  1. I was messing around a few weeks ago and came up with these two images that have the league winners names "engraved" into the cup. Enjoy.
  2. Evan, any chance we can get the AIM accounts listed beside the teams like they are for the SNES post?
  3. Someone LIKES Ottawa?? Who knew? Can't wait for the season to start!
  4. Any chance we're going to see the B Division teams and owners listed any time soon?
  5. Good question. If I'm not mistaken, in the NHL - home ice is awarded to the team with the higher points because they re-seed. I believe the NBA does it differently and uses the seed to determine home ice.
  6. Just wonder how the divisions will be set up? Just noticing that now the Atlantic and Pacific both have only 4 teams, where the Northeast and Central both have 6. Any idea yet?
  7. Welcome to the B my friend. I look forward to battleing it out to move up, should be some good practice. Now, is it just me... or is Evan not on that A league list?
  8. Had a look at your site. Increadable man, thats exactly what I had in mind. At the end of each game, rather than putting in your score you'd just upload your gamefile and all the data would be parsed from that. Seems like a lot of work to impliment right away and obviously some bugs to iron out, but I think as this league grows and becomes solid, that is certainly where its headed (isn't technology wonderful?) Did something like tihs for my hockey pool last year (out pool was team based, starting lineups). We did it like weekly and looked back at the last three weeks (obviously has to be adjusted as per how this league opperates) and how many goals were tallied that week and games won, etc. It's a really fun idea.
  9. Just wondering if anyone knows or is speculating what team they got and in what league. I went after the Sabers in the B league and I registered pretty early, so I'm thinking I got 'em. Anyone else?
  10. Deadline this thing. The Snes playoffs is like our gangly twin brother that's been locked away in the attic
  11. Just hope there'll be some consideration for those who stuck around and will be on at 12:01 ready to put there bid in for a team. I'm sure you have the formula for success, good luck to you Evan.. I'm sure you'll put up with enough.
  12. Best Overall Coach Of the Season - Kgman Best One-Timer Coach - Best Deke Coach - Best Slapshot Coach - Best Defensive Coach - Tickenest (9-0, 7-0, 6-1... ya) Best Offensive Coach - Kgman Most Improved Coach - aepurniet Best Coach With A Low Rated Team - John (San Jose... cammon!) Best Replacement Coach - Kgman (nod to Carse as well) Best Rookie Coach - John Coach Who Stuck It Out Through The Hard Times - Rocco (New Jersey stinks!)
  13. I heard some talk of statistic tracking... is that possible? I'm not familiar with any of the emulators other than Gens, but I understand there is a way to save your game, and therefor able to check all the scorers? Just wondering, because that would be awesome!
  14. Tonight's the night huh? Let's see about this... maybe another deadline come and gone?
  15. Ah man, I'm usually good.. and I think I even knew what it was... I was just spur of the moment typing. Shesh.
  16. I think anyone living in Canada will be away this weekend. It's a LONG WEEKEND!! Since we're all campers and cottage-goers up here, it's gonna be a hard for us Canucks to get online. Too bad the registration doesnt open Thursday or something. <hint, hint>
  17. Ya, I think the growth of the community is what we're going towards. As much as I was against the poker guys idea of a monetary prize, I did like his point about motivating people to complete their games and not just signup and walk away so easily. I wish there was a way outside of a registration fee (refundable or not) that would get people to actually play their games. It a tough balance between taking a chance by allowoing new commers and growing the community with people who ACTUALLY want to stick around and play. I think the A/B league idea is certainly helpful in keeping people from being discouraged and walking away when they're faced up against powerhouses like Tickness and kgman. Its great that people are talking and throwing around ideas and that Even actually takes them all into consideration when deciding whats best for the league.
  18. Congratulations to Dallas and Kgman! This guy walked into the league late on a struggling team, with a mediocre Stars squad and just hammered the competition. He is truly a great champion. I'd really like to see an inter-league series between the winner of the SNES league (if there ever is one) and Kgman (Gens winner). I would imagine a best of 7 series alternating between systems or maybe a 3 on one, 3 on another type thing and then if it ties, take goals for and against (like soccer). Either way, congrats.
  19. PHP is so much more flexable. I'd be willing to lend a hand on any programming if needed. I think the stats idea would add a dimension to that game that unparalleled! Also, just to throw in my 2 cents, I think chosing teams in order from whoever finished last is definetly the way to go. 1st - Promoted/Relegated teams (with the relegation system.. this would only be nessisary for year 2 and beyond) 2nd - Reverse order from last to first in the standings 3rd - All new comers to the league (gotta pay your dues!) It's definetly the fairest system and provides the best competition.
  20. Why is everything about money money money?? What ever happened to just playing for fun and bragging rights? In my opinion, you add money, you're asking for disaster. People get way too upset and competitive and cheat, its ugly. I mean, money between a few friends in a pool or whatever is fun, but this is a video game, its just to have a good time. I'm sure Even put all this time into this site because he likes to play the game as most of us do. From my impressions of the league, I don't really think money would add anything by way of competitiveness or comradery and was probably not what the commissioner had in mind when he started the league. The league operates perfectly with people from all over North America coming together to play a 12 year old game that we all enjoyed in our youth. Leave it at that! (feel free to go back to the gay-a-thon that hijacked this thread)
  21. Can someone come up with a list of the top servers? I mean, it seems almost all the servers I'm using end up getting choppy, I rarely get a smooth game anymore. Is there no program out there that offers direct IP connection to each other?? Seriously? Because I get seemless play with NHL2006 no problem, its these servers and all the lag, its terriable! Help!
  22. kgman just RAVAGED Feez. wow. Too bad we had to wait so long for that. I guess it was sort of inevitable though, this kgman seems to be all the rage, and he certainly is prooving his worth. Good thing there will be two teirs next season.. I definetly can't compete with that kind of talent. This should be an interesting final though... I'm taking Phili in 7.
  23. I'm rather curious myself. I check in once a week to see if maybe a title has been crowned, and rarely see any progress. I anticipated the playoffs would be done long ago and we'de already be onto a new season by now. It's sort of discouraging for those of us waiting around I guess.... it just seems like a new season is never going to begin (because this old one never going to end) I suspect the lack of games is due to the fact that it's summer. Which is totally understandable. Except, I think in all fairness, if you're not able to play your games in a reasonable amount of time, let Evan know. I mean, if you're not really "excited" enough to want to play your games at the earliest possible time, then you probably don't even care whether you win or lose anyways. I'm sure I'll take some flack, but so be it.. I'm getting wrestless... it'll be the most action I'll see around this site since the regular season ended.
