  1. If you haven't heard, in TK's new abode there are quite a few 8 legged visitors creeping around. I saw a pic of one and I must say, even Little Miss Muffet would have pooped her panties if it popped down beside her. One of them bit him in his sleep about a week ago, ouch! I saw the pic that proves it too. The reaction made him gimp-ish for a few days. Anyhow, I think the venom is finally out of TK's system because he played solid last night. No hissy fits either (because's that's too Hokkee). So everyone can stop worrying, all is looking OK now in Daddy-Long-Legs-Land.............until the next itsy bitsy spider mistakes TK's rectal cavity for hiding spot.

  2. I've tried to identify a couple weaknesses of yours and we've talked about them. You also have strengths though, which have been pointed out. This is a helpful community. Maybe other people notice things I don't about your game. Can't hurt to ask, which is really what you're sort of doing here. I still think you're a bit burnt out and could use some time off. But the key to getting over losing in my opinion is to know WHY you are losing and what needs to be fixed. Not knowing is what drives people nuts and creates that hopeless feeling.

  3. 1) Only one goalie per team

There is no need to draft two goalies. I have never even used my backup goalie in a league game. The backup goalies always end up hijacking the goalie stats aswell.

    2) Trade cap with no extensions (Draft)

Three or Five trades is a good number. The trading IS fun, but it gets to the point where start trading for fun and not to improve their team.

    3) No trading goalies

Some coaches fail to realize that a goalie isn't worth anything. If we are allowed to trade them, someone will essentially get a free player that is worthy to be drafted in the first four rounds.

Example, in Blitz I was able to trade Ranford for Gilmour.

    4) Have a player ranking system that generates a trade evaluator

Have a formula that generates a player ranking based on points. If there is a trade where the gap between the total points of each team is too large, it is automatically vetod.

    1) I like having 2 goalies if things stay the way they are.

    2) I like all the other options Plab mentioned and I'm in favor of implementing them. Poor Skip must have made 20 roms this season due to all the trade extensions. We were bored in the time it took to get things going but it did get a bit out of control.

    3) I'm also doing a big flip flop and I'm now 100% in favor of static player ratings. Less luck involved, so the guys you draft will be their regular selves each and every game. No more having your star players feel like they're on steroids one game and on their period the next. Areas like shot power, accuracy, passing, stick-handling and agility seem to be most effected. Dropping from a 4 rating to a 3 rating (when cold) in those categories or going from a 4 to a 5 (when hot) is a much larger factor on the ice then people realize IMO. And if static ratings are implemented I'd be fine with having only 1 goalie.

  4. The ratings are inaccurate, too, unless the fix has been applied to the ROM :D

B-check deeeffinitely doesn't work well with penalties off.

    Ratings are accurate in GDL.

How much less effective is it? Is there a way to find out?

Yeah I'll take every point I can get in net Raph. Their ratings fluctuate by game, where one may be 45 rated and the other 54, so of course I'm going to check every game.

  5. Thought this day would never come but it's official..... the man, the myth, the legend has returned after a 2 year absence. Please give him a warm welcome home hug.

Level-wise he has a way to go before he

reaches his old form, but he was better than expected in his first day back. Will definitely make some serious waves in classic so lookout! Goalie control is very solid and he's still (after all this time) deadly in close.

I'm not hiding my bromance any longer. TK was my main sparring partner when I first joined. Then he moved to some obscure place and my heart was broken. So excited to have him in the mix again. Like Plabax, TK was another wonder child who joined the scene and dominated almost immediately. As a ROOKIE he shocked the 94 world by winning a GDL cup and slayed the dragon in the process.

Roll out the red carpet, the prodigy has arrived. It's about time!!!!

  6. I was just about to give my side of it then saw Brutus spoke on my behalf. Bunch of ballbusters on this site. Yes, I have serious attention issues after a period of time. Not only that, I have trouble sitting for long periods of time, typical ADD (without the hyperactivity). I can focus intensely for short bursts. But like Brutus said, I do let it be known from the start that oftentimes 4 games is my max. Sometimes I'll have eaten a good meal a couple hours before and it kicks in like a second wind, and then I'm OK to play 7 in a row but that's not the norm. And regardless of the series (who has the lead, who trails) I go by how I'm feeling (after the 4th game) not how I'm playing or the other person is playing. I want to be at my best in terms of mental focus and when it drops off, it drops off considerably. Each playoff game vs me takes 15 minutes because I OCCASIONALLY change my lineup, so about 4 games per hour. Personally, I don't want to beat someone who is physically or mentally drained and I don't want to have either of those excuses if I lose. There were 2 series that I played in where I knew I HAD to play all 7 games at once because the other person was extremely hard to setup a time with (for timezone or other reasons).

I don't care if my series goes over the course of 2 days or 7 days, 2 games at a time, or split in any other manner but 7 at once is very difficult for me usually and is the only setup I'm opposed to.

Anyhow, this has taken me a while to write, now I need a movement break, hehe.
