I tried following the instructions in the doc for that program, but it just errors saying "PATH NOT FOUND" when I try to import a game. :\ The offsets would be really helpful, I could just write my own!
What about this here: http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?showtopic...rt=0#entry13052
is that what you're looking for? Check out all of Xstioph's reply's in that thread. He lists a whole bunch of offsets. Everything you need I'm pretty sure.

My extraction tool is starting to work really well. Already outputting 56 for Excel use, that outputs a total of 83 stats, including calculating w/l/t/otw/otl etc. It's just a matter of pasting a string in Excel that my proggie produces
Not very advanced compared to what malachku has done, I know, but I didn't imagine I would get this far!
I'm trying to automatically output both team names used (it's pretty much done, it's only a matter of time).. Next step would be to log individual player stats. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with database use so I would have to take detours...
Are you still working on this extraction tool? How's it working? Could I test it out? This would be unbelievable for SNES leagues!
-
Guys, is there a way to make the same stat extractor or uploading system that exists for the Sega version of the game for SNES saved game states? I'd be interested in including such a system for leagues down the road, as well as for personal use.

Does anyone have any interest in trying to create one of these? How difficult would it be? SNES needs one for sure! I'd be willing to do some dirty work if someone would help me get started and pushed in the right direction.

Back about 15 years ago, I organized the biggest nhl94 tournament I've ever had. There were 20 players in total, all friends of mine from high school. Players were divided into 4 divisions and played a single game round robin of 5 minute periods. The top two from each division played in the 'A' playoffs and the others were seeded for the 'B' playoffs. All playoff games were 10 minute periods.
We played from early morning to late night just to get all the games in…since it was all played on one system.
Ahh those were the days.
I found some pics of the playoff brackets. (one of the pics was smacked together with shoddy photoshop work…apologies for that.)
HAHA this reminds me of my days in my apartment in Halifax. Me and my roommates used to have best of seven series and mark on the wall every time someone won a series. We must've had a hundred seven game series on that sheet by the end of the school year! I wish I had taken a picture of it.

You know where to find me
Yah I msged you last night but you weren't around at the time. I found PondHcky though and played a few games against him. Connection was great using hamachi and there were some tight games! Good to get back into it. Maybe I'll try to hit ya up tonight if you're around.
-
I'd like to dabble into the online NHL94 scene again. Got a new computer finally. I installed the emulator, classic rom and hamachi again but have no idea what hamachi network everyone's using. Anyone wanna play me in some text games to check my connection and help me try to shake off some serious rust? My AIM is xgrad06, looking for some fellow SNES guys to dangle with.
-
Registration for this league will begin on March 29th. Details on how to register will be posted on the forums then.
GUYS,
Just got a new computer. Downloaded the emulator and classic rom again! Just may have to get back into this league when it starts up... gonna need a lot of practice games tho, rusty as helllllll.

Cool, March 3 is my birthday... I guess I was born to be a part of this forum and compete in the online leagues! Great job guys for all the hard work and dedication! You sure bring a lot of fun into peoples lives!

Finally found something. I believe all Canada games will be on CTV...and the rest will be streamed on either tsn.ca or sportsnet.ca
http://puckthemedia.wordpress.com/2010/02/...nd-tv-schedule/
I came back here to post a tv schedule I found but it looks like you already found one. Every game is live on TV! This is going to be unbelievable, can't wait!
And that Pierre McGuire game sounds great! Haha, I think it could be trimmed down though. A little too much information to go through, I think you'd spend too much time drinking and trying to figure out if you should be drinking then actually watching any hockey.
-
If anyone stumbles across a tv schedule for men's hockey...please post the link here.
http://www.vancouver2010.com/olympic-hocke...hedule-results/
Here's the Hockey Schedule which I'm sure you could have found on your own. But as far as the broadcast schedule CTV has complete coverage. The majority of their broadcast will be on the CTV Television Network with supplementary programming on TSN and Rogers Sportsnet so I think there should be a good opportunity to catch any of these games of interest.

Hey Beavers33,
Yea, the shot record is outdated. I have no idea what the real record is (the records section never was completed) but I'm pretty sure my shot record for 10 minute periods is 86, and I think with Buffalo too. I wish I had the time to make a records section that would allow users to upload and update the records.
Great thread. I always say put in the lowest rated guys for a fun challenge.

