  1. I think I have this right, let me know if there are any questions.

    Toronto St. Pats.

    Hawerchuk (10) Cicarelli (22) Ysebart (12)

    Ysebart (12) Hawerchuk (10) Clark (17)

    Hawerchuk (10) Ysebart (12) Otto (29)

    X: Clark

    Zalapski (3)– MacInnis (2)

    Kravchuk (21) – Krupp (4)

    W. Young (1)

    M. Fitzpatrick (30)

  2. I hinted on this before, but I'll quicky explain it in a bit more detail.

take an original 94 rom. expand the bytes (once or even twice to be safe).

FFFF out the complete team/roster data section. paste in Sega CDs roster over the top and then fix the starting team offsets pointers (refer to the nose rom.ini for that offset).

With that edit your rosters in NOSE (if you do it right I should work first shot). When done paste it back into the ISO making sure you haven't expand the original amount of bytes used by the sega cd version (meaning you will have to drop player to add longers names etc.). Then fix the sega cd team offsets to match the new starting points revelant to their previous reference (by that I mean the hex offset wont be what you expect, but you could calculate where it should techinically be with a bit of basic maths when compared with the original roster/team offset pointers.

Thats the best I can only offer you as I cant/don't know how to successfully expand the roster, unshare the tile logos or even add more teams for the sega cd version like I have for the 30 team nhl 94 hack. Time wise I am in no position for the next month or so to greatly help you out so you have to get back into a bit of traditional hacking to make this work for you now.

give it a shot!!!! I'm certian it will work in theory and in practice.

    Hey Wboy,

It sounds like it might be possible to edit a game through NOSE and copy it back into the Hex editor to burn onto a sega CD. Can you go into more detail possibly? I'm a little confused when you talk about hex offsets and what not.

  3. I've always suspected that something was a bit off in regards to the checking ability of these 2 defenseman. IMO, Sweeney is the most devasting body checker in the league - he'll take out basically anybody at will. Bourque is very good at body checking, but not as good as Sweeney.

Yet, Bourque has a much higher checking rating. Is it possible that the original game programmers 'reversed' the checking ratings of these 2 guys?

agreed. sweeney is a tank. as is todd gill. there is more to checking than just the checking stat however.

  4. what is up with this team! Put Gartner at center and they are spectacular..... two good defencemen, gartner and esa are super fast, plus messiers checking..... why doesn't anyone use this team? anyone tried them out? Gartner is 20x better at center btw.

  5. well yesterday was immortal battle of the NHL94 titans ......Wopap and Soccer1 finally mustarded up enough intestinal fortitude (balls) to play yours truly Kgman (aka NHL94's Tiger Woods) ........As much trash talking that has been documented between us u would have thought that we would have a decent tit 4 tat series.

Kgman's Record 8 Wins 0 Losses......1 Win in an exbition agianst 3rd Party

Wopap's Record 0 Wins 4 Losses ....i must say all close games (Gary Leeman lol)

    Soccer1 Record 0 Wins 4 Losses ....including a 10-4 blowout ....(Hooking doesnt work soccer1)

This has cemented my place at the top of NHL94 Hierarcy ....I would expect u all to recognize and appreciate yours truly ......I will confedentially say there is noboby on the face of the Earth that is my equal ..........I told U SO!!!!!!!!!

I've been waiting all day for this post.

Yes its true, we 'mustarded' up enough balls to go play him.

Yes its true, I lost all games, albeit by one goal.

Yes its true, I have a newfound respect for Gary Leeman.

BUT. KGman neglected to mention what he said to me last night, which was

"you're the best player I've ever played against"

which means next time, maybe at soccer1's house, there will be an ass whooping. Who knows, maybe soccer1 will have his team picked by then!

    :)

  6. hey Wopap,

I have a question for you... have you tried playing a real (authentic) game cd on your SegaCD?  You probably don't have one, I would try that too to make sure the SegaCD works.

    -Evan

I have a sega cd game that came with the system and it works fine...

