  1. I was talking about your opinions such as running a league through email. That seems like it would put more work on the players, and would cause the league to progress slower. That might also cause players to drop out of the league. Also, your reluctance to use AIM makes it difficult for other users to contact you, as not everyone contacts each other thorugh PM's.

No I just got aim to work

  2. You can only choose one console and as a new player you will be put in B or C division, depending on how we set it up.

As recommended, use AIM and actually play some folks. I can assure you that you will be humbled.

You're new and young, so please take some time to read through the forums for a better understanding of how things work before posting. I appreciate your enthusiasm and want to encourage it, but you'll have to do some work on your end as well.

    I play against Plabax sometimes.
  3. PLOT TWIST= Goursie and Seano are the same person

But yeah as entertaining as your guys misguided opinions are to read, its getting annoying to see them on EVERY.SINGLE.THREAD.

Misguided you say, I have opinions that are actually not misguided. 1. I like NHL 94. 2. I think hockey is awesome. 3. I am interested in learning unlike some kids at my school who go around dropping f bombs and talking about innapropiate stuff instead if doing homework
  4. My son is busy making sure his XBOX live avatar looks somehow like a penis w/out getting banned, and you d&ckheads are trying to organize a game older than you to play in a league w/ old people?

Do you try to play your games while Dora the Explorer is paused, during commercials or do you go bold & let it run in the background while you play?

Seriously, Toon town has a forum just for kids like you.

Yeah, I feel extremely happy I picked on a 11 yr old.

I feel even happier he posts on every forum & I get to read about this helpless 11 yr old minecrafting little child's thoughts.

Maybe, you could start doing 3 posts in every forum to make it more interesting, like responding to yourself. Have a me, myself & I type thread on every thread. That would really make Uncle Brutus the happiest.

I hadn't realized we had two of you now.

    ARGH

Sir, I've got no problem with how you play or how often, but you & your compadre keeping posting all over the place like its a sticker book & you feel compelled to place your little flowers on all the pages.

But it's not my site. As far as I can tell, you are allowed to be annoying all over the place & apparently, I'm allowed to complain about it.

I hope you have had fun. They have banned players with skill but bad attitudes before, so I would keep shut
  5. Goalie Rankings

The third of a series of quick reference pages where I recap the team ratings at every position, their ranking, and a quick blurb about the team.1. Montreal (10/10) – The perfect glove ratings and superior rebound control make Roy the top stopper.2. Chicago (9.5/10) – Belfour is highest rated goalie in league and does not disappoint. 3. Buffalo (8.5/10) – A full step behind the top two, Fuhr can dominate at times.4. Toronto (8/10) – Despite an average defense in front of him, Potvin is still a top option. 5 (Tie). Boston (7.5/10) – Moog is a great manual goalie and he seems to get in front of the puck more often than one would think.5 (Tie). Edmonton (7.5/10) – Another lower rated beauty, Ranford’s spectacular save ratings set him apart.7 (Tie). Pittsburgh (7/10) – Big and burley, Barrasso is typically very steady. 7 (Tie). Winnipeg (7/10) – Another fantastic manual goalie, Essensa is light weight and very nimble.7 (Tie). Philadelphia (7/10) – Soderstrom gives the lackluster Philly D a chance with his acrobatics in the crease. 7 (Tie). Dallas (7/10) – Casey’s save ratings leave something to be desired, his excellent mobility typically fulfills said desire.11 (Tie). Detroit (6.5/10) – Not the all world goalie Detroit needs, but a serviceable #1 none the less.11 (Tie). Hartford (6.5/10) – He’s a big boy, but if he gets in front of the puck, his save ratings will limit the softies he allows.13 (Tie). New Jersey (6/10) – Super lightweight gets from post to post in a flash, is a major sucker for the ram tactic though.13 (Tie). Quebec (6/10) – Hextall is a run of the mill mobile middle weight, what you see is what you get.13 (Tie). Vancouver (6/10) – A little on the hefty side with 8 weight, McLean’s save ratings don’t stack up to the other super sized goalies.16 (Tie). Florida (5.5/10) – Beezer gives this expansion team a ray of hope, but he’s no brick wall.16 (Tie). New York Rangers (5.5/10) – Richter and Beezer provide a mediocre tandem behind a heavyweight team, not an ideal situation.18. St. Louis (5/10) – Lovely overall rating, save ratings pale in comparison to his peers though and his performance is also severely lacking in stat tracking leagues.19. Calgary (4/10) – Another under achiever, Vernon doesn’t have the mobility or save ratings to be a worthwhile goalie on a free wheeling Calgary team.20. Washington (3.5/10) – Beaupre only further compounds the defensive issues that Washington faces with his herky jerky style and inconsistency.21. Los Angeles (3/10) – Hrudey has a tendency to find himself on the highlight reel quite often, the other teams highlight reel.22 (Tie). San Jose (2.5/10) – Some people have a soft spot for Irbe. He has a soft spot too, a penchant for giving up goals.22 (Tie). Tampa Bay (2.5/10) – Propped up by vicious Tampa defense, Young shouldn’t be relied upon to bail them out when they do falter.24. New York Islanders (1.5/10) – Healy is all for building the confidence of the opposing shooters. Swell guy, shitty goalie.25. Anaheim (1/10) – Plenty of ruh-roh moments to be had with Hebert in net.26 Ottawa (0/10) – An empty net would get the same rating.I think the science worked here. Moog, Casey, and Ranford are lower rated then many goalies behind them, but people do speak highly of them and reach for them in drafts. Meanwhile guys like Vernon and Joseph are fools gold and I think the ratings appropriately reflect that.
Ottawa has an amazing manual goalie, berthiume

THANK U SO MUCH FOR EXTENDING IT (The time too play)! I have hockey camp next week so am going to be playing like crazy at night.

