  1. Please schedule some time here when you get a chance guys. Thanks!

2/11 Thu = Maybe 730-830 CST... depends on response today

    2/12 Fri = OUT

2/13 Sat = OUT - fixing girlfriend's NES and then putting beat down on Super Mario 3

2/14 Sun = OUT - VD duties call... and no, that's not venereal disease... at least not this year ;-)

    2/15 Mon = 630-830 CST

  2. Beavers, whenever my schedule is getting tight, like EA's as well, I try to PM the players I never see on with me, and get aggressive in setting up some games. It prevents that last week of schedule left trying to cram 8 games with guys who all play at the wrong times. Not saying you are WRONG, just saying it's how I always get to 100% with a late night only schedule. So basicaly, after the first week or two, I have to reach out to find out when I can get games in, because 50% of the guys don't play when I do.

Brutus speaks truths here. Know a block of time that works for you and post it on the forums. However, more times than not, it's more effective to send out a couple PMs per week to try to knock those games out. Most guys are willing to set up times pretty quickly. I'll be doing that this week myself.

  3. I've been updating my availability a couple times per week with little to no responses. That thread is best way to book games with me. Check out link... EA Availability thread

Hope that works for you guys!

    Games remaining:

    LABS - Pittsburgh x 2

    Plabax - Arizona x 1 1/3

    Uncle Seth - LA x 2

    Zeppelin - Edmonton x 4

    RoBro - Chicago x 2

    Darko - Detroit x 2

    Icestorm - Buffalo x 2

brutus - Rockford x 2 (thx for trying to hook up last week, we'll get it in this week)

    VC - Florida x 2

    Bo - Hartford x 2

    Beav - Min x 2

    Zalex - Calgary x 2

    Sicarius - St. Louis x 2

  4. I've been pretty good about posting times here with no takers... that is, outside of people I played and Brutus who we'll make sure to get those in this week.

Anyway, please schedule some time here when you get a chance guys. Thanks!

  5. Forum Members should be secret players that can be unlocked by pressing certain button combos, NBA Jam style!

e.g. Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Select Start will get you KingRaph on the NY Rangers.

    HAHA Awesome!

Speaking of NBA Jam - Tips n Tricks - (forgive me, I'm just trying to recall this from memory) On arcade version, hold down-right on P1 stick while holding all buttons on P1 & P2 to unlock secret tank battle game... if you survive the game for specified amount of time, you'll hear a knock sound and you will return to tip off with all players having juiced up skills.

  6. I think in today's day and age it is all about online gaming. While we get by with with an ancient emulator that hasnt been updated in almost a decade (GENS), online play could be much improved.

A PC or console based NHL94 release with online play similar to what we have in NHL2015+.

    - Season mode

    - Detailed stats

    - World rankings

    - Original ratings for NHL94 mode and updated rankings with new rosters and new teams including roster patches etc.

    - Slightly updated graphics (see Crossy Road for AppleTV, still pixelated and true to the roots but much more HD)

    - New music in game

    Definitely all of these.

If we're going with ideas to integrate from current gen console gaming, it would be fun to have some achievements thrown in there. Including the ability to earn community based achievements throughout any given year. (Ex. patch earned for community participation in scoring 5,000 pass shots in 1 week)... could be fun

    • 2on2.com league I can't quite remember what year this was but it was a pretty awesome time for 2on2 as there probably 8 teams playing out a whole season.
    • 2on2 Summit Series I think this was 2008 or 2010 when this first began. A best of 199 series between players from the USA and Canada. There was one summit series that went to an epic game 199! Lots of fun, with lots of community engagement.

2on2 Summit series I believe was 2008 b/c I was still around during that time. I was not a fan of that series since it pitted me against my 2on2 partner... the one and only HABS himself.

2on2 leagues were great... intense match ups with a lot of guys but I remember those of HABS & me vs. VC & Clockwize were the most epic at that time.

  7. I was on last night but no one was around... at least that I need to play. Aqua Lizard seems to be always on when I'm around which is great for anyone looking for some exis.

