some real interest in this, it's something I could look into. What features are you looking for in this? Do you want a local db to save the results with some sort of view? Or do you just want it to export CSV/xml/json? Both?

  2. Marchawg, I tried uploading 9 games that Northway and I did last night. For each one, it supposedly uploaded successfully and I could see the stats screen and confirm that the upload was correct. However, I don't see the games appearing under recent games or even at all on mine and Northway's user profiles....Possibly a bug?

After the (presumed) winner uploads the game and verifies the right save state, the opponent has to confirm it from their game list. I think if Northway checks out his profile page (http://www.sea-hag.net/user/NorthwayNative), he can confirm them for you. Then they'll all show up.

I see them in the database as "unconfirmed" -- just a safety measure so people don't upload junk saves and pretend it was against someone else!

  3. http://sea-hag.net

Right now it's only set up for stat extraction for ZSnes and it only has me and my offline friends in it. It now supports Gens and ZSnes. I played in SNES Classic as jurikobeski a few years back, on sea hag I go by Wambo.

ANyway, I set this up over the last couple weekends as a side thing to record stats against them, but I think it'd be worth expanding and seeing if other people want to join as well.

It's just recording stats per game and calculating averages. Eventually I want to create some sort of ranking algorithm so we can have some sort of bragging rights. There are also future tourney plans, but nothing set right now.

I'm open to supporting Gens as well, but I don't play it myself. I'd need some people interested in testing out the extraction for me before I would push that for everyone. I tested this out pretty thoroughly myself, but I'm looking for Gens volunteers to find bugs. Please file one (even anonymously) via the menu option! It will email me and it's easier to keep track of that way.

Let me know if this is the wrong forum or anything..

Adding links for non-logged in folk:

http://www.sea-hag.net/users/ -- List of users with records

    http://www.sea-hag.net/teams/ -- Teams list

    EDIT:

    Added Gens support.

  4. I just created this site over a couple weekends, so it's probably buggy and definitely incomplete: http://sea-hag.net Right now it only records SNES save state stats, but I can hook up a genesis extractor if enough people want to do that.

My ultimate goal is to have something similar to the Tecmo Players Circuit for Tecmo Super Bowl with rankings based on who you played/how you won against them, but for now it's "points" based like a regular league would be.

We only have people I know signed up so far as well, so it's a bit dead right now as far as players. (I am wambo)

  5. 2010 SNES-B Formula 409 Cup

Why is it called the 409 Cup?

The loser gets to take home the 409, which they then drink from sucking so hard.* It's kind of like that Pizza Hut commercial where the kids are like "losing isn't so bad, coach takes us for pizza after a tough loss!" ... except instead of pizza, it's 409.. and losing is pretty bad.

As important as it is to determine a champion, I think it's also as important to crown a loser. This year's matchup will be Jurikobeski (me) from one division against Kero5hin from the other division. Since there is no real way to record this, we will just post the scores on this thread.

Luckily this is a real NHL rivalry as well, so it should be good.

The Story of Two Teams Destined to be in The Cup

New Jersey started the season out in grand fashion, winning the first 7 games and catapulting themselves into the top position. After a 2-4 series with Boston, New Jersey stormed back with 2 wins against Buffalo, only to be destroyed 9-1 in the final game of the series. The next 6 games led New Jersey down to a 12-8 record, struggling for second place. A split series with Montreal kept New Jersey up in second place, but losing 5 of the next 6 pretty well sealed their fate. The Islanders took a full series sweep over the Devils, knocking them out of second place and leaving them in the battle for the playoffs. NJ finished the season with 36 points, 3 games ahead of both Montreal and Quebec, but also with 6 more games played. MTL took over second place, while QUE just edged out NJ for the final playoff position in the division, leaving a reeling NJ team (2-8 in the last 10) with a one-way ticket to the 409 Cup.

Philadelphia took a somewhat easier road to The Cup, going 0-17 before getting their first victory against a then-struggling Quebec club. Philly ended the season with 5 wins.

    *Don't drink 409.
