    I landed an interview with NHL '94 producer Michael Brook. I'm compiling my list of questions for him and wondering if you guys had anything question you would like to be asked.

    Remember Mark Lesser was the designer of NHL '94 but Michael Brook was in charge of what features the game got and was also involved in all the versions of the ports. He also got the deal for the NHL and NHLPA licences.

    Basically what was and wasn't in NHL '94 was his call.

    So if you had a chance to talk to him, what would you ask?

    Why is there a TBD slot? I thought SNES ha 64 signups or did some autobots sign up in order to beat the Genesis sign ups??? I demand a recount!!!

    We have a couple spots saved for media giveaways. Starting Next Tuesday i'am going on a media junket to promote the event and movie. Also I personally saved a couple spots just in case.

    The rates for attendees of the tournament at the 20% discount has been set-up. Attendees can book rooms by phone (416-363-3321) or email (reservations@thestrathconahotel.com) and asking for the special rates for the “King of 94” room block. Rooms can also be booked by using the following link:

    If you have any issues booking a room, please email our contact person Brendan Cullin at dosm@thestrathconahotel.com. In your email, please mention "King of 94" and the 20% discount rate. Once the reservation is done, you must call the hotel with a valid credit card immediately.

    I know its a little late but TIFF really bunged up the hotel planing. The funny thing is we got a 20% discount on rooms but the days of the tourney are sold out.... :( but here is the code anyway just in case anyone needs to book rooms any other time of the year and can take advantage of the code.

    Hey Guys I'm shooting with the Traveling Jagrs in the next week and I would love to surprise them with a custom Rom Hack that has 3 forwards and 2 defenseman also the back up Goalie that are all Jagr #68. If possible can they not be on the starting line so a line edit would have to be done to get them in the game. If this could be done for two teams the Pens and the Pathers. It would be sweet! Also if they all could be 100 over all that would be cool. Can this be done????? :)

    Just a heads up guys our Sega Genesis (King of 94 Prelim) Tournament in Rocky Hill Connecticut is less then a week away!!

    The Zamboni's are going to be playing live and some of the big names in the Gens world are going to be there!

  24. NHL'94 tournament poster

    Hey Mikey,

    what are you doing with the poster? Is it being printed, and if so, where are you putting them?

    Or is it for online mainly?

    In the event that the last few spots are not getting filled, I would advertise here in Toronto one week before the event, like putting that poster in the Toronto Sun newspaper. It is old school, yes, but there are likely hundreds of people that would join here in Toronto (who wouldn't have to travel) if they knew about the tourney.

    With 29 spots left ($1305 total) we can't really afford to spend much on promotion. We need all that revenue to cover the Prize money. So on Wednesday we are going to do a social media push with Holly Wolf (the blonde on the left) she has 1.8 Million Facebook fans and we will see how that goes... Halifax and I are toying with the idea of adding room for more people. The problem with that is it would mean extra TV's and consoles. Ill be in Toronto next week to see what we can do to expand if we need to.
