  1. I have uploaded the .bin file to my Yahoo briefcase. You can get the file here.

If you can help me with players for other teams, maybe adding a few players to Edmonton and NY Rangers, then I welcome all the help I can get. I'm also going to try and edit the overall team ratings for future versions, but if someone with more knowledge of hex editing than me (anyone really) wants to do the team overall ratings, let me know.

  2. So yeah, I'm making a hack for NHL 94 (Gens) using NOSE alone. I've already done 4 teams (New Jersey, Buffalo, Edmonton, and Pittsburgh), and am doing goalies for the rest of them right now. I will release it for public testing when I'm done with goalies for everyone. Players from the 80's, 90's, and today's modern-day NHL are in there. With this new project, I figure since I'm no good at actually playing, I could maybe come up with something the community would like.

    Muller's Pair Sink Devils

It was a first for New Jersey...an away game. The result however, was pretty much the same.

Kirk Muller blasted the net for 2 goals, both off of Bob Essensa. Essensa was pulled at 4-0, and Darcy Wakaluk was sent in, kicking and screaming. When asked why he keeps getting pulled from most games, Essensa offered this little ditty. "Durr...I don't know..."

Wakaluk fared a bit better, only letting in 2 more. Coach Delgado confirmed that Darcy Wakaluk is his new starting goaltender until he stinks up a place. "We feel right now that Darcy gives us the best chance not to get blown out 200 to nothing. Bob's played his heart out, but right now, it isn't working."

  4. When notified about San Jose coach Angryjay93's public apology to the Devils, coach Delgado replied with this.

"I appreciate his apology, but really, it isn't necessary. I know they weren't trying to run up the score. Sometimes when you're playing a game, you get into a zone. They were in the zone the moment the first puck was dropped. It happens"

Jimmy Carson's Double Hat Trick Lays Waste to New Jersey

The Mickey Mouse show was in full swing tonight, as San Jose literally ate the Devils for dinner in a 11-0 feast. It felt like famine for the Devils, who drew a season high 3,333 fans to the Brendan Byrne Arena. Problem was, they were all San Jose's fans. There was, however, one brave Devils fan who wore a paper bag over his head and a noose around his neck. The paper bag read "Fire Delgado". That fan was not alone in his criticism of Delgado's workings.

"I respect him, but this is too much. We're getting blown out on a regular basis, and the team's not happy. Something's gotta give" Devils star Doug Gilmour said as he left the arena. "He's as disappointed as we are, but he's not doing anything about it" Adam Graves said. To top it off, the previously-suspended Doug Lidster made another anti-Delgado comment. "We're working our ***es off for this guy, and what has he done for us? He's no coach, he's a publicity stunt, and a bad one. He's just a disaster waiting to happen".

Delgado fired back at his team, but not what we expected. This was an extremely remorseful Tom Delgado who spoke to the media after the game. "I feel terrible that this team is not responding to what we're trying to do. While I might feel bad about our terrible start, I'm not going to quit. If I quit now, I'm letting down the front office, the fans that still come out to the games, and our players. This is still my dream job, and I have every intention of seeing the season out. I will not be forced out under ANY circumstances. I will, however, try to make things better for our players and our fans. Me and the coaching staff are going to work extra hard from here and try to get these guys the win they deserve"

  6. Doug Gilmour proved himself to be an invaluable asset to the Devils. Too bad he can't be on a winning team.

He puts in all 3 goals for the Devils. Good for him. Bad for him, the Lightning put 4 in the back of the net, and once again, the Devils skated off the ice dejected after their latest defeat. "We're playing as hard as we can, it just isn't working for us right now" Gilmour said at his locker after the game. Another player, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told us that "Delgado is a quack. He doesn't know a damn thing about the game, and he's the reason why we're not winning. The front office better wake up and fire him before things get worse". When told of this player's comments, coach Delgado knew who it was and announced that Doug Lidster was suspended 1 game for comments detrimental to the team.

