  1. Why can't people just figure out how to use zbattle? It's not that I'm against Hamashi, I've used it a lot (with other games, faking LAN play over internet), but if you use it with zsnes you would still need to enter IP number, right? Yeah yeah, it doesn't take that long to enter an IP number, it's just that I still think zbattle is way easier

  2. Auto line changes cause no fatigue. I believe the use of Auto line changes is solely to rotate the names of the players who appear on the ice.

Correct. So Auto will only put more variation into the game, especially since all players have 100 stats. There's really no downside to it, imo. Well maybe if you get annoyed with a right/left handed player messing up the play on one line, but then you should have thought about that before when we had the ability to chose rosters and lines :P

  3. "Our" generation will probably never get too old to play games. I mean, it's just getting more and more common that people over 40 years play games. I listen to PC Gamer Podcast every week and they discuss this from time to time. I don't think there's much to say about it. People born around 70-80's grew up with games and it's just a part of our lives sort of. Haha.. Of course some grow out of it, some just run out off time for games. But I doubt I'll ever drop gaming.

    Cheers

  4. HatTrick94: just a tip.. save as jpg or png (instead of bmp) and upload them to imageshack.us or something so people can view the image without having to download it.

    -Snes alert!- :)

Well I haven't got a fast hattrick captured.. But the three quickest goals I've seen the AI score (AI vs AI) are these:

Bam bam bam, three goals in 28 seconds!

And I got rather nice Power Play stats the other day:

Two PP's, two PP shots, two PP goals, all in 9 seconds

  5. I suck in 2nd period.. Doesn't matter if it's up or down, second period is always the worst. I remember that when me and a friend played a lot and logged the games, the majority of games won, were won away. That was for the first hundred logged games or so, after that it sort of evened out and went the other way. I recall hating going downwards as a kid, it was a lot harder to score. Now I don't think it's much different really. Maybe a third poll option: "none" :)

  6. Heh, yeah well, since you could just walk across the goal line to get a goal against Cameroon it was quite easy to score loads of goals on 'em ;) But I have no idea what my record was :) Awesome game however, absolutely one of my favorites! Playing on ice with a couple of friends was just hilarious! Haha... Sliding around like crazy.

  7. Halifax: To record a movie, easiest way is doing it straight out of Zsnes. You need Zsnes 1.51 to output it as an .avi file, but you can record movies with 1.43 (the netplay version) and probably any other version. But 1.51 is the only one (1.50 also) that can dump the recordings to .avi. In the earlier versions it seems to take a lot of work (a guide from april 2005).

First you need to download mencoder (can be downloaded in this post)! Put it in the same folder as zsnes.exe!

When you're going to record go to "Misc" in the Zsnes menu, select "Movie opt" hit "Record" and then just play the game, and when you're done, go back to movie options and "Stop" the recording. Go to the "Dump" tab in movie options:

I've never gotten it working to dump video and audio merged together. So you need to dump 'em one at a time and merge them in a video editing software. I use video option "Xvid Lossless" and leave "Dump Audio" unchecked (if I want audio I just go ahead and check it after I've dumped video and check "No Video").

You can record on 1.43 and open the recording in 1.51 to dump the recording.
