will there be another season with this rom? this is one of my favorites and i would like to join if so..

IIHF Rankings as of the completion of the Season 2 playoffs! Most people's rankings went down due to a lot of good new coaches joining for season 2 (i went from 10th to 21st!) Since there are only 2 seasons, I made this season worth 70% and last season worth 30% (usually it's 40/30/20/10 over 4 seasons). AJ enters the standings at #1. Freydey (+3 to 3rd), habs (+1 to 6th), and iceguy94 (+5 to 8th) are the only coaches to improve their rankings. vocallycaged and houlanov managed to hold steady at 12th and 16th, respectively. How it works: At the end of each season, you get points. The values of the top 10 positions: Rk Value Dif 1 1200 +40 2 …

Point totals adjusted with DNP deductions determined who qualified for the post season. Seeding was determined by points percentage, very similar to smozoma's Blitz system. More detail here with the bracket. This is the playoff page for boxscores, it's also under the 'Standings' link in the menu. Make sure you use the playoff rom for logging games. Good luck everyone.

hey, jerks. someone is waiting for you.

Another big series awaited the Edmonton Oilers, fresh from their grinding games with the New Jersey Devils as they took on the Chicago Blackhawks, the no.1 seed in the Campbell Conference. There's a lot of energy from the Hawks as they had ousted the Boston Bruins in a 4-game sweep and are one of the heavy favorites in the playoffs, although the Oilers aren't strangers to teams with that label. Will Mario Lemieux guide them to another upset special or Pavel Bure will strike them down like a supercharged asteroid? Game 1 Inside the storied Chicago Stadium there would be a wild game coming in this night. The Blackhawks decided that the heavy hitters Brian Glynn and Paul C…

Rather than using videos, I'm gonna have to use the summaries, so you're gonna have to use your imagination! The round 1 matchups end with the best series saved for last. The 3rd seeded New Jersey Devils try to knock out the 6th seeded Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers had some ups and downs this season, but fought for every earned win by the hand of Mario Lemieux. The Devils showed that they were a strong team in the regular season and are one of the candidates for the Stanley Cup. Game 1 The Devils needed a fast start for the game, and it came none the faster with a rapid one-timer by MacLean nailing it past Hextall with the help of Sundin and Zalapski. The Oilers respond…

In the two regular season games between these teams, Winnipeg came out on top, by scores of 9-8 OT and 5-4. The 9-8 games was one of the most absurd I've ever played in, scoring 7 goals on my first 7 shots.. before blowing the 7-4 lead in the 3rd period... Anyway, on to the playoffs series. Here's the video for game 1: Scoring Summary: http://www.nhl91.com/boxscore_new.asp?gameid=747 Summary: Both teams started off shaky, blowing breakaway chances. Roberts(TOR) made his presence known early, knocking Gartner(WPG) cup over bucket in the first minute, and then stealing a goalie pass (neither time coming up with a goal..). Gartner picks up a Goaltender Interfe…

every round is 1 week? how long are we going to wait around for these bums to get their games done? im seeing no effort from ajs series and houli has been MIA for a month

Mark Recchi delivered an incredible two-way performance in the first round of the 91 Cup Playoffs, topping Jaromir Jagr and sending the Penguins to the 2nd round. In game 1, Jagr quickly asserted himself, scoring the first 2 goals of the series and adding an assist on the 3rd Minnesota tally. Pittsburgh then stormed back with 4, the first scored by Vincent Damphousse, assisted by Recchi and Dino Ciccarelli. Recchi then scored a "natural" hat trick to put the Penguins up 4-3. Brian Leetch tied it early in the 3rd, but Ciccarelli would then score to make it 5-4 less than 40 seconds later. An incredible play by defenseman Steve Chaisson saved a sure tying goal with less than…

Boxart for my multicart.

All coaches must have 20 games played by Friday, 12:00 AM, June 18th. All 40 games on the ledger must be completed by Sunday July 18th. Failure to meet the aforementioned deadlines will result in possible forfeit losses or coaching replacements.

Added a quiz, All-Star video, and a new poll to the main page. I'll get cracking on the schedule this week so we can get this show on the row-ad.

