Not that I care too much, but I thought the 24 hour rule that was firmly in place was pretty much the definitive authority. Although it now seems that most traces of the rule have been removed from the draft posts, I thought it had been made pretty clear that 24 hours passed meant coach skipped. With such a very straight forward rule I didn't think any warning would be necessary, least of all for one of the commissioners who should really be quite capable of warning himself of his upcoming pick. I just think that if league rules are there they should be followed or perhaps spelled out more clearly in the future.

So...is this thing still happening?? I'm pretty sure we could have finished most of the draft by now had we just continued on normally last week.

One other question: when someone requests best available player, how will you decide between two or more players with the same overall rating? This was the benefit of the old draft system, that we were able to decide between two players with the same overall rating who nevertheless differed in individual attributes. I may want the faster of the two players or the one with the best passing, but you might just decide to give me the player who happens to have better defensive awareness or the best checking...i don't like it.

I agree with principalities. So is the draft order going to proceed from where round 8 left off, with all those skipped coaches choosing at the end?

Fenty should have been skipped and there could have been several picks made during all of this. I think we should stick to the 24 hour rule in place, maybe bring in a more rigorous schedule of picks, but regardless, I think we should stick to the draft format. It's what we all signed on for isn't it? If we are talking about this league being a multi-year commitment then the fact the the draft has taken two weeks instead of one shouldn't really matter. I think we should preserve the draft and be patient for the fun games to come.
