CoachMac
So it took me over 2 months to play the Regular Season but I have finished Empty Net 92 with an overall record of 36-64-10. It was fun and challenging as you can see by my record. Each team played a Home and Home with each other team in their division. The Adams and the Norris Divisions played a crossover series to get 10 games. I always controlled the Home team and I played with an Empty Net the entire game. I played with Line Changes and Penalties off. So lots of Fights but no one ever goes to the box and no injuries in 92 so the same guys on the ice the whole time SC Line 1. 3 minute periods. Here are the Final Standings, Stats, and Playoff Match ups. I am not sure how I am going to do the playoffs. http://www.nhl92.com/2014emptynet.htm Most things went as expected based on the 1991 season stats. Suprisingly Toronto won the Norris Division and was one of the strongest teams. Calgary was disappointing. In season 2 I am going to use Line 2 and Goalie 2 for each team and go thru all 7 lines to give each season different feel. CoachMac
http://www.nhl92.com/2014emptynet.htm So, I finally finished Empty Net 92 and Pittsburgh (4-0) won it all. They were the only team to win 4 straight and skate with the Cup. They also beat Edmonton (3-1) in the Finals who were the only other team I reached the Final with and they beat Boston (2-1) in the Wales Conference Final who was the only other team I was able to reach the conference final with. For the playoffs I just set the brackets based on the regular season and then tried to win the cup with each of the 16 teams that qualified. Empty Net 92 was fun. It is great practice. It gives you a great idea of who the strongest teams are in 92. Pittsburgh is far and away the best team. Edmonton is strong but maybe faired better because they are the team I am most familiar with and use the most. Boston is strong and would be my 2nd ranked team. Hartford and Toronto were suprisingly good and Calgary faired much worst than I thought. Chicago was great when I controlled them and poor when the CPU did. The Rangers, Canadiens, and Kings were all good. Here is how I would rank the teams. #1 Pittsburgh #12 Minnesota #2 Boston #13 NY Islanders #3 Chicago #14 Buffalo #4 Edmonton #15 New Jersey #5 Los Angeles #16 Washington #6 NY Rangers #17 Vancouver #7 Montreal #18 Winnipeg #8 Toronto #19 Detroit #9 St. Louis #20 Philadelphia #10 Calgary #21 Quebec #11 Hartford #22 San Jose
