    I have a harder time in winter due to hockey games every weekend day.

    I think you'll find getting games in much easier than it seems. 4 games can get knocked out in under an hour, if you're able to be online a couple hours per week you'll have no problem getting games in.

    Keep an eye out for registration in mid-August to early September like Bo said.

    In the meantime, try connecting with a few guys on AIM to get your connection confirmed and than see about getting on waitlists for certain leagues.

    Bump - today's the last day before the 14 GP deadline. I'll be around to help any coaches behind that need the games to catch up.

    All in all things are going VERY WELL for having started GDL in the middle of July.

    Only 3 Coaches have 0 GP (two of which are on vacation). Also, only a handful or so that are behind last weeks 7 GP. 14 Coaches (over half the league) is right on par with checkpoints.

    With a dozen dudes committed to the first ever NHL94.com Shark Week, I figured I would share this valuable thread from AngryJay's Building Line's section on the San Jose Sharks:

    2013 Shark Week will include Doug "Great White" Wilson, Tom "Hammerhead" Pederson, Pat "Basking Shark" Falloon", and Arturs "Goblin Shark" Irbe.

    Stay tuned, open sign-up until Sat Aug 3rd.

    Feel free to sign-up even if you don't think you can play much, no GP min required (although it may be required for placement final brackets).

    Why aren't people signing up?

    It is mid-summer with GDL & Dynasty leagues currently taking place with Classic right around the corner. Just my thought, the hardest time of year to start up a new league can be in the middle of July as its one of the least active times of the year on this forum. Also, past track records of new coaches being able to handle the bolts and nuts of running a smooth nhl94 league is slim as we are a spoiled bunch with saved states to upload game stats in real time the second a game as been played on the enterwebs. There was a NHL13 draft league as well that I don't believe ever finished that had a rom with custom cities & logos. I just don't think right now is the best time to ask guys to commit to a full on draft league.

    It is an honor to announce the first annual NHL 94.cum Gens SHARK WEEK 2013 (SUN AUG 4th- SUN AUG 11th)!

    A week long tournament in which only one coach will be crowned as the King of Shark Week (maybe two if theres enough sign-ups for A & B championship brackets). This tournament will only be a week long, so get your games in quick and be prepared to have a few series during the weekend.


    -Every game is played as the San Jose Sharks vs the San Jose Sharks


    -5 Minute Periods, Penalties: On - No offsides, Line Changes:Off


    -Friday August 2nd - Sunday August 11th

    -Tournament will follow an NHL 16-team play-off format with Best of 7 Series


    -All Gens players new and experienced welcome.

  14. ANYONE LIKE MUTANT LEAGUE HOCKEY?

    the gameplay on mutant league hockey was pretty effin bad, but well intended.

    Mutant League Football is a video game that was released in 1993 for the Sega Genesis. The game was designed using the Madden '93 engine, and features a different take on football, where the games resemble a war as much as a sporting competition.

    Mutant League Football was much superior in terms of game play. Imagine how awesome Mutant League Hockey would have been if designed straight off the nhl94 or nhlpa93 engine? Awesome.

  19. how to download the GENS ROM?

    Ok so I don't need an emulator to DL the GENS file? All I know is when I click the GENS file it asks me to either open it or save it....and I'm not getting anywhere with that since I don't have a program available to open it with. Once I get it DLed I can get moving but right now I'm clueless.

    When you click the gens file you want to save it, save the file anywhere for your convenience. After the files download and save, unzip the folder, and open the gens.exe application.

    let's see... a decent Genesis emulator is called Fusion. the "old" info is still probably relevant. there's a topic called "getting started." you'll have it all figured out soon. oh, and the Genesis players mostly use the ancient America Online chat application to contact each other, so you may want an account on that thing, assuming they still allow new accounts. outdated technology is the norm around here, so I don't suggest you try to focus on anything too new.

    all onlag players use AIM. Fusion is a genesis emulator, but we use Gens for online play. Of course which type of emulator you have won't matter unless you're looking to play online.

    As posted by Kingraph in the GDLX Start thread, first deadline is coming up this Sunday, July 14. Try to get 7 GP if possible to help keep the league at a healthy pace.

    Try using the GDLX AIM Chatroom and forum to set up games, if you cannot get 7GP by the deadline please post here to avoid consideration for replacement.

    Edit: Also, it is possible to send opponents private messages through the GDL page if you are looking for another way to contact coaches for games.

    • Jul 14 - 7 GP First Deadline
    • Jul 21 - 14 GP
    • Jul 28 - 21 GP
    • Aug 4 - 28 GP
    • Aug 11 - 35 GP
    • Aug 18 - 42 GP
    • Aug 25 - 49 GP
    • Sep 1 - 56 GP (season over)