I know this is a long shot, but if I mailed you a blank cd, with a prepaid return envelope, could you burn me a copy just to see if it works on mine or not? Won't cost you a dime, except for your time :(

  7. i would smoke both of u wanting to play online with somebody but always seem never able to hook up with somebody for one reason or another ......iam probably the best player to ever play this game ...i use montreal and have a specfic line used for differnet teams based on their players 4 example chicago i put savard bellows lebaeu brisbois desjardins ....but 4 buffalo i use damphosse lebeau leeman brisbois scnhieder .......ROy is only constant .........i can safely say there is no one in this world that has perfected every aspect of the game as i have and no one ever will .....

Gary Leeman? The ex leaf? Good god this will be easier than i thought.

  8. Evan,

I"m having some trouble burning the sega cd iso to a cd and then playing it on my sega cd system. The burned disc has been in my system for about five minutes now and it looks like it can't read the cd.

I've downloaded fireburner, registered it, and listed the tracks to be burnt in this order:

    the nhl94.iso

    track02.mp3

and the rest of the mp3 tracks in numerical order. I got this from the link you referenced near the top of this forum.

Anyway, is this correct the way I am doing this? If not could you let me know what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks in advance!

  9. Hey Soccer1,

My cousin and I just got the tototek hardware, but we haven't had time to check it out yet.  http://www.tototek.com/ is the website, thanks to Donny we learned about this.  We have the MD-PRO 32M flash Card kit for Genesis/MegaDrive which was $70 and holds up to 15 roms.

Before you buy it, let us test it out to make sure its cool.  We'll try to test it sometime this week and let you know the results.  (I would test it now but it's at his place.)

    Wopap,

Yes, you can edit the .ISO from the Sega CD version of NHL94, burn it into a cd, and play it on the Sega CD.  You can download the .ISO from the downloads section of nhl94.com.

    -Evan

Evan, i downloaded the hex editor, as well as the Sega CD ISO file from the link you gave me. When I open the ISO in the hex editor, it does not appear to be the same as the normal NHL 94 version. In particular, there are no team names or player names in the upper right corner of the hex editor. Is there something else I should be doing or another manner in which I should be editing the game?

    Thanks again!

  10. Burning the Sega CD (ISO) version to a CD and playing on the Sega CD console works great.  You can't burn a .BIN file and play it on a Sega CD.

My cousin and I may switch over to editing the Genesis version of the game since we have that hardware/software that burns games on a cartridge that can be played on a Genesis.

McRae - I haven't had much time lately to make any tutorials.  Don's site should help for burning a cd though.  If not, ask what you aren't understanding.

    -Evan

Evan sorry if this has been covered or not in the past, but I know very little about burning. Is it possible to edit the sega cd version of nhl 94, burn it to a cd and then play it on the sega cd console?

  11. Sure then the beginning of May sounds good to me ......I could bring 1 or 2 guys as well.....Soccer1 if u wanna to run some exhibitions for me to embarass u and add to my legacy as the greatest Ever, It would be my pleasure to have u go running to Wopap with your war stories of how Kgman made u another statistic.......Wopap sounds like your gonna find a way to snake out this touney with a fake injury i would be suprised to see us how up with a cast and forefit but ill still have no mercy to ur cuz .....ill run up the score LOL

    kg man,

don't get me wrong, I'll be suntanned and rusty, but I'm so good that me being rusty is still good enough to whoop your ass.

  12. Hey kgman, sounds like a deal, as soon as we can get some more players for the tourney, lets say 8, we can get together after April 22 and have an NHL day.  May the best man win.  I am sure i'll be pushed to the brink with competition such as wopap and yourself kgman.  We need some more supporters in the Tornoto area though!!

I just PMed kgman - I'm not available until May.

I'll be suntanned.... but definitely rusty.

  13. Hi guys,

I'm new here, found the site, I think someone emailed me once from here...I run a PC NHL95 league in Toronto... check out www.nhl95.com if you haven't already.

Does anyone here love NHL95 PC or are you just hardcore '94 fans? I'd love to get a tourney going for PC version. See if anyone out there can beat us heh heh. Still playing after 10 years... i know we'd get smoked on Sega, there are enough differences between the games...

Also, does anyone know how I can capture league highlights from PC version? Any free s/w out there? The game takes over the machine, best I could do was take 50 screenshots and make an animated gif (very time consuming).

    Thanks!

I'd be interested..... interested in geting schooled that is!

It would be way different than NHL 94.... my love would be to get a tourney for 94..... but with a little practice I might be in for an NHL 95 tourney.