  7. Unfortunately, you're the only member that wants to play online without using AIM.

The community uses AIM as THE MAIN METHOD of getting in touch to play games.

You can continue to email and pm, but you won't get much of a response.

It will be near impossible play league games, let alone run a league if you are not willing to get AIM working.

Get AIM going so you aren't out of the loop for Shark Week.

Will do. I hope to get it to work. I guess my ipad might be better

  8. 1. Andy Moog (59). John Blue is the backup so he has like a 40 right? No. He has a 63 rating and is an a lot better choice than Moog.

    2. Peter Sidorcwicz (38). You'd that Berthiume would be like a 10 if Sidorcwicz is 38? Nope. Berthiume is a 41 and can shutout a lot teams.

I haven't found any other hidden gems but check back later!

Oh don't worry. The only 3 sites I have been this summer is this site, nhl94online.com, and minecraftdl.com

  10. You know you're talking to a little kid, right? Try to be a little less condescending next time.

Well if AIM isn't "an 11 year old thing" how is posting on a forum any different? All I'm saying is that if you want to get good at this game you need to play other people online, and AIM is the platform for doing so.

AIM just is not my style. Email yes, pm yes, aim no.

it wasn't meant to be condescending, just a reality check. I think worse is that somebody told him when he asked this in another thread that he'd qualify for SNES A. at least I was being serious. tone is hard to infer online, so I recommend initially reading posts without assuming an implied tone. 6-0 is not a thing. that's just a fact.

I don't really care about that post. I just love 94 so hope to eventually play the best.

Actually h NHL 94 has dominated my summer other than the 3 week camp with computers and sports I went to. Yes sometimes I play with NHL 94 with NHL Network in the background, but no dora. I hope you are happy you picked on a helpless 11 year old.

  12. Enthusiasm is great. I seem to remember being pretty naive about how to go about things too when I ran the 2011 league after only 1 classic season.

Seriously, you need to realise that Blitz is basically THE league that everyone loves in this community. The last thing we need is a noob with no experience of running a league setting stuff up that doesn't work, or worse still starting something that's too big for them, not finishing it or possibly even ruining something that's so loved around here.

Blitz needs a safe pair of hands: Someone who's been around a while, understands exactly how Blitz works and also has the proven complex technical skills to make a league that is totally stat-heavy, run smoothly & enjoyably.

I don't want to dull your enthusiasm. This community will continue to thrive for another 20 years exactly because guys like you get involved, but, like Kingraph said, play a season of classic. See if you like it, see how everything works. Have a play with a small stat-based league you could run as the fall-classic warm-up perhaps that lasts like 2 or 4 weeks with like 8 teams in it. Build your experience, as a player and as a league organiser.

You seem to be running on pure enthusiasm and a crate of mountain dew right now! lol

Also it will run for 20 years because we have a crew of young guys (Goursie19 says he is 13, PlabaxV2 is 15, and I just turned 11)

No, just 11 year old spirit.

I just love organizing things. I will start the warm-up league!

  14. I am no smozoma, but hope to bring a fun few seasons to you.

Blitz (Ztilb pronounced Zit-ill-B) is back and better than ever. With a A, B, and C league, in which the C league will not draft, but be assigned one of the other drafted teams. Here is the specifications for the league.

    Game Rules

    • 5 Minute Periods
    • Manual Goalie
    • Line Changes
    • Penalties, no Offsides

    League Format

    • 2 Divisions (Per Tier) with a max of drafted 7 teams in each (Because C just uses another persons team).
    • 20 Game Season, over the course of 4 weeks.
    • May not start until mid-classic season due to lack of members.

    Draft Format

    • Same as old blitz, but at end you must have 2 Goalies, 6 D, and 9 Forwards.

    Help Wanted

    • Assistant Commish (Incase school keeps me off the forum for a while)

I hope you register, and have a great summer :)

  15. I'd recommend playing SNES B first unless you've been playing a bunch of exhibitions with A guys already. I could beat the CPU All-Stars 20-0 with Ottawa but that didn't translate to success when I started playing online, in fact, I got my butt kicked by 10 goals or more at first.

You should add all the guys from the SNES online list and start playing exhibitions with them, that way you can get a feel for what league you should be playing in depending upon how well you do. You can start by adding me, I'm Northway Native on AIM, I'll put you through the paces.

Don't do aim much. Not an 11 year old thing. Have one but it won't work. I just PM people. I can hook up with you for SNES or GENS.
