This thread will be my notes and attempt to expand NHL'95 to a 34 team ROM. Before I start, I'd like to thank @wboy, @slapshot67, and @smozoma up front, as just about all of my hacking knowledge has come from them. I will try to give credit where appropriate, but 95% of this will be one of those guys. So my initial thoughts are as follows: Expand the '95 ROM from 2MB to 4MB to create room for more teams, graphics: Not needed, enough empty space to use in 2MB. I have fixed the playoffs bug in NHL95. You can get a fixed version of the game here. If you don't know what this is about: There was a game-breaking bug in NHL95 that made it so you missed the playoffs if you got 128 or more points in the regular season. (See some discussion about that in this other thread) I made a short video covering the fix The short story of the bug is that the programmer accidentally used some CPU instructions that only work for numbers up to 127. Here are instructions how to run NHL95PC on Dosbox. Get the game and Dosbox. Make new directories on your hard drive, like c:\nhl95 and cd-directory under it, like c:\nhl95\cd. Hi everyone, At least for me NHL95 has been a major headache for a long time, when trying to play it on XP. Finally with DosBox I managed to make it work. And Heres how I did it. Hi everyone, I was messing around in JED today and decided to make a jersey file that had bright white jerseys for each team. I've grabbed other jersey files that people have created in the past and just adjusted all of them. Used the jerseys that I like best for each team. Consider it a fresh coat of paint. I like playing the game with the blue ice file (attached) so it really pops. Just throw these 3 files in your main directory and load the game and you should see them. Just started playing 95 for pc and nhl hockey for ms dos. Honestly it’s so easy to run on emulators these days that I’m playing on my iPhone/ As far as ‘overall’ player rating in the 95 PC version, there doesn’t ever seem to have a final overall stat however you can view the attributes of every player, which can give you an idea of how good the players are, but still no overall rating. Is there anyway to see the overall player rating and are the player ratings the same for NHL 95 PC as sega/snes?? TLDR; 1.) are the player ratings for nhl 95 pc the same as nhl 95 on sega/snes? 2.) is there anyway to see a players overall rating in nhl 95 pc?

Hi guys! I have a problem I'm hoping someone can help with. I'm trying to get NHL95DBEditor to change my players attributes. I have a preexisting installation with roster years 93-99 and their corresponding leagues. I placed the program in the installation folder (ie Hockey) and can get it to execute and show the confirmation that its done so but I'm not seeing anything change in the actual game. I've also tried placing the program in an individual rosters dbx and lp files and running it successfully but still...no results. I have the same issue with NHLinfo. Are there any 95 pc leagues? With all the emulators out there it’s just as easy to play the 95 pc version as it is 94 genesis

Anyone have any idea if there’s any rosters available for NHL95PC prior to ‘92? Interested in years ‘85-‘91. Seems odd no one would have given respect to these years but it seems that’s the case, at least from what I’ve seen thru searching.

It turns out that 5-player capability was built into the games and was simply disabled for some unknown reason. Changing 2 bytes in the game enables 5-player mode. Hey all, I've created 3 new tools for NHL95 PC to extract in-game sprites, music & sounds. The sprite extractor leverages gfxpak to get the raw image data out of the PPV files before the sprites are converted to .raw (Photoshop RAW, not Camera RAW) and .bmp format. Hey there, I'm new at ROM hacking. Wondering how to edit the team banners in NHL 95 Genesis version. It looks like some of the team banners share letters with other teams, so editing one screws up another. All I'm looking to really do is change the cities/nicknames for a few teams. Thanks!
