  3. Note to Smoz and others in Farm....

I "technically" am in Farm league, but I don't think it would be fair if i score 10-15 goals per gm on the new players and make them runaway from the site. NHL94 hopefully will continue to be a thriving community...that's what farm is for. I am available to play, but I think it is good for the new players to get adjusted to online play and just feel the game out.

If someone drops out of A league PERMANENTLY and doesn't pull a Brett Favre, I'll consider joining if the timing is right for me

  4. A great series no doubt--very close for most of the way. Congrats to Icestorm, a truly tough opponent, quite possibly my toughest opponent ever on this site. He stymied all kinds of shots from so many angles with his manual goalie. It was a great run to make it to the finals, but MTL really couldn't match the speed and shot power of DAL. Offense wins games, but defense wins championships. Ice gave up a miniscule 20 goals in 6 gms, an eye popping 3.33 GAA number to the highest scorer in the conference.

  5. Well wags if you are using Daytwah in blitz, it is quite a challenge, so no worries. I'd probably put Dino at LW, King Fed at C, and Yzer at RW. Of course you gotta have Hot Coffey in the game, but not sure about the other defenseman, my experience is far too limited in weight adjusted roms.

Federov becomes the most attractive scoring option at a 7 weight. In my ultra(and I did say ultra!) limited experience in this weight bug rom, if your player has less than a 7 weight, utilizing that forward in a congested lane becomes quite difficult. Since I don't have the patience for a plethora of passing, and I love to deke and slash and confuse a manual goalie with numerous shot angles, I need a guy like Fed/Klima/Gartner at 7 weight or higher to be that one on one scoring machine. In blitz, Ciccarrelli(5 weight) becomes Checkarelli and so does Yzer(at 6 weight) if they are anywhere near a crowd. With this being said, Dino and Yzer are still effective weapons in this rom b/c their skill set is off the charts, but they have a disdain for physical contact. However their speed and agility can help avoid a few checks to give them some high percentage scoring opportunities. King Fed is the man...and his relatively high awareness makes him a pretty decent option for one timing action.

  6. Well it was a very gritty series for MTL against the offensive juggernaut Red Wings... Bo made me work for every shot with his physical defensive play.

Still Lebeau and Savard were just too much for Chevy. Montreal outlasts Detroit 4 games to 1, and advances to the Stanley Cup. ggs man

    Game 1 DET 3@ MTL 4

    Game 2 DET 4@ MTL 3

    Game 3 MTL 5@ DET 3

    Game 4 MTL 7 @ DET 2

    Game 5 DET 3 @ MTL 6

  7. Yeah lets get this in...my availabilities

Friday evening 7PM EST and after

Saturday and Sunday(all day any time--I'll be on and see you here if FRI can't work for you)

Let me know if these times don't work out for you.

  8. Wow...going to that Ravens-Steelers game and afterwards immediately driving home to play nhl94? That's some uber dedication especially with a heartpounding division game. I'm in no hurry to get my second series in as I'll be traveling and away from a comp for much of the next 2 weeks, so if you guys needed to wait this one out a bit for a better time, I'm perfectly cool with it.
