  1. Next person to complain about someone elses play style gets kicked in the face. All goals can be defended agaisnt. A goal is a goal, so learn how to stop them. Don't complain if somebody uses a cross crease, as if you're covering the one timer and a deke looks unlikely, normally it's one of the only options. It's like complaining about one timers. It's basically the same deal: a guaranteed goal if the player is good enough. But people learn to defend agaisnt it, just like they can against a cross crease.

  2. I have to agree with EA on the trash goals, but only because of the game 4 winner. Seriously, I think my jaw touched the ground after that.

Other than that one goal, it was all around fantastic playing from EA.

HEY, WHAT DID I SAY WOULD HAPPEN IF I MANAGED TO STEAL ONE GAME?!

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!

  3. Great series, JR ended up being the turning point, clearly. Scoring 7 seconds into overtime shorthanded, then with 10 seconds left shorthanded in games 3 and 4, both game winning goals. It deflated the Flames and sent the Hawks to an easy game 5 victory.

    ggs.

  4. I can't even breathe right now, Hokkee's math is absolutely classic .

I agree with the deadline guys, don't get me wrong, but don't start bitching at D after a week has gone and the series aren't all done. If it takes 2 months, THEN you can complain. But a deadline will be set and it won't be a terribly long wait.

I propose set the deadline for this round to next friday. Then make all the others rounds a week or less. A week is good. Again, everybody's schedules aren't going to match up and you need to give them a bit of leeway in case something goes wrong. A week deadline doesn't mean it will last a week anyways.

  5. Jesus, guys, it's only been a week since playoff started. Cut D some slack, everyones schedule doesn't always match up perfectly.

EDIT: Oh cmon, the games have been available for logging for 5 damn days. Seriously, I can understand how you could get impatient if it was taking a ridiculously long time, but this isn't even a week. All of the series' will probably be wrapped up before the end of next week. That's not THAT bad.

  6. Yeah, Hokkee, you got me slightly backwards. I'm delaying it a bit, i'll admit. 8 weeks is a lot of practice, but i've barely played in the past 2. At any rate, it's my last week of school and theres a lot of s**t going on this week, and between that and soccer I could probably get the series done, but my point is I want to be playing these games when i've got the heavy stuff out of the way.

I really didn't think a week was that big a problem, but hey, if I see EA during the weekend or maybe earlier I guess i'll hit him up.

  7. Well, since tonight is apparently the deadline, if takeyourpill doesn't show up, then me and him take 7th and 8th seed and Smoz is out. This isn't exactly fair to smoz, so hopefully pill shows up. If he does, i'll be on all night smoz, and we'll play our game last.

It all depends on Pill. Without playing him you wouldn't be able to get enough points, so here's hoping he shows up.

  8. May 26th Update

    Standings by Points

    Standings by Points per Game

    RED - Eliminated from Playoffs

    GREEN - Secured playoff spot

    CYAN - Secured Playoff seed

(For those that are confused, green means you're in the playoffs, but not in a particular place like 1st or 2nd, and cyan means that you're in the playoffs AND you have secured the place you are in, ex. angryjay has secured the 1st seed in the East.)

EDIT: Oops, two mistakes. The coachs name seems to get cut off a bit, and Anaheim is supposed to be eliminated in both standings, my bad.

Things have narrowed down in the East, with Boston, Ottawa, Pittsburg and Washington all competing for the last playoff spot. Boston can secure a playoff spot by winning their last 2 games, while Ottawa could be out of the playoffs with a late-season losing streak, which is exactly what Pittsburg wants, as as soon as Ottawa wins one game the Pens will be excluded from the post-season. Washington needs to snap out of a losing slump and win 8 out of their last 9 games to even have a shot at making the playoffs, and they will need to cross their fingers that the Sens and Bruins don't do well.

In the West, it's gone from 5 teams competing for the final playoff spots to 3. Toronto, Dallas and Calgary all are fighting hard, but one of them will be spending the post season on the golf course. Calgary squandered their chance to secure a playoff position in a game against Washington which saw nothing go right. Dallas has to pull up some late season heroics to snatch the last playoff spot away, while Toronto only needs to win 50% of their final 8 games to secure a seed, 2 of which are agaisnt Dallas, which may very well decide the final standings.
