The idea of letting everyone be whoever they want is bad, then everyone is going to pick good teams all the time. If you want to make it fair, make the teams random for every game. That way it will mostly be player ability, but there will also be the chance for upsets, and the underdog to take the title.
huh? why would you want everybody to play with s**t teams or a good team vs a s**t team? i dont see a problem in having only good teams it means its fair. random teams is a pretty bad idea. I dont see how having the best teams play each other would mean it ISNT based on player ability... hopefully we'll work something out for the season after this upcomming one.

I know this is unlikely, but Id take one of the crappy ones for a second team.why, why, why would we want the s**t teams in the league just to even the divisions or something?
Since all the good teams are taken, you should consider moving the leauge starting date up a week. Chances are no one is going to want whats left. make registration end this sunday, and start games asap.i agree with this, no point in filling these s**t teams.. im speaking of the gens conference.. dont really care about the snes conf

ya I like the idea of the player draft too but the fact is it will be very hard to get everybody on at the same time but since it is only about 11 rounds it isnt impossible but if we have all 26 teams i think it may be.. i also like ticks idea to just pick whatever team you want and i agree just outlaw chicago
i dont want to see these teams in the league..[down] as stated before these teams will get demolished most of the time unless the player is real good.. but people usually quit if they are getting killed.. i have alot of respect for pittsburgh from last season he had a tough time but played through all his games

and presetting the rom with everybodies own lines is a good idea..that shouldnt be much work its only 1line. everybody could just their line

detroit is a scary team though yzerman is very dominant and if coffee and federov are going that team is very difficult to stop.
in terms of full lines [depth] mtl is probably the deepest best 3rd line i think, but with one line there are quite a few teams i can think of that are very skilled... teams like winnipeg/quebec even washington are some of the best one line teams besides the big ones like chi, van, cgy, buf and LA.

i think chi,mtl,van,bos,cgy,la,nyr,phi,wini,que,det and buf are all very good teams
whats unfair is bure shooting from the blueline at anytime and scoring everytime

I was hoping the new rom which I am assuming is the exact same as the fall rom would have a 10min+ Overtime period.. I do not understand why it was changed to 5mins ..why would we want a tie.. although I've never tied I just dont see the reasoning behind this.
also in the http://65.36.133.56/nhl94/default.aspx league all 30 teams were filled but only about 10 were truely active teams. although that was mainly due to the lack of parity I hope it doesnt occur in this league.
does ottawa have any chance? limiting the league to 20 teams may be a good idea unless somebody really wants to play as ottawa
as for the regular season how many games will there be? I wouldnt mind 50-60 range but that may be too high for some, also a slightly weighted schedule for divisional opponents would be good.

a thriller as the blues come out to a 3-0 lead after the first period.. the habs score 5 straight goals in a 1:30 span and take a 5-3 lead.. the teams exchange goals...blues score with about a minute left in the 3rd but cannot complete the comeback as the habs clinch the series and win the stanley cup.

too much fun with this game...beating down your oppenent after he scores its just hillarious.. This game is awesome and it would be truely great if it had manual goaltending. the scores usually end up being football scores

Nah i like the use of offsides even if the computer is a moron... as for the line changes turning them off sometimes creates a very intense game as the starters are always on meaning the best players are always playing for each team which also means the speed and the hitting is great. But im willing to play with any rules.

There used to be this really cool rom from that site, a couple of years ago. It had some great alternate logo's (like Washington's other logo besides the bird, and NY Rangers alternate liberty logo). Also it had some great colors for the star around the players. When SWOS's version came out, it was pretty much all but forgotten BUT I really liked that one too (it was different), and it seemed to disappear.
Does the guy who runs that site stop by here? If so, I'd like to get my hands on that rom. He doesnt have it in his downloads section anymore. I think they also made a Sega CD version out of that rom.
If the guy who has that rom sees this please respond. Thanks.

yes playing the computer sucks its way too easy... the multiplayer games is what makes it truely great.
by the way on your side of the sea there are quite a few finnish 94 online leagues..