Kgman is gainfully employed and no longer has time not to play NHL'91 games I spose, he concludes his illustrious NHL'91 career undefeated. Fortunately, veteran Headbangers Ball fan, Icestorm, will step in for the Islanders this season. Good luck, Ice.

Clockwise, this is truly my favorite edit of NHL 94 and the best ever probably. Couple of suggestions to fix for this edit. There are only 2 things that cause a problem with the game. 1) You should have the actual 1991 playoffs pairings. This was one of the best playoffs in NHL history. I have 91 Stanley Cup Video and used to watch it daily when I was a kid. Go on Wikipedia to get the actual matchups. Adams - Boston vs Hartford, Montreal vs Buffalo, Patrick - Pittsburgh vs New Jersey, Rangers vs Washington, Norris - Chicago vs Minnesota, St. Louis vs Detroit, Smythe - Los Angeles vs Vancouver, Calgary vs Edmonton. 2) Why when you try to change teams during the playoff mod…

Back With A Vengeance - Season 2 Draft (click for blog entry) Make sure you download the updated league rom with 2.1 suffix before playing or logging matches. Coaches will all face each other twice through a 40 game schedule. All coaches must have 20 games played by Tuesday, June 18th. All 40 games on the ledger must be completed by Sunday July 18th. Failure to meet the aforementioned deadlines will result in possible forfeit losses or coaching replacements. NOTE: You won't be able to see your teams schedule until a game is uploaded, since coaches play everyone twice this shouldn't be an issue. I'll pm login details to coaches in a few minutes. Good luck everyo…

Updated playoff rom with 99:59 OT. Make sure you use this one for logging games in the post season. [NHL91.com Season 2 Playoffs.bin]

Here's the mock up. Right now teams would play 1/2 of the games against division rivals, another 1/4 against inter-conference non divisional teams, and the last 1/4 against outer-conference opponents. Other way to go about it is the type of equidistant format where everyone clashes twice; permitting the schedule be 40 games. Open to any suggestions if you want to post your rendition of the conferences. I trust most have better judgment than myself seeing as I've never played some of the new coaches. If you are going to have a 20 gm season dont give us TWO MONTHS to complete.Everyone loses interest when there is too much time given for season.Last season alot of us hadn't played a gm in over a month and the 91 interest was dead.If its going to be 2 months give us 40 gms,if 20 games I would say 1 month. All these guys in lg can easily play 20 gms in a month (besides kgman)

The draft has been brutal the last few days, but i have an idea to hopefully wrap it up by the weekend. I can post a gdl style draft for the last 6+ rounds that will start at 7 AM EST tomorrow, ill put all the rounds up, with 30 minute windows for the first few rounds and then 15 minute windows for last few. If people are down to do this, then spread the word around so everyone knows whats going on.

this draft will go on for fricken weeks !

Draft Details Draft is the conventional 12 rounds. All teams must have 6 forwards, 4 defensemen, and 2 goalies by the final round of the draft. The draft will begin Tuesday April the 20th at 12 midnight EST. Each round will have a 24 hour window. If a round is completed early then the ensuing round will begin immediately. If you have obligations or will be unavailable to draft in a round then designate someone to select for you in advance, or leave a list with them to select from. Otherwise you will be skipped and you will be unable make a selection until the end of the round. Trades Coaches are allotted 8 trades, including draft picks. Any more beyond 8 will be vet…

This would add more depth to an already dense crop of talent, and increase the skill of teams league-wide. While the '91 and '94 rosters really aren't that different, it would make things more familiar for some coaches who are new to the league as well. Fedorov, Mogilny, Larionov, and other notable Russians are already members of NHL clubs in 1990-91, if anyone is wondering. Here's the list of players that would be included: * Denotes an active player from NHL'94 Max Mikhailovsky Sergei Drozdov Valeri Kamensky * Sergei Vostrikov Evgeny Davydov * Pavel Bure * Vyacheslav Bykov Oleg Petrov Andrei Kovalenko * Igor Chibirev Vyacheslav Butsayev * Denis Vinokurov Pavel Kostit…

Please put me on the waiting list for this season. I didn't realize it was a draft league else I would've signed up. But it looks like you have a pretty solid lineup of guys who play most of their games.
