Is there a seeding system based on world rankings?
How will you adjust this as more people sign up. And do you plan on swerving me at the last minute and putting all the best players in my group?
I would love it if Mikail showed up as a late addition.
You hear his theme music start playing, and then some fireworks, and then boom! His hype man is in your face yelling 'Sauga represent!

Found these online the other day. 8-bit looking jerseys for NHL teams. Unofficial NHL merch. Cool concept.

I even got my mother-in-law to listen to this podcast. I think she has a crush on Mikey now.

Looking good.

I like it a lot. Love the logos, including the conferences, and the sprites.
My one piece of constructive criticism would be - the NHL and NHLPA logos are vertically stretched, and maybe the NHL '94 logo too.
I might have to use this for my work desktop.

I've got:
- Sega Genesis: 2
- SNES: 1 (plus a buddy said I could borrow his, so I have 2 available)
- RetroTRIO: 1 (plays Genesis, SNES, and NES games)
- NHL 94 Genesis: 4
- NHL 94 SNES: 2
- CRT TVs: just 1, a bit on the large side
Blurry Pixel is where I was thinking. Level One looks nice, too (they also have a copy of SNES 94). House of Targ didn't really seem set up for it? Wherever it is I'm hoping they can supply 2 of each of the consoles to round it out to 4 each, with the RetroTRIO as a backup.
I'm thinking October or November? Just some time before it gets all snowy.
Have to make sure they would let us stream (I know Blurry Pixel would)
There would be guaranteed 'rookie' prizes so we online players don't rip them off.
This sounds awesome! I haven't been to Blurry Pixel or Level One, but I know Level One looks really nice. Might be more pricey and challenging to set up for a tournament however. I figure House of Targ would not be the best for a console tournament, but moreso a great place to hang out if any other NHL 94 buds come to town.
I like the idea of a tourney here, but not sure how much I can help out for the next couple months, but I will do what I can if you're going ahead with something!

SNES acquired for practice (and use in eventual Ottawa tourney).
Go on...
(let's do this sometime!! A few good potential venues like Level One Game Pub, The Blurry Pixel, and House of Targ).

I did the cross country road trip once...albeit 15 years ago before wife and kids. Maybe I'll just plate a winnebago and then travel around N.A challenging buds to a series of 94.
Like a modern day Terry Fox!

I played NHL 98 to NHL 2006 on PC.
My favourite was 2003 (with Iginla on the front). That game was so much fun. I used to do fantasy drafts all the time. I loved the player icons (target icon for shot accuracy, hammer icon for big hitter, stick for hard shot). I think you could redirect shots and bat in rebounds out of the air.
Good times.

I'm in! The original King of 94 was awesome so won't miss part II. Thanks for all the effort Halifax and Mikey!
I'll have at least 3 or 4 other guys signing up for the snes division. None of whom attended King of 94 I. All of us making the trip down from Toronto.
Wow good job bud! Have fun!

No NHL 94, but the list of games is pretty awesome nonetheless:

Great interview Mikey. Wish you hadn't brought up the Ottawa attendance thing, but you redeemed yourself talking about the Sens visit up north!

Halifax wins it!

Mikey, thanks for the update bud! Sounds like things are progressing well. Exciting! I'm especially interested to see the cut scenes, animations, and especially the 3d style dioramas.
Were you able to get any help with the NHL 2003? I used to play it all the time on PC, but I don't have it readily available anymore so I don't think I can help you out.
-
I can't make it because I have a baby on the way in September.
(I think I've already mentioned this a few times, but I guess I'm still trying to come to grips with it, myself.)
It sucks because if it were any other time, I would absolutely make the trip for this event.

Congrats Annatar on your 3rd Dynasty title in 4 years. Lindros and Stevens are tough motherf#*&ers!
Oh, and you're a pretty good player too.

I just had a morbid thought. We're all getting old and soon we will all be dead and no one will be playing NHL 94.

Congrats Tim P on the series win.
I have my own reasons for my lackluster performance, but I will make no excuse!
I think I have a much better roster, yet you still took me to town. Go grab another title bud.
-
Tim and I tried to get our games in earlier this month, but it didn't quite work out, and I've just been out of the country for the past two weeks. I'm back Thursday, and Tim is aware so we should be able to get our series in soon.

It seems to be working this morning!

I don't know bud. Dangler is gonna be rusty, plus your NAME is Halifax!
