  1. Hey Mikey,

Can we get a camera feed of the players in the final games as well as a feed of the actual game up on big screens? I'm just kidding because that would be super distracting to the players (though awesome for everyone else!) but I'm sure we'll have plenty of action video of all of us playing. On a more serious note, is someone going to be video-recording any of the games? Since these will be played on the actual consoles, we can't just check the record checkbox and save the game. I know we're going to be logging them somehow. How many video cameras are you expecting to have at the event (that aren't smart phones)?

    Thanks,

    -Evan

  2. How long did it take to get your passport? I'd like to get a full one but I'm assuming that would take too long and I have to get a passport card for this event?

Mine was a renewal so it only took 3-4 weeks to get. If you're getting one for the first time, read up on the US Gov site for how long it takes. I know there's a process to get one expedited, so look into that too?

  3. Great thread Kabs! I could put a lot down here but here's the top 5 for each:

    In General (Non-Sports)

    1. Red Faction (PC) - the original one with geo-mod - online gameplay was amazing

    2. Starwars Galactic Battlegrounds (PC)

    3. Toejam & Earl (Sega Genesis)

    4. Worms World Party (PC)

    5. Super Mario Bros 1,2,3 (NES)

Honorable Mention: Kid Chameleon (Sega Genesis), and Call of Duty first Modern Warfare (PC)

    Sports Only

    1. NHL'94 (Sega Genesis)

    2. NHL'92 (Sega Genesis)

    3. NHLPA'93 (Sega Genesis)

    4. Blades of Steel (NES)

    5. Baseball Simulator 1000 (NES) - for those who played - you could bunt with Boyd and run the bases for an inside-the-parker before anyone could react

    Honorable Mention: Hardball 6 (PC)

  4. It's funny you're so down on Cole/Bureau. I haven't played with Tampa much on the emulator, but on console the weight bug makes them a lot of fun.

If I play with Tampa, the starting lineup would typically be:

    LW Bureau

    C Bradley

    RW Cole

    D Beers

    D Lipuma

Weight bug means checks and more offensive opportunities.

  5. Agree that there should be 1 Gens and 1 Snes champ. If the winners of each wanted to play each other on each console afterwards for fun, go for it but it shouldn't really mean anything.

The 2 versions of the game play very different and should be treated as such. Most people have played 1 version for a long time, and I don't think it'd make sense to only crown 1 champ.

One system will never be better than the other, just live along side each other like 2 loving siblings :)

  6. How many trophies is this for you, Evan?

HAHA - This would be the only one I have my friend.

Not sure if you remember, but I only played online from Fall 2005 (our first league which you participated in) to somewhere maybe in 2007. During that time (when leagues were new) I tried to only score fancy goals (worst game plan ever) and had some connection issues (though we probably all did). I didn't have a track record of being that good. I hadn't played in a league for about 8 years and came back to some pretty tough competition. I do play/practice on my Gens console, and though many will disagree, I think playing against the CPU makes you better against other people. There's only 1 human controlled opponent on the rink but the rest are CPU :)
