This will be the final NHL'94 tournament at Storm Stayed Brewery in London Ontario until winter comes back. Here's the previous event:

Halifax discovered this tournament run at a brewery in London, Ontario. Here is their events page where their upcoming retro tournaments are listed: https://stormstayed.com/pages/events For a while we thought it was at the library... I'm a little confused still, but it was attended by @Len the Lengend and GR812NV.

I have this event in my records but can't find any other details about it. Here are the results I have: 1.Greg Cundari (AngryJay93) 2.Douglas Tincu (Brutus Khan) 3.Eric Vostal (EA) 4.Joseph Moore - (Green Majik) 5.Francis Buennagel (Mort) 6.Tom Stahnke 7.Daniel Slattery (DPS) 8.Sean Cunningham 9.Matt Stahnke 10.Phil Naumann @angryjay93 @IAmFleury'sHipCheck @DPS do you guys remember any details from this one? Where it took place?

I have this event in my records, but can't find any mention of it anywhere else anymore... Posting the results for safe-keeping. @annatar do you remember anything about this? Too bad the QC scene died out with COVID. Impressed by the size of this event. 29 people.

They used to have tournaments regularly before pre-2020 and stream them online. Good group of guys. You can sign up through this google form. The fee is ~$30 (for prize money and whatnot). This tournament is on the Sega Genesis. If you've got any questions or just want to get in touch with the players running or attending the tournament, you can join the NHL'94 Discord chat server at https://discord.gg/rMNhPDY5DZ and post in #the-roenick-rumble channel. Or post here if you prefer.

Register on EventBrite: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/nhl94-ottawa-tournament-tickets-731688880137 2pm to 8pm. Sega & SNES tournaments (simultaneous -- I wanted to do back-to-back but worried that 3 hours each wouldn't work) Limited to 24 total players, but expecting more like 16. No cost to register BUT the venue has a "stay & play" fee of $8 or $9 (website says 9.. i was quoted 8 a few months ago.. i'm guessing it's 9 now) I'm giving away $100 of my own money. $25 to the winner, $15 to 2nd, $10 to 3rd, on each console. Using the usual rules pretty much. See http://www.kingof94.ca/rules-and-format-ottawa.html Will probably be a Ro…

Hey guys, I'm an Enforcer at PAX East, and I've been running a GENS NHL 94 tournament for the last 6 years. The same guy keeps winning, so we need new blood!!! Current dates for PAX East are tentative! I will be running a whole slate of 16 bit tourneys this year; I will update this thread with specific days and times as the schedule firms up. I'm hoping to have a 2on2 tourney as well, and possibly a 2on2 Mod free play session. (I have an Everdrive, so we can play mods on original hardware) Details: - Sega Genesis. I might run a SNES tourney this year as well, if I can get enough interest. (Boston is Genesis territory) - Usually around 32 partici…

Everyone just reaching out to see the interest. We've seen alot of NHL94 and a new NHL95 league. Maybe me start thinking, if we should merge these together. Play best of 3 or 5 series with a 94 player vs a 95 player. If best of 3 play first game in NHL94 2nd game in nhl95 and tiebreaker whoever has the best record or goal differential chooses whether to play 94 or 95. Anyone have thoughts on this.

It's possible to stream your games through the Discord chat server. This only works on Windows 8/10. The viewer limit is somewhere between 10-50 viewers (normally 10, they're slowly raising it to 50 during the pandemic) Instructions: Install Discord on your computer: https://discordapp.com/download Run your emulator (it auto-detects RetroArch; I don't know about Gens or ZSnes) In Discord, below the channel list on the left, you'll see "RetroArch" (or other emulator) and a computer monitor icon. Click the monitor icon. A "Go Live" window will pop up. Select one of the "Game #" channels, then click the "Go Live" button. Your stream …

Gentlemen, As we continue to hold more and see and more live tournaments (KO94, Edge of 94, NYC, LI Retro, Montreal, etc), I want to come up with some bullet points to share with folks who are considering attending, but are on the fence. I have a feeling that the "tournament" aspect gets overplayed when we promote these events, and we forget that it's actually fun to just attend. At least that has been my experience when talking to everyone at these events. I am also trying to be self-aware as I have always placed in the top 2 at these things, so I don't want to be ignorant/arrogant in my view. So, please help by responding to this thread with any bullet …

Technically in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, near MTL It's a SNES tournament (though the graphic is Sega) $5 to compete https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/billets-tournoi-nhl-94-sur-snes-73689430069?aff=ebdssbdestsearch https://www.facebook.com/events/445212092869083/

It's at the Dallas Let's Play Gaming Expo. Admission to the expo gives you free admission to the tournament. Sega Genesis version Top 3 prizes are Dallas Stars tickets (see the rules sheet) https://www.letsplaygamingexpo.com/ Click here for the Rules PDF via the expo owner on facebook: Rules are similar to the usual except: you can be any team other than the All Stars, and it's automatic goalie. Round robin followed by bracket. The rules say best-of-3 for all matches, but I think that's just the playoffs actually.

A shortcoming of Challonge is the lack of triple elimination. They have a Feature Request list, and the triple elimination feature is 26th on the list (which puts it on the 2nd page). Can some buds sign in (using your google or facebook account) to their feedback site and add votes to the triple elimination request? Here's the link: https://feedback.challonge.com/forums/44455-feature-requests/suggestions/7033452-triple-and-quadruple-elimination-options Click the "Vote" button on the left Click the F or G for facebook or google and authorize (use "Edit this" to limit what account info they get access to) Click 3 votes (or 1 or 2 if you want..).…