I did get a couple in with Plabax later on and there seemed to be people online but no responses came back on game requests.

So for Tue-Thu, those times are available but since my time is limited, I'm only going to jump on if people schedule times here or reach out to me ahead of time. Hopefully we can get some games in soon!

    2/2 Tue = 6:30--9:00 CST

    2/3 Wed = Maybe 6:30--9:00 CST

    2/4 Thu = Maybe 6:30--9:00 CST

    2/5 Fri = OUT

    2/6 Sat = OUT

2/7 Sun = OUT Super Bowl Sunday Funday

  8. Hey guys,

I just finished moving over the weekend. Although I still have a lot of organizing to do, I'm looking to get games in.

Here is my availability this week: Due that I still have a lot of work to get settled in, I would appreciate setting up game times here.

    2/1 Mon = 6:30-9:00 CST

    2/3 Wed = Maybe 6:30--9:00 CST

    2/4 Thu = Maybe 6:30--9:00 CST

    2/5 Fri = OUT

    2/6 Sat = OUT

2/7 Sun = OUT Super Bowl Sunday Funday

  9. In what world is a 4-2 lead safe when the home team just scored with 3:41 left in the 3rd, especially when the guy who scored the goal is a better player than me regardless of the outcome of the previous 3 games? I believe in the timeout, I finished my season with 22 wins probably gonna miss out on a playoff birth by a game, or 2 so yes I call timeout there as every game at that juncture of my season was important to me.

And thank you for basically quiting after the time out running out the final 3:41 without trying to score.

Whether you agree with it, or not you should just type ggs man. I didn't say s**t about your 10 pauses during live game play to replay me laying you out with perfectly placed B checks on light weight guys then proceeding to show me the team roster page with the weights listed over, and over again, well until right now.

Hey, what can I say, you're the type of guy who calls timeouts when you're running the table on someone, I'm not. You're well within you're right to do that and you can play how you want but don't get bent when someone doesn't think that's cool.

By the way, I paused the game 3 times at the very most and I'm pretty sure it was when my goalie had possession... I would never do it if you had advantage. Also, I wasn't trying to show you anything... I was checking for myself bc I don't have every attribute memorized like a lot of guys around here. By the way, they weren't b checks I was pausing on... I was checking to see if they were CB/AI vs C checks.

And last thing guy, I always write ggs.

  10. Also I think you owe lupz an apology. Getting mad at someone for using a timeout when they have a lead is pretty damn douchebaggy lol. He's one of the nicest guys in the community

TK, you're a good guy so I'll explain here. We had a 4 game series. He won the first 3 and not sure what the scores were but I'll admit it wasn't like it was even close. We're 1/2 way through the 4th game and a miracle happens, I actually get one of my few goals of the day to bring the score to 4-2. He calls a timeout and I type "seriously?". So you can call that getting angry, being a douchebag, whatever but I can tell you that if the tables were turned, I wouldn't be calling timeouts on a guy when I'm sweeping them in a series. Maybe that's just me.

I've got no bad feelings with Lupz but if he's bent out of shape about it, well that sucks but at least you know where I'm coming from.

  11. An early pass shot expert was cro0ssbar. Although, he tended to only score them from the faceoff dot, whereas now there are many different techniques such as 1) coming straight at the goalie, deke back and forth and then pass it just inside the post (only one I can do with any consistency) 2) cut across the front and slam it home (it was Zalex or Frey who I first saw that from) 3) skate in at the post and fire it at that post and in (I saw Plabax do it in a video, then Voc caught me with that at King of 94), and of course 4) five-hole (hokkee does that a lot)

CB checks were discovered by Plabax

An uncommon but effective scoring method is, what someone referred to back in around GDL2 times, the "EA special" (after EricAnthony). Shoot a weak wrister at the goalie, it bounces off the goalie and the goalie goes down or dives, then pick up the rebound with your player and score. AJ, Raph, and Seth have done that to me in more modern times.

Smoz, you remember everything... you're a living archive! I had no idea about the pass shot with cro0ssbar and why he was kicked off the site... that's really interesting though.
