    please download the SNES editor.

(you may also want at least one hex editor.  I like Hex Fiend, but I also use another for the other sequencing format.) get used to opening files.  tinker.

please read the ROM mapping thread.

    http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/13150-snes-nhl94-rom-mapping-project/

selfishly, I would like to start with my existing file, but the roster section(s) can be copied in either direction, and that is where most of the work lies -- in the player data updates.  I imagine you helping by copying entire player lines, changing jersey numbers and weights to current, replacing retirees with rookies for me to rate.  what do you envision, just helping me get my thing done, creating something fresh together, working along side and sharing roster work?

let me know where you have answers/questions.  thank you!

I think it would be the better option to start with your existing file. Starting fresh sounds terrifying as this is all new to me.

I'm interested in working along side and sharing the roster work. First, like you said, is getting the right players lined up on each team and then going through and updating ratings/numbers/weights etc. I'd like a say in ratings and such. The guys that have worked on the last couple Genesis versions have the ratings setup pretty fairly I would say and if we can keep the ratings somewhat similar, I'll be happy with the end product.

I'll download the programs tonight and read through the ROM mapping thread to get an idea of what I'm in for. :)

    wow, wow, wow.

I got a custom-made cartridge, of a previous season's ROM, a few years ago, from a member no longer around. it needed to be redone because it didn't work 94% of the time. it was made form a donor cartridge. it had an okay label.

this one, that I received in the mail today, is perfect. it's got a killer label. it's made of entirely new parts. it works exactly like it should.

we have a cartridge maker among us. I hope he sticks around and decides to offer up his services to the community. if he does, you will not be disappointed. I am abandoning my own attempts to make these things, because it isn't easy and I will not do this well.

I'm not really satisfied with my old ROMs anymore, as small errors I missed went unfixed until I forgot what they were, and my formulae have improved significantly since those were created, but... I think I may have hard copies made for a full on-shelf collection.

    Hi There,

How would I go about getting one of those? I still have my SNES from when I was a kid and would love to get a copy of this to play on there.
    Help?

Yeah, I would like to do both of those.

Last year of 21 Team Era and First year for the Sharks.

I kinda like to focus on this type of year.

1952 was first year HNIC was on TV.
1967 last year of Original 6.
1970 last year of 12 Teams Expansion 6.
1973 Flames and Islanders first year.
1980 first year of WHA merger + The Miracle.
1987 end of the 80's, Gretzky, Islanders, etc... (I know he stayed one more year and Oilers won 2 more Cups but 87 felt like the end)

I have partial work done on:
    1956
    1960
    1963
    1968
    1976
    1984
    1990
    1991
    1999

Also Naples does very nice roms ( I steal some stuff from him) and he did a 1992.
    You can find his here.  He did 1987, 1989, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999

I almost forgot about Clockwise 1991 edit.  I can't find the link so I will just post the rom for you.  Ratings are way jacked up IMO, but a very nice rom and one of the first full edits done.

I am also reuploading my 1987 rom as I had some mistakes on Overall Team ratings.

    Awesome! thanks!

Good work goodbyeccha! I just wrote a bat-file for a rink selection. Check it and if you approve, you may attach it to your original NHL15 package. Just place it on same folder where HOCKEY.EXE is.

    rinkselect.zip

    Hello again!
I just realised I don't have the team rinks in my game. I have put that rinkselect .bat file in the folder you suggested but I always get the NHL logo on the ice no matter who I play with. Where do I put all the rink artwork files for the individual team rinks?

Any help is always appreciated! :)

Yes. I have started compiling all of the jerseys I have made over the years into one package to share on this forum. I don't have much time to work on it but 10-15 minutes per day. I hope to have something to share in a few weeks.  Thanks for the interest.

Thanks! I look forward to it. :)

  6. Goodbyccha,

Can you post some of those jerseys? Is there any chance that you have those NHL15 jerseys in the classic NHL95 team format?
I know you switched the teams around in your conversion, wondering if you have a way to put those new jerseys over the old ones,,,

Would really appreciate you sharing your quality work. :)

smozoma did guide you already, just wondering what do you mean by "when I copy and past it into a text file, there are no commas"? What did you copy and from where?

Appreciate the feedback. I'm trying to edit attributes to one of the rosters that I downloaded from a forum on here and when I try to save the file after editing it in Excel it saves ok. It's when I'm using the csvtogame program that it isn't copying over to the files I'm supposed to put back in the main directory to change the attributes.
I copied everything from the excel sheet and pasted it into notepad and saved it from there and still it didn't transfer once I used the csvtogame program. Just wondering what I'm doing wrong because I've followed all the steps in the readme files that are attached.

I figured out the problem. Excel was adding commas to the goalie lines so that each line had the same number of delimiters. I deleted those in a text editor and it imported fine. Thanks for the awesome program it makes custom rosters infinitely easier.

Newbie here, so did you save it back as a .csv format once you edited it in the text editor? I'm having the same issue with it not importing and I'm using Excel 2007 but when I copy and past it into a text file, there are no commas. Any help is greatly appreciated.