What's the record for goals in a game in 20 min periods? I wanted to score 100 goals in a game so I set out at the task. The first time I picked the Allstars vs Ottawa but for some reason I couldn't get any chemistry going and topped out at 69 goals. My next try I decided to go with Chicago, the best team in the game that surely has chemistry and topped out at 88 goals. Then, finally I went back to my favorite team the Winnipeg Jets and put up 112 goals! Don't worry, I played all of these games on separate days but it still took a lot of determination and concentration to be able to consistently score over a full 60 minutes. I think Teemu finished with 56 of those goals and if you're wondering the Scoreboard resets back to 0 when you get to 100. But if you go to game stats it shows the correct number of goals.

Play the game without your goalie...that's the best challenge I can recommend.
I used to play against my friends with one hand! I got unusually good at being able to score by doing a last second deke on a goalie and falling while the puck slides into the net. The only hard part is trying to get the puck from people. Its basically impossible to check them, you mainly have to just wait until they shoot it at your goalie then mash the pass button by tapping it on your knee and hope it goes to one of your players. Its quite difficult, you should try it!

The Andreychuk for Clark switch reminded me of another switch I always make with Vancouver. I always take Cliff Ronning out and put Trevor Linden in at Centre. You just can't leave that legend on the bench! Also I think he's a lot tougher and more durable than Ronning.
-
My lineup selection is always based on speed. I rely on speed and "dangleability" to get my scorers to the net and then make my move on the goalie for the score. Like BobKudelski, I usually don't change the lineups much except a couple little switches (Ruutu for Goulet in Chicago, Put Hull in the middle in St. Louis, Lidstrom for Chiasson in Detroit). My key to victory is the ability to evade checks, because once I'm in all alone, it doesn't matter if I have Roenick, Selanne, or Randy Ladoucer, the ability to finish comes naturally to me with any player in the game. It's the getting there with that last second dangle to miss the check from a defender thats the tricky part, and ultimately determines the quality of the scoring opportunity.

I miss all the fun days of dangling in NHL 94. I haven't played a game in months, kinda fell off the face of the planet. The majority of my playing was during my year off after graduating from University. Then I got a new job, combined with my computer crashing and I never really got back into it. I would like to get back into it down the road tho if I ever find the time. I do miss the tremendous competition in this community, sure beats the computer AI! Hope to see you all in the future. Congrats to Master and Bob Kudelski as well!

Gary Roberts career is done...35 left.
not that this really matters but a couple guys changed teams as well... (guerin to pittsbrugh, recchi to boston)

It seems like there is interest out there. But the only way for it not to be lost in translation would have to be a actual e-mail string. Please read my e-mail post above and e-mail me if you are intrested.
i'd be down for a live tournament, but I live in Nova Scotia, theres no way i'd fly to detroit just to play some nhl94... any way u can hook us up with some wings tickets as well? haha

Good question.
Dangler was in the SNES A finals vs ?
Has it been posted?
I don't see it.
Who won?
I haven't played the final series yet against masterof94. I'll try to contact him and get that done this week. SNES NHL94 has been so dead that this could be my last series.
-
EDIT, realized the answer to my question
-
Since when are exhibitions posted? I thought angryjay was supposed to play you.
Angryjay withdrew from playoffs and prodigy moved onto the semi's
-
After much delay, Prodigy and I finally got some time together tonight to play this series.
Game 1: Detroit 3 @ Winnipeg 8
Game 2: Detroit 6 @ Winnipeg 7
Game 3: Winnipeg 9 @ Detroit 4
Game 4: Winnipeg 7 @ Detroit 6 (OT)
GG's prodigy, especially games 2 and 4 which came down to the final seconds in both.
Hopefully Gihtarman and Masterof94 can get their semifinal completed to continue these playoffs!
-
Damn - my aol account is fouled up
AIM is a necessity for playing this online, you will not be able to get games unless you set it up live by talking to someone over AIM
-
start with adding the following on AIM:
gihtarman
metzgerism
xgrad06
these guys should help u get started
-
Where do I go from here? Do I need someone to sign me up or something?
You need to download AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) then add some people from this website to your contact list, then talk on there and ask how to setup games
Must see hockey movies!

Yah that Don Cherry story is pretty interesting. I'm excited to watch the rest tonight. The actors voice is almost identical to the real Cherry's eh? Haha good movie so far. All those movies you mentioned are great too except I haven't seen "Net Worth", I'll have to rent it and give it a watch. Another one I like that's similar to the Don Cherry one because it was a made for TV CBC special was Canada Russia 72. My brother actually had a non-speaking role in the movie. He played number 19 Vladamir Shadrin for the Soviets! HAHAHA traitor! He got to keep all the old school hockey gear and CCCP jersey too so that's pretty cool. It was filmed in Fredericton where the UNB Varsity Reds play for anyone who didn't know.
