  1. Maple Leaf fans are the worst because they DO show up. Tickets sell out in minutes after release, are the most inflated in price around the league and fans go to the games even if the team losses 82 games straight. This is reason 1 of many why the Leafs will never win a cup in my life time.
  2. Ya, I dont blame you guys.. I'm not even in the playoffs and I find some time to check in now and again... and nothing has changed in weeks. I expected the playoffs to FLY considering how excited people seemed about them.
  3. Anyone who's not in the playoffs still checking in now and again? Just curious because I don't use AIM for anything other than nhl94, hence I'm not on there much anymore. Just wanted to know who was still around.
  4. That all sounds fantastic! I like the idea of religation, so the league sort of evens itself. Much better for competition. Count me in for Group B (Just NOT with New Jersey again! )
  5. The layoff is killin' me! Haha "Field of Dreams", good analogy.
  6. I was just thinking that. These SNES guys are really excited about the playoffs. ... that was sarcastic... yeah...
  7. Is anyone else suprised to see NHL95 not get any voted thus far? I'll be honest, I hate the game, but I really thought other people were really into it.
  8. I clumped them together because 92 is so useless and I thought it was similar in game play to 93, much the same as 94 except without the one times (more or less). I dont think I can even change the poll can I? Well just assume vote for either in that option.
  9. Been sort of quiet in there the past few days... spice it up a little with a poll. Don't shoot me if this has been polled before. If you play them on PC, thats fine too, just assume PC where applicable.
  10. That was more or less what I wanted to know. I had mixed feeling myself, at first I was like "a draft would be so fun", but then on the other hand, it's the game we grew up on. It's been a long time since I was into any serious Java prgoramming, so I'm just fishing for a project I think.
  11. Certainly not true. Hypothetically speaking.... let me set up an scenario: The draft was done online via a Java Applet (exactly what you'd have at a typical poker website for example). Then each team would get a log in, and could either choose to auto draft (which would basically select the top player available that meets your need at that time - position, speed, checking, etc) or to be part of the live draft. If you're live drafting, you'd have like 1 minute to make your pick or else it goes into auto draft mode and picks the best available player. So now you've covered the people who like to draft, people who don’t like to draft (auto-draft), as well as limit the time the draft would take (auto drafting is done instantaneously) and evened the teams in the process. SO, that in mind (and trust me, I'm not talking about anything that’s not possible given someone wanted to spend the time to develop such an application).... would that change your answer to the question? Again, TOTALLY HYPATHETICAL, I'm not insinuating that Evan should develop such an application, or that this is how the league should operate, I'm just curious for my own sake.
  12. I'm just curious what people think around here. NOT suggesting this is how it should be done here, just asking out of curiosity. I know there is another league going on that does this with lesser teams. I'm just curious if people thing a league like that takes away from the authenticity of the game, or whether people think it would be better and more fun to draft and even up the teams. ASSUME that it was possible to get everyone online at the same time to do the draft.
  13. ANOTHER Quebec coach? The last guy was so gung-ho about playing for all of 2 days. I hope this kneegrow queef demon is ready to get a few games in.... ....thats his name... I'm not making this up.
  14. That was more or less my point. I know if I was good, I would totally use Ottawa and pull the goalie, just to show off!
  15. Totally agree. Just think about how I feel getting stuck with crappy NJ and being a crappy player to start with! Sort of a double negative.
  16. What does it have to do with "like"? I mean really, not to be a dick, but so called "good players" only like the strong fast teams so they can beat up on the weak using the same moves over and over. But at least if the good players use the lesser teams, there might actually be some competition in the league.
  17. Totally agree! This league is for fun, I mean look at me.. I lose like 10-0 every game, but I still love to play. Let's face it... most of us here are adults, playing a video game that's 12 years old! Think about that for a second and then realize how stupid and petty it is to do anything other than take it all in stride and have a good time.
  18. I think next time around, the cuttoff date for the 3 terms should be modified a bit. Rather than 3 four-week stints, maybe like 5 weeks, 4 weeks, 3 weeks. I mean, you end up playing most of your 3rd month games throughout anyways, so much less time is needed. Even 6-4-2 would work I think. Just a suggestion. I mean, I'm not in the post season either way, but for those who are done and have to wait 4 weeks, sorta kills the momentum I guess, waiting for all the slacker. Good luck to all those in the post season!!
  19. Ya, I have to agree, the site is looking really great. Glad you chose to go the database route.
  20. Oh wow, you totally missed my point... maybe I wasnt clear. I meant... We choose the team we use not by preference of who wants who, but rather on whoever finished last, up to first. So if I finished last, I would draft a better team next season, thus eliminates the problem of the best players using the best teams and giving those of up who are less skilled somewhat of a chance.
  21. I wasn't around when the teams were being picked, but i'm just curious for next time around... any chance of picking teams draft style starting with the teams who finished last all the way to first, then finally the new comers picking last?? Just a thought, maybe make things a little more competative. Because isn't that what it's all about?
  22. I have to agree, there certainly is no perfect system... but I think this structure works for this type of league. You cant avoid deadbeats, so in the end, they end up at the bottom of the standings anyways.
  23. Genesis? If so, AIM me... NHL94Nostalgia. I'm not very good either, so at least it'll be good practice.
  24. Tried to contact everyone from month 1, got a few games in.. but WHERE IS EVERYONE ELSE? Anyone who wants a game: NHL94Nostalgia (AIM)
