  1. I'm thinking about the Series Leaderboard.

I played a series with JJ, and played around with rosters. The final Series Leaderboard lists players by total points, which is cool. Just think it would add if it showed how many games each player played in, and maybe showed their Poimts/game numbers too.

Done! We've added GP, TOI and AVG PPG.

  2. Now sticking to our current technology one of the biggest hurdles is setting up a match. With modern consoles this is mostly taken care of by the game, you find the game you play and your matched with somebody online. This is almost impossible with 94. In that sense we definitely need a much stronger chat communication system, one where players can post that they are free and available for games. Maybe they would have the capability to simply have their IP up and anybody can join the game for an exhibition.

A newer version of Kaillera has a lobby where you can wait for games.

Q: How do I find opponents? Does it have a lobby?

A: That part is mainly left to the user. However, due to popular demands, a vary limited "waiting games list" has been added and is accessable from "Connect" tab in P2P mode of the client. To enlist games in that waiting games list, the "S: Public" checkbox must be enabled aftrer hosting.

I accidentally used this version of Kaillera one day and noticed it, but didn't invest any time into trying to use it.

Could be a worth a look.

  3. Is it just me or is AIM sucking particularly badly lately?

Both the Android app and web interface are not showing new messages and/or are out of sync for me nearly every time I log on.

Maybe we should officially move everything to Dischord?

  4. Atomic and I played last night, after we had trouble with Gens.

It was awesome! Best part was no drops or desyncs!

Overall, though things slowed down at times, in situation where Gens probably would have dropped, it was much more playable. Out-of-the-box it is slower, and more like the real thing!

Also, I did find out how to go fullscreen! Which sure beats how it looks on Gens.

    Revised Pros and Cons:

    PROS

    1. No crashes at all!

    2. The lags still happen, but they feel different... play just short of slows down, no missing frames and sudden spikes...

    3. Full screen is excellent (on my 1080p TV screen which I play on in my living room)

    4. Looks more like a TV screen (sort of blurry, but I like it)

    5. Game speed is slower, like real Genesis (I moved this from Cons)

    CONS

    1. The feeling is slow and disconnected, like "playing underwater", but only when you play someone far away **

** So only one con, which isn't a con when playing someone close.

Bottom line, I wish everyone used this instead of Gens. It just seems like more polished software.

    My two cents

    • Game Play is slower than GENS. Speed felt identical to playing on Sega Genesis. Not sure if this is a pro or con. When I first started playing the online leagues, the speed increase was barely noticable. Going back to the actual Gens speed, things seem much slower than I remember.
    • The software is much more polished as Aqua mentions. It seems to be very efficient CPU and memory wise.
    • There were no drops - this was really great. It seems to deal with packet / frame loss really well...things just get slower, but you can still move your player and see whats happening, unlike Gens where things seem to suddenly skip ahead or just drop.
  5. Just made a few updates to the Series Stats page.

    • Corrected the Total per series Penalty Minutes
    • Added Series Shots on Goal total
    • Added OT Identifier to each game
    • Winner Now bolded for each game
    • Changed Pearate back to PeeRat as per smozoma

  6. Hey guys,

Aqua and I have been working on a tool to record Exis, specifically in best of 7 format. You can go here to check it out:

    http://nhl94rocks.com/

This is currently in Alpha as there are quite a few things that need to be changed for overall use(namely the ability to upload just one game), but since this tournament is best of 7 I thought it would come in handy to record each round.

I've already tested with the Kega Fusion games saves and it works.
