    I'm confused.

    They way I see it, there are 4 options in terms the whole hot/cold/average thing with players:

    1) Player skills/values change from game to game, you can see their true values/numbers when editing lines and players may perform differently on the ice from game to game. Ex. players will be avg, better than avg or worse than avg. Their rating when viewing attributes (in line editing screen) reflects it.

    2) Player skills/values change from game to game, their true values/numbers may or may not reflect their true value. Players may perform differently on the ice from game to game. Ex. players will be avg, better than avg or worse than avg. Their rating when viewing attributes (in line editing screen) may or may not reflect it.

    3) Player skills/values do not change from game to game, but it appears that they do (based on their rating (in line editing screen). There is no difference on the ice in player performance from game to game. Players will be average every single game.

    Is this basically the gist of it? Someone please explain further because if what I described above isn't correct then I'm unclear. I've read the hot/cold thread and was still fuzzy about it.

    Which option do the majority of people want in GDL this year (1,2,3,4)?

    Should we put it up for vote (and restrict the vote to only those playing GDL)?

    I like seeing ratings change each game and feeling the difference in players (shooting and speed especially are noticeable). I think it adds another dynamic where you might want to put in a 2nd liner (who's rated higher in a given game) and take out a first liner whose rating has dropped. Yes it's random who's hot each game, but it's the exact same thing with penalties, totally random/luck. Both of these are factors that can change the outcome of a game considerably. I guess it comes down to how much fortune/misfortune and consequences out of human control people want in a video game. But coldness in some players each game is made up for with hotness in others on your team. It's not like your whole team is cold all at once.

    I think it's nice to know actual ratings each game before the game starts. What's the reason for disguising it? You'll find out eventually when your star shooter blows golden opportunities 5 feet wide with what feels like 3 shot power, but at that point using him all game could have cost you immensely.

    Congratulations Depch! Crazy to see (and I watched it all) such a defensive series between you and Brutus. You two have a similar style and games were tight for the most part. Very tactical, loads of patience. Well deserved win man. A difficult task because STL isn't too skilled and their D are not what anyone would consider mobile. Impressive feat for sure!

    Much respect to Brutus also, he's transformed his game to his strengths in the past year or so and in doing so has raised his level of play substantially.

    True competitors both of you. Both earned your way to the championship. Great to see something different in a final. Yes, it was boring as hell to watch, haha. Normally I'd feel bad for the fans but the fans in 94 are drunk classless assholes most of the time anyway (cheering for saves & hits after the whistle).

    Aaaahaha, that would be hilarious!! So true, he is (as you @ TK suggested) going to be a very tough sell. Maybe one of those Anonymous protestor masks? Either or would be thrilling to

    see.

    Nah, won't get my hopes up. I think he's a strong introvert and being one too I can understand.

    I argue that im at least a tier 2.75, and freydey is more like a tier 1.16

    you)....it's better to be underrated, shhhhh!

    We'll never all agree on a ratings of each other. It's perception mixed with stats and we play differently against different coaches, people improve without others being aware of it....or get worse/slump.

    Speaking from the Genesis side and with regards to which people to interview about their love for the game, what makes it special etc......I'd suggest opinions from those (regardless of skill or level) who are active here and now. There is a crop of new rookies who joined and I'm sure they love the game as much as any coach who has X number of championships. They're probably the most excited people around. I don't believe talent or resume should be the biggest factors in who has their voice heard. Also, there are some integral guys who contribute behind the scenes (as well as play) whose opinions are also valuable (Kupuck, Brutus, Depch, Ice) and have been around a looooong time and are easy to get a hold of.

    This may seem odd, but I get the worst lag vs. Ice, despite us living in the same freakin city! Games halfway across the earth vs Swos or Depch are smoother. Any way one of us can be moved somewhere else? If it's me, I don't care where. Also, I'm in Raph's conference or division every single season of classic and GDL.

    I'd like to get some games vs. people I haven't played much in league competition (due to divisions/conferences).

    I'd love to get to play more games vs. Frey, Sicar, Fitzo, Houly, Donny, or Depch. Off the top of my head that's all I could think of. It's a strange request I know, and selfish but it doesn't have to do with balance b/c that stuff looks pretty even. I wanna spice things up & get excited about it. No offense to Raph & Ice. I'm not criticizing the division setup work all you guys are doing but personally I like to mix it up ONCE in a while.

    If possible, please someone figure out something fair. Just a request. Ship me anywhere! I know I look like a selfish prick but I am. Hey doesn't the squeaky wheel get the grease?

    There are so many variables at play that might shift coaches into other tiers, such as their current GDL team talent/draft success and how well they will be projected to play with that lineup. For example, Brutus with Lindros on his squad.....make a 7th tier just for him, haha. I'm only in tier 2, BOOOOOOOO Raph! No respect I tell ya! Only teasing.

    I don't know, I could be just bored and nitpicking.

    Maybe Brutus is right, divisions balanced by taking into effect the % of games in a season guys usually play?

    I'll also be fine with however it turns out.

    If geography is the #1 criteria and skill #2 then things look about right. But maybe it should be the other way around?

    Also, some guys regardless of geography are on all the time and consequently can be placed in any division if needed.

    Not criticizing just offering suggestions.