Gilmour's Grim Look as Hat Trick Isn't Enough

  7. Another home game, another home loss, another miserable performance.

A 4 goal performance by Mike Gartner doomed the Devils to a pathetic 14-2 drubbing. After the game, coach Tom Delgado did not talk to the media. From the way he was coaching tonight, it just didn't seem like he wanted to be there. As usual, the team followed its coach, delivering a depressing performance. Brendan Shanahan and Paul Ysebart each scored a goal, but they didn't seem to want to win tonight. From the view of this reporter, I hope something in the front office is done to bring some intensity back to the Brendan Byrne Arena.

True to his word, Darcy Wakaluk got the start tonight, and from the start, he looked absolutely helpless. It was said after the 2nd period, he was begging coach Delgado to put Essensa in. Delgado refused to even hear it, and forced him back out there to get shelled again. A paid crowd of 876 saw the whipping, and were worshipping Mike Gartner by game's end. After the game in the Bruins locker room, center Wayne Gretzky called Tom Delgado out, calling him a "quitter", while laughing at the Devils organization yet again, and providing proof to his claim that the Devils were, and always will be, a "Mickey Mouse" organization. When told about Gretzky's comments, coach Delgado a shrug and said "He can say whatever he wants. He's probably right".

  8. It took them forever, but the Devils played a close game. The ending, however...not so much.

Despite 2 goals from Doug Gilmour, and a goal & assist from Brendan Shanahan, it was not enough for the Devils to finally notch their first point of the season. 2 goals from Luc Robitalle and the game winner from Cam Neely helped the Tampa Bay Lightning get their first points of the year, 4-3.

"This one hurts. This one REALLY hurts." Said Devils coach/GM Tom Delgado. One look at the Devils locker room after the loss showed how much this team wanted to play hard in front of a season-high crowd of 2,771. Adam Graves was seen with his head down in front of his locker. He was either upset, or sleeping. Probably sleeping, even though he didn't log any ice time tonight. "Darcy's gonna start the next game" Delgado also said, referring to backup goaltender and career journeyman Darcy Wakaluk. Delgado had been impressed with Wakaluk's performance in relief of Bob Essensa during blowouts where Essensa had been, for lack of a better word, terrible. When told he was going to start, Darcy ran out of the shower and made a snow angel out of shaving cream.

    Gilmour's Pair Not Enough

  9. This writer looked around during the game, and saw a team from Vancouver playing like champions. On the other side of the fence, you had a group from New Jersey that looked totally lost. What you also saw if you were watching the game at home is that the arena was absolutely empty.

Nobody came to see the Mickey Mouse club get smacked around like a southern wife at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks, 10-1. Yes, this group of losers scored a goal, and it was most likely by accident, as Doug Gilmour blew on the puck and it somehow went in. Call it a pity goal, or call it a puck that is obviously under mind control. The rest, all Canucks. Only the Mickey Mouse team could give up 10 goals and consider that a good outing, but that's what coach Tom Delgado is calling it.

"For once, they didn't quit. They actually skated pretty hard all night. Too bad skating hard doesn't win you games. What were the schedule makers thinking when they booked us to play the Canucks, they're such a great team. I envy them. I look at them and see hard working, talented players. Then I look at us, and see Bob Essensa telling a bedtime story to Adam Graves. I also see Doug Gilmour pouring his heart out to a cardboard box. I may need to bring Dr. Phil in here."

  10. In a total one-sided blowout, the Calgary Flames showed that anyone with half a brain (no knock at anyone) could defeat the New Jersey Devils.

The media before the season declared that the Mickey Mouse days were here again in New Jersey. They were right, in a HUGE way. Calgary just outclassed the lifeless Devils all over the ice as they danced off with a 8-0 whipping. Theo Fleury made Bob Essensa look like a pee wee goalie with 5 goals. The Devils just seemed dis-interested in playing hard for new coach Tom Delgado.

"Calgary's an incredible team. So many stars. If this team played like it did tonight, it'll be the first of MANY beatings this season. I'm embarassed to be associated with these overpaid and overrated pieces of trash right now." Delgado said begrudgingly before leaving the Brendan Byrne Arena in disgust.
