  1. played some Sega version today. went to overtime with the Calgary scrubs versus the Allstars East. they were awarded an unexpected penalty shot at the end of regulation. pretty sure it wasn't deserved (not even a breakaway, if I remember correctly). during overtime, I passed the puck and the receiving player was controlled by the computer. when I tried to switch to the puckcarrier, I was switched to another player instead. after the computer-controlled player passed the puck, things were back to "normal." do these things happen often in the Sega version (I play 1:1000::Sega:Nintendo, so I wouldn't really know)?

I posted this question in the wrong thread and somebody cried about it, so I'm starting a new topic about it. is it "normal?"

  2. now that it seems like that fool is done deleting all of my posts, I'll reiterate that picking light players isn't good advice for SNES players, as the SNES version isn't flawed when it comes to weight and corresponding abilities of players like the Genesis version is.

this experience (of having my helpful and defensive posts deleted by a waste of life) confirms to me my opinion that small-membership boards like this one don't need multiple moderators; additional ones love their power and exercise it unnecessarily in order to flaunt their status. good for you, buddy. now go stroke yourself while repeating "video game message board moderator."

  3. the original poster said he no longer uses the stand up button. I use it all the time, even if I'm going to switch to another player. if the dude is down, pick him up; he will hold/hook any opponent within reach. you can just wait 'til he's up and switch to the guy you wanted a split second later. I don't know if I'm giving away a secret; doesn't everybody else do this?

  4. GAME GENIE CODES

Below are some Game Genie Codes I wrote that you might want to try out if you're playing NHL '94 on the SNES.

My personal recommendation is the Drunken Pianist.

  5. I agree with this whole post and I think everybody here should read it all again. if you don't follow these hints, you are doing yourself a serious disservice. I also believe in the power of Darren Turcotte.

    For SNES:

Trevor Linden - Solid, good speed, strong, good shot. Replace Courtnall, just like everyone else does.

Joel Otto - One of the best faceoff men.

Jimmy Carson - He's overlooked because of the great Gretzky-Luc-Sandstorm lineup. But I like Carson's shot and toughness and (don't crucify me) I bench The Great One to put him on. People always give me heck for it when I play them with this line change.

Zhitnik - When he's hot, he's a lot better than McSorley.

John Blue - Slightly better than Moog.

Brent Sutter - I put him in over Ruutu when I need a more responsible player on the ice to protect a lead.

Craig Simpson - As others have mentioned, he replaces Weight and works really well with Klima.

Glenn Anderson - I just occasionally find Borchevsky too flakey on the ice, and Glenn "Moustache" Anderson is a lot more reliable.
