Ranatoro
In a game soon to be shown on EASN Classic, the Whalers notched their second consecutive win as well as their second overall in a real dogfight. The Whalers took a 2-0 lead in the first period on the strength of two Alexander Mogilny goals, one of which was a one-timer. The Senators came roaring back with three Stephane Richer goals in the second period to take a 3-2 lead into the third period. The Whale tied it up as Mogilny notched a hat trick early in the third. The Senators answered about a minute later to take the 4-3 lead on a Pavel Bure goal, but 11 seconds later, Mogilny responded yet again to tie it up at 4 with 3:10 to go. a couple minutes later, Mogilny notches his FIFTH goal of the game, a cheapie on an uncalled goalie interference, to take the 5-4 lead that the Whale would never relenquish. After starting the season 0-4, the Whalers are grateful to be notching their 3rd and 4th points of the season. the final: Mogilny 5, Ottawa 4. gg Mike Whalers 2-4-0-
